### "Easiest way to build your website"

May 7, 2019

4.0

It is easy to make your website from scratch, just choose the one of the many lovely templates out there. It is also secured as it has weekly security patches.

Pros

I love how easy it is to setup WordPress, you don’t need to have any knowledge of HTML or web design, you can basically drag and drop buttons and pages to make a website to your liking. The best thing about WordPress is that it is completely free. There is a lot of templates to download at marketplace as well as tons of different addons that can enrich your website with new features such as live support chat, picture sliders and landing pages.

Cons

The only bad thing about WordPress would be overwhelmed market place with millions of useless addons making it harder to find the one you are looking for.

### "Customizable, Well-Supported Platform"

December 17, 2018

5.0

I primarily use Wordpress to manage and deploy different blog / social posts. I have used it to help build/deploy different company and professional websites. Integrations and widgets are extensively available. The pricepoint is reasonable for personal use, and for corporate use.

Pros

Wordpress is highly customizable, with well-supported (from wordpress and through the community) documentation on implementing different templates and capabilities. It is reliable, stable, and consistent. Deployment happens on-time, and WordPress has great up-time.

Cons

While Wordpress itself is well-supported, many of its widgets/plugins/associated packages (which rely on a third-party developer) can be tricky: integrations sometimes don't work correctly, and finding workarounds or solutions can be tough.

### "The BEST CMS for just about any industry or niche"

June 27, 2018

5.0

Pros

\- Tons of features, plugins, and great community - Excellent support and constantly updated - Flexible enough for pros, simple enough for newbies and amateurs - Drag and drop template builders such as Avada and Divi make it easy to build landing pages - WooCommerce is an excellent eCommerce solution with tons of options and plugins - Tons of resources online to learn, modify, and build powerful websites - Integrates with many solutions

Cons

\- Adding unstable plugins or poorly supported plugins can wreak havoc on your site (see: Ultimate Member fiasco) - Too many plugins and strange caching architecture can cause site performance issues - Requires a decent amount of maintenance - Easy to learn, tough to master

### "Make your website look great with extra features."

December 31, 2019

5.0

From giving notes to taking assignments, it's great for reaching out to people. If you are looking to build your own website, it's the best choice. Many video tutorials are available to create your website. Try the free version first and then one can buy.

Pros

It has a lot of things which everyone will fall into like- It has a great CMS (Organising contents was never so easy). One may not get more plugins as the WordPress offers to make your website look more stylish and pleasing. It comes with predefined theses for new users to get started. Themes are of different types for particular use. SEO is just awesome. Customisation is great. One can also earn money with it.

Cons

Needs training for new users who don't have any knowledge. Security wise I more concern Open source platform.

### "I use WordPress to build most of my sites for clients. "

June 23, 2018

5.0

It allows me to update and build sites that look great a lot more quickly than using coding alone. It also allows my clients easier access to get in and make updates.

Pros

This software is easy to use but also allows the more advanced users tools to make the web site really stand out. The other nice things about program is there is A LOT of plugins. More than you could ever possibly use. WordPress is the most common platform for websites on the web.

Cons

There is some downs to this software mostly when they do updates or when plugins stop working and you have to dig and figure out what is going on. i wish they would make a better health screening of your WordPress Site (Yes, there is plugins that do that, but I wish WordPress had a better platform built in).

### "WordPress is the most popular website platform for a reason"

October 8, 2021

5.0

Pros

WordPress offers a multitude of plugins that enable us to create websites that are both aesthetically beautiful, highly functional, flexible and contemporary. Its educational tools and community support are unmatched.

Cons

The worst I could say about WordPress is that it may be less suitable for someone with little technical or design experience.

### "Making a business with Wordpress "

August 14, 2018

5.0

I created many websites for tons of purposes : care, blogs, ecommerce... and it's each time a better experience than the previous one. It's especially very easy to create business like Airbnb or Sixt just with wordpress and the good themes/plugins.

Pros

\- Opensource - High quality - Wide community around the world - The variety of plugins available - The high possibilities to connect with other softwares like CRMs, mail senders, Zapier...

