### "Hands on or Hands Off, Innumerable plugins means unlimited options."

December 5, 2018

5.0

Super fast website implementation and integration with apps, and plugins meant I was always able to offer something relevant and customise when I need to. This platform has been around for a while now, and I have used it reliably for years and only seen it improve.

Pros

This platform has been the foundation for my business for yours, even as an education platform and a way to keep up to date with different markets, trends and challenges. Before WIX.COM before SQUAREPACE.COM there was Wordpress and as a result there are millions of plugins that users code and implement for you to try, learn and capitalise on. Why invent the wheel. I love the thousands of templates easily available to build any website, and the modular nature of the plugin system means you can be as custom and hands on as you want. Alternatively find a turnkey solution, for a great one page theme and you are set in a number of minutes. No other platform has been as fun to learn and develop for and the community (open source majority) has some great free gems available.

Cons

Ultimately you will get what you pay for, these systems often require recoding and development, when total shifts in browsers and technologies emerge and if your trying to stay on the blistering edge of being up to date, this does create more work in your workflow. Ultimately I still recommend this to those with time and a flare for creativity, using modular systems.

### "Wordpress is our favourite tool for sharing"

November 14, 2017

5.0

As a company that needs to share lots of information to staff and customers, it's important that we have a central resource that can deliver the right information to the right person. Our customers and partners can find whatever they need from our Wordpress site without having to ask any staff; this means we're freed up to carry on with the day to day running of the business.

Pros

I really like how you can almost make Wordpress do whatever it is you need it to do. The number of free plugins mean that you can take a basic, reliable platform and customise it just the way you want to. I like everything about Wordpress, in fact it never stops amazing me and as yet, I haven't found anything that it can't do.

### "You can do soooo much with WordPress! "

November 12, 2017

4.0

Pros

WordPress is a relatively easy to use web building platform (CMS). And it's got so many plugins that you can pretty much build any kind of website you want. It's open source, so it's constantly improving and very inexpensive.

Cons

It can be overwhelming to find and select "themes" and "plugins" to build your site because there are so many. And since the plugins are built from myriad different sources, they can interact poorly with each other and make problems for your site. You need to be relatively savvy in programming to manage a WP site. If you don't have technical support, you should look for an easier platform.

### "Il più diffuso CMS"

January 29, 2023

Pros

La sua diffusione permette di trovare in fretta collaboratori, consigli, esempi per realizzare il proprio sito.

Cons

Le prestazioni non sono certo il punto di forza. Anche la sicurezza non è proprio l'aspetto prioritario della piattaforma .

### "My Go to CRM"

September 6, 2018

5.0

I can create my sites easily and make them look beautiful, professional and clean with themes and plugins.

Pros

What's there not to love about WordPress? I've been using it to create my sites for the past 9 years. It's super easy to set up and most hosting companies allow you to install WordPress with Softalicous or something similar. No technical knowledge needed. WordPress is simple to use out of the box too. You can set up a site and start blogging in a matter of 5-10 minutes. I wouldn't recommend any other CRM.

Cons

Nothing I don't like. Since it's opensource, to a point, there are tons of developers that work with it and work out bugs for us.

### "Solid Website Builder "

March 14, 2021

5.0

I'm thankful that there are enough videos, support, and forums available to help make figuring out WordPress fairly navigable. We have had a lot of turn over over the years and we've been still able to maintain our site while cycling through staff.

Pros

The many themes and customizations that WordPress offers makes it very versatile. As far as features, I especially like that you can preview the page before going live with the changes in order to avoid epic blunders lol.

Cons

As versatile as it is there are some modifications that just seem impossible to find. It could be from theme to theme, but it seems certain page building tools have their own sets of rules which can be random and restrictive without reason.

### "It was the best alternative, it is no longer"

October 9, 2020

3.0

With Wordpress it is possible to make all kinds of websites. This can be a good option for anyone who works as an administrator of many sites, as a marketing agency, because with a low cost tool you can do anything. The problem is that for an organization or person who runs their own website the experience is unpleasant and you usually will not need a tool that can do anything. You need a tool that does ONE thing, but does that thing well. So, in JAN 2020 I changed my personal Wordpress.com website to Ghost Pro, after 2 years using Wordpress. I am much more satisfied.