Cons

You have to train hard before having a good result : making a first website only for testing purposes (on local or only a blog for example). Then you'll begin to be familiar with Wordpress. - At the beginning we don't understand anything, even with tutos it's difficult. That's why I advise to begin with creating wordpress websites directly.

### "WordPress for everything"

December 16, 2018

5.0

Overall experience with WordPress is amazing! I would recommend WordPress to anyone who needs to have a modern website in which he can easily write new posts and have less worries about design.

Pros

Ease of use, plugin extensibility, modularity. WordPress is such a powerful tool which allows me, an ordinary computer user, to create beautiful websites with just a few clicks. Do you want to change the whole design? No problem, just install another theme. There are thousands of themes available for free. Do you want to add new functionality to your website? Just install another plugin. It is that easy! Of course, developers and professionals can use more advanced coding, but even for basic users it is just clicking and writing amazing content which represents you. And yes, WordPress is also free!

Cons

Plugins and themes are updated very often and that can be annoying and time-consuming. Also if you install too many plugins, your website can become slow and sluggish, so keep that in mind. You don't have to use a plugin for everything. Probably there is some code snippet that you just insert into some files and that most of the time work the magic.

### "An amazing blogging option, some changes actually made it worse"

December 15, 2019

5.0

I have been using it for 7 years. The blogs themselves are sometimes blocked by internet providers in some countries, but the websites do not have the same problem.

Pros

It is very easy to register. The free blog options have thousands of beautiful themes to choose from and it automatically changes the display to fit different devices. Also it is traditional. When people think of blogs and websites, they think of Wordpress.

Cons

They made some changes over time and not all of them improved customers' experience. For example, it used to be when you clicked on the top left corner (the "My sites" button), there would be a dropdown menu which allowed you to see the site views for the last 24 hours, so you would know the customers' view by the hours. Now it's gone.

### "Building a Website without Coding"

July 31, 2022

5.0

Due to WordPress I am able to take website design projects and build beautiful websites for clients, even though I didn't study computer science. This because WordPress requires no coding. I high recommend this to anyone who wants to build a professional website but has no background in coding.

Pros

WordPress is easy to use with its drag and drop features, theme editing is very simple and requires less time to build a website without the stress of coding. Easy to publish at the end.

Cons

Very difficult to edit themes purchased from WooCommerce. I really suffered when I was editing a WooCommerce theme I bought for my ecommerce website so I had to abandoned that project due to the difficulties in editing.

### "Wordpress is a no-brainer for any online business"

May 9, 2018

5.0

This is the hub of all of what I do. It allows me to have my business online and gives me the freedom to run it anywhere.

Pros

There is unlimited functionality and potential. I can't imagine being limited in what my sites can do and offer. I can have one site that streams my Podcasts, one that is the face of one business with the store, marketing, relationship nurturing content; a site for my members only. Seriously the ability to customize and adapt a website to fit anyone's needs in limitless with Wordpress.

Cons

There is a level of maintenance that is required in running a wordpress site to make sure that updates don't create conflicts in plugins, themes, etc. But overall, if cared for and maintained properly, there isn't a lot of cons here.

### "Good old friend more than 10 years"

October 20, 2021

5.0

I’ve created a lot of Wordpress websites over the last 10 years. Currently, the best solution for creating a website. Free and easy to learn. Wordpress is endlessly customizable. You can use it to create a blog page, a landing page for your product, a subscription page, etc. I absolutely love using Wordpress. Honestly I can't imagine ever using anything else to build a website.

Pros

I've been using Wordpress for the last 13 years and starting with a simple blog page. Nowadays, I can create almost any page with it for myself and my clients. Easy to use: After an hour training, my clients are able to post blogs, upload media files, create pages and customize the menus. Easily integrate with a lot of third-party tools like autoresponders, analytics tools, payment gateways etc.