Pros

\- It is a very robust CMS. You can make any type of website with it. It is very complete. - There is a huge market of "themes" for you to acquire a perfect web design for your business. - There are a huge number of plugins to customize your website. - It is used by many on the web, so any problem, there will be someone to help you. - It is a very cheap alternative.

Cons

\- The sites are slow. - The experience for you to manage your website alone is terrible. - The control panel to configure, adjust, do everything is confusing, overloaded with toolbars, difficult to understand and unpleasant to use.

### "Great options for all skill levels"

March 26, 2019

5.0

Pros

What I like most about using WordPress is that it's up to the user how in depth you want to go. Meaning that it's a great choice not only for beginners, but also for more advance or professional users too. I started out using WordPress with very little experience or background knowledge and was able to start building my website within a few minutes. I like that it has many options for the user to get as in-depth and as technical as they want to -- from simple plug-ins all the way to writing your own html code. I like this because it allows users with less experience to still start out and get their website up and running easily, and then you can start learning the more technical side of things as you go along, should you wish to. There are a lot choices for choosing different style themes, and many of them are free. You can also choose to opt for other paid options too. I like that WordPress is compatible with hundreds (probably thousands) or third party plug-ins too, many of which are free to use if you only use the basic settings.

Cons

Like most software that is very customizable and used by an array of users with different skill levels, it can be a little overwhelming at first. I found some great tutorial videos online that are really helpful in getting started, especially if you're more a beginner or new to this type of thing.

### "Wordpress allows me to keep up a super professional, customized website."

March 16, 2018

5.0

Pros

Wordpress is super customizable, allows for tons and tons of plugins, and allows non-coders the ability to retain control over their own website. I was also able to have my company website for years before adding in a shop section - which was fairly simple to do and stayed within the site's overall aesthetic.

Cons

The platform is not for anyone who is looking for a simple drag and drop "make a website in minutes" kind of functionality. While decently easy to use, in order to make a professional, well-functioning website a users need to take time familiarizing themselves with the platform. Still, high recommended!

### "From a Wordpress fanatic"

February 19, 2019

5.0

Pros

I'll admit that I'm a Wordpress fanatic. My earliest blogs were on Wordpress and I've stayed with the software ever since. For me, it was easier to learn than other programs. Plus, there's a vast level of support for every aspect you could need -- from technical to design to the appropriate plugins.

Cons

It may not be as intuitive as other drag and drop platforms (although, Wordpress recently made a change to make it a bit easier on the design side). It will take a newbie, a moment to get a handle of things. The backend of the site could look a bit intimidating for someone who used to other website creation tools.

### "The goto web site creation and blogger platform for me"

February 7, 2018

5.0

Wordpress has helped my business immensely. Its happiness to work with the Google Search Engine and the ease of setup make deploying these sites fun and fruitful.

Pros

Wordpress has a huge community of developers and creators. It is easy to setup and create a simple website in minutes if you know what you are doing. Learning curve for the basic operation of the software is not steep.

Cons

Using the Wordpress.com version can be restrictive with what can be accomplished for free. If you download Wordpress and install on your own servers, you need to know more than the basics of WordPress security, plugin installations and updating of the core WordPress files.

### "Wordpress is the current platform for creating your website"

April 30, 2018

5.0

Wordpress led me to create some of my most successful businesses and websites. I currently use Wordpress today.

Pros

Wordpress is hands down the go to platform when you are trying to create your own website. The platform makes it super easy for your design and customize the way you want your website to look. Yes there are many competitors in the field but Wordpress does it the best as there are almost infinite plugins to meet your needs.

Cons

You will find that there is somewhat of a lack in support. There are many FAQ guides and tutorials but you will have to dig deep sometimes in order to find your solution. This part can become time consuming.

### "Great free CMS"

March 15, 2019

4.0

I help users make their first websites with WordPress using 3rd party plugins like BoldGrid. I have also been able to use cross CMS frameworks like Gantry to deploy sites across Joomla and WordPress.

Pros

It is a easy to use CMS that is focused on helping people publish their own content. Being able to help users get online quickley and manage their own comntent is very useful. In addition all the 3rd party theme and plugin support helps you extend it for your unique needs.