Cons

The free themes that come with the Wordpress are too basic. You will need to buy a page builder (visual editor) if you really want to build something exciting. Most of the technical issues come from the third party developments and intergrations. So you should choose plugins and themes carefully.

### "WordPress is one of the great leaders for creating content and websites on the Internet "

May 31, 2018

4.0

Ideal for a fast and complete development of websites and of good quality, with attractive designs to the public and with a great variety of functionalities, ideal from small websites to pages with a great variety of utilities and actions.

Pros

Wordpress offers an excellent tool for the creation and design of web pages, it has innumerable tools and plugins that help you create powerful web sites, very complete and structured focused on what you need, the good thing about pluggins is that it allows you to add only what that you need, thus optimizing the functioning of the web, this makes it very scalable, that is, you can use it for a small blog to a full page for a large company, it is open source so you can investigate and change until your last aspect, making it work as you want, and its main attraction is the ease with which it presents the development, this being what led it to be present in up to 20% of internet websites.

Cons

It is not totally free, for the full version you must pay, and it requires a medium level of knowledge, you can not expect to use the tool without knowing anything about web programming.

### "The Go To CMS Platform For Most Businesses"

February 7, 2019

5.0

All of my websites and client sites are currently hosted on Wordpress. We used to not use it with ecommerce but Woocommerce has come a long way and we are starting to use Wordpress for ecomm more and more. Been using Wordpress for over 10 years now and it gets better and better every year.

Pros

Wordpress is a CMS that can be customized in an infinite amount of ways and can work just as easily for a very large website as a local business website. It is relatively easy to use and newer themes and plugins make website design and management a breeze even for non-tech people.

Cons

Constant updating. Between Wordpress, themes, and plugins, you are constantly updating something and always run the risk of a compatibility issue. I suggest you backup your website often to avoid having issues.

### "Good, but not the best anymore"

October 14, 2022

It was ok for my first ever website and free blog, but for my business website I decided to switch to another platform

Pros

It's easy to buid a simple website and get it published in minutes. Lots of different themes to choose from, enough storage for most customers

Cons

Menu is not convenient, I had to google most of the features I was looking for. Drag and drop is not reliable, I had to be really careful not to mess up any page

### "The Best Platform For Mobile Responsive Websites; At Risk To Potential Vulnerabilities Though"

December 3, 2019

5.0

Even though we had to take a more powerful compute engine for the proper running of the WordPress, I am fully satisfied with it. I recommend to any users (business or individual) looking for a long term, profitable and reliable web solutions.

Pros

In my opinion, WordPress is one of the cheapest and powerful website solutions available on the market at this moment. In could hold a number of tasks for our website from enlisting subscribers, taking online payments, showcasing videos, enabling PDFs download and other cool tracking features and security integrations like HTTPS and SSL.

Cons

One of the main drawbacks for me are the potential vulnerabilities that WordPress, its theme and its plug-ins entail. There are also numerous updates which we have to take care of regularly.

### "Excellent content management system"

November 12, 2019

5.0

There really are no users who couldn't benefit from WordPress as a content management system -- so, my overall impression is HIGHLY favorable. Thanks to WordPress, I was able to run and manage a website for the place that I work with only basic prior knowledge. It was easy to learn!

Pros

There is so much functionality with WordPress as a content management system. The amount of stuff you can do -- whether it be at the code level or at a more streamlined level for a novice user -- is incredible and it really allows you to take control of your own website. If done right, WordPress is extremely powerful and recommended across the board.

Cons

At times, it can appear (or be) a bit too technical for the novice user to understand, having to Google things at times to figure out what they mean and -- this is big -- in what context they are affecting my website.

### "Best Blogging & Website Platform out there"

October 21, 2018

4.0

I wouldn't go anywhere other than WordPress. Other platforms I've used in the past are just frustrating and the visitors have voiced their displeasure with their platforms. I can easily manipulate my theme, website and more by coding or just changing things with the click of a mouse button.

Pros

If you have self-hosted Wordpress, the abilities are unlimited to what you can do for your website. There are layouts, themes, plug-ins, tutorials, guides, and so much more to help make your website user friendly and visitor friendly.