Cons

People are often confused on WordPress.com vs the WordPress CMS (aka WordPress.org). This has users think they need to get hosting via WordPress.com vs the host of their choice often times.

### "User-friendly and powerfull website platform which is googd both for blogs and online stores"

December 11, 2018

5.0

I have both blogs/news and online stores using Wordpress. It is a flexible and universal platform which is too good to be free.

Pros

Wordpress allows creating an online website for people who are not developers. Moreover, any upgrade or website editing is a matter of installing appropriate plugins. The best thing about it is that Wordpress is an open source software with a huge community and ready solutions\\integrations.

Cons

The more plugins I install the bigger my website loading time is. Wordpress, as the most popular website platform, is a target for spam bots and hackers. Actions are required (like updating the WP version) to stay protected.

### "Perfect For Creating all kinds of Websites with little or No Coding Knowledge"

October 17, 2022

5.0

My experience so far has been awesome

Pros

There are no limits with what you can do with WordPress. I have used wordpress to create websites for various purposes such as E commerce, blogs, portfolio, corporate websites and many more. With the plugins, you can easily make things happen in your own way for various purposes and it doesn't cost much to maintain.

Cons

The security of the website is the only challenge but the risk can be reduced by doing some configurations on both the cpanel and wordpress itself which may be a little technical for newbies.

### "Rather Enjoyable to use, and with so many add ons you can configure just about any website you need."

April 20, 2018

4.0

Pros

I found this software rather easy to set up and get using. I like all the available add ons for this program cover a wide selection of types and options. There is a ton of free content out there, and if you need something more specialized then there are companies/people who can make you custom plugins. I found lots of free themes available including programs to help in the design of your own custom theme.

Cons

I like the software overall very much, but have found over the years that there seems to be a good amount of bugs/security issues, so keeping your software updated to the newest version is very important.

### "Create websites in minutes."

December 17, 2018

5.0

It's really much better than the available alternatives i.e. Drupal and Joomla. Plus we're also lil uncertain about the WP 5.2 version.

Pros

It's damn simple and easy create and launch your website. As we're business plan users so we also got free domain and SSL Cert. Secondly, as everything is cloud based so you need to waste money in hosting and creating backups.

Cons

With every update from Plugin or Theme there's a new conflict which is really disheartning for us. As there's no option with us except disabling all the plugins to check the issue or change the theme. Secondly, there's very limited scope of help being provided by the WP Support team.

### "Creating website is so simple with WordPress"

August 19, 2019

5.0

We use this for our FAQ website where the user can see for example on how to change computer password, how to use e-mail or other specific program tasks.

Pros

It is really easy to add topics to the webpage. There's a lot of extensions available so you can customize it to do almost everything. Anyone even without programming knowledge can add or edit information on the website

Cons

Installation is easy but if you want to customize it can get a bit messy, tech knowledge is needed for customization of installation (Databases, locations, etc)

Switched from

[Joomla](https://www.capterra.com/p/161648/Joomla/)

Joomla seems obsolete, not so much extensions and seems that is not keeping up with new market needs. Wordpress was able to manage our new needs and it provides an even easier way to manage the website.

### "The best software for great websites"

July 11, 2018

5.0

Pros

Everyone thinks that WP is a platform for small websites and blogs, being the number one choice it had attracted lots of attention for the big players also, with very large websites from news agencies to retailers and niche websites. You can pretty much develop any website concept in Wordpress, using millions of plugins or themes, nowadays is much a puzzle of constructing the greatest website.

Cons

The platform is great, but being attacked constantly by bad people it has its toll, more and more aggressive measures are being taken to sql injections and mad plugin, please be aware what you install on your website.

### "Great website building tool"

April 25, 2020

5.0

Overall, I've had a great experience with WordPress and I've been able to become more knowledgable in my field as a result of using it daily.

Pros

What I like most about WordPress is that you don't need any experience with building websites in order to use it. They have tons of templates to choose from and the interface is easy to use when you're customizing your site.

Cons

It can be pricey to keep paying for your site through WordPress but that's expected to through most website building tools. Also, the higher your subscription, the trickier the interface becomes to navigate and use but there's support and help documentation there to assist you.