Cons

If you do not purchase your hosting and use the free wordpress website (blogname.wordpress.com), you're really limited on what you can do. Sometimes even on the self-hosted wordpress there are issues with plug-ins, themes, etc that can put your website down.

### "Cheaper thank SquareSpace for more minimal sites"

November 21, 2018

5.0

Pros

I have used so many site builders and I keep going back to Wordpress for myself and clients alike. The plans it offers are affordable and you can have a free plan if you just need a blog or the such, and there are easy to use templates for a variety of businesses. I am pleased to see they've also added more templates for photography showcasing. Wordpress is fantastic for a personal 'who am I?' site, a portfolio that is simple and sparse, or a blog heavy site. I personally use it for the former two topics. I am very pleased with how they've moved towards more image-friendly templates as a couple of years ago I recall being frustrated at the lack of resources.

Cons

The reason I don't find WordPress great for more intricate sites is that there's very minimal customization. Sometimes you can get around things using HTML, but otherwise you're limited to specific fonts and layouts. The thing I have most difficulty with is displaying photos as there are a few limited options for layouts. So again, it's best for sites with limited pages and concise information.

Pros

The features and functions of WordPress are really outstanding. This is my favorite Content Management System, that allows users to create a professional website within few minutes. You can create a stunning any kind of website according to your requirements with the help of plugins and themes.

Cons

No doubt, the features, and options of WordPress are really easy to use. There are lots of free Plugins and themes you can use for your website. So I never faced any problem in this software, for me there are no cons. WordPress is totally free of cons.

### "WordPress - The Best Content Management System."

October 20, 2018

5.0

Overall experience is also very good, as creating & managing the site is also possible with zero code knowledge. Third party plugins also making our life easy. I have setup more then 400+ WP blog in my lifetime and they all are running well.

Pros

WordPress provide the best blogging experience. Best thing in it that you can setup this CMS in few minutes as all the leading hosting site also provide the once click installation for WordPress. WordPress is having very large community. Open source code make it more transparent. The large community also come up with a number of themes and plugins, as their are a number of plugin in the market. By Default themes also help in Search Engine Optimization technique, so it help in landing the web site in top ranking search results.

Cons

A large community and open source code attracts the black\\grey hat hackers. So they should continuously improving the security and come up with the more frequent patches to improve the security. Some plugins also don't work properly and WordPress should also verify the plugin authenticity so user should not end up with installing fake plugin.

### "I'm 50/50 for Wordpress"

April 18, 2019

4.0

Pros

When it comes to Wordpress for running a blogging website and personal use, it's my favorite platform out there. It comes with easily customizable templates and makes for easy posting and publishing. I enjoy the plugins that are available and the ease of implementing outside software onto the platform.

Cons

When it comes to hosting a business website, I think it is absolutely terrible. It's hard to customize without messing up the entire template, and making even small changes is near impossible if you aren't a professional coder. I've had to teach myself code to make the smallest changes, and even then I'm nervous about messing up the entire code. The plugins aren't fantastic, and the website just looks meh.

### "Blogging has to be on wordpress"

April 7, 2020

3.0

If you manage it well, it keeps running. The hosting websites support it out of the box, which is a great help. Low maintanance if done right

Pros

\- The most established web application, to let you admin your blog - Gazillion plugins to solve problems as technology evolves on the web - Friendly to non-technical users - Its free and open source - Lots of great web hostings that support wordpress out of the box

Cons

\- Technical maintainance is hard, since its not very friendly to version control - Staging process for wordpress is home grown for the most part - If not managed well, you can soon end up in a soup of changes that will cost you money to keep going

Alternatives considered

[Ghost](https://www.capterra.com/p/151947/Ghost/)

Reason for choosing WordPress

Wordpress is well established and supported by the community. The project was to empower non-technical users, so wordpress was more self-managed, while the alternative needed you to be good at hands-on maintainance.

Cons

It can become overwhelming, so many plugins and the range of quality can be very patchy.
