### "Free Can Be Awesome. And Painful."

December 4, 2018

3.0

This is okay as a blogging platform, but as a website platform I just found it too high-maintenance.

Pros

Building pages was pretty easy. Copying or adding on wasn't too bad either, and it was free. There were a lot of options available for design since you have people from all over providing them.

Cons

When it didn't work, I wasn't sure where to turn. Implementing all those different plug-ins required someone in the world of websites and you had to pay close attention to which version of WordPress they were designed for. I tried a number of plug-ins and not all of them worked. Others were abandoned by the people who created them, which leaves you in a lurch. And once we migrated off of WordPress, we lost all our content and it cost me hours and hours of fruitless searching.

### "Best Content management system"

March 26, 2019

4.0

Pros

\-User friendly and easy to use -Good for setting up a quick fire website without much hassle Wordpress is an easy way for you to set up your website and blogs without much hassle. The interface is quiet simple and user oriented, you don't need to be a tech guru to build sites with wordpress and it's totally worth it. You can easily build stuffs as little as your personal blog or large scale websites like CNN e.t.c

Cons

Can take some getting use to and somethings generally are not so intuitive and might need extra hands. Does not matter though most of the things that you need can be done by you.

### "WordPress is Awesome"

August 29, 2018

5.0

Pros

This is not only the best free software you can build a website on, but it's the best software you can build a website on, period. WordPress is incredibly extensible, with literally tens of thousands of themes and plugins written for it that allow you to do just about anything you can dream of...and probably many things you never dreamed of. With WordPress, you can make a site as complicated or as simple as you like, so really anyone can create a nice, functional website using this platform.

Cons

It would be nice if WordPress shipped with a site builder, but that's coming with project Gutenberg.

### "Poor User Interface; Powerful Result"

January 8, 2020

3.0

It’s a solid platform for discovery and publishing. It’s not the best site for a storefront.

Pros

The ability to code backend is the best feature in terms of this product. If you plan on visually developing a site, dreamweaver, wix or square space are what you want.

Cons

Corrupted code at the drop of a hat in input on front end plagues this platform, but you learn how to avoid it.

Reason for choosing WordPress

### "User friendly CMS"

November 27, 2018

5.0

I work in CMS for a living and I am still blown away with what wordpress can do over many other competitors.

Pros

The best thing about wordpress is the fact that it’s mostly built in WYSIWYG layouts. It’s easy to preview what your working on, restore old pages, add SEO- basically anything you need to do to have a beautiful, mobile responsive website. Bottom line, you don’t need to be a computer genius to figure it out.

Cons

The only difficult part is if you’ve outsourced development elsewhere and there’s custom CSS built into your design. I highly suggest reading reviews of templates before implementing them into your build!

### "WordPress-Excellent for developing websites"

September 17, 2021

5.0

I've been using WordPress for my Content writing internships and it had been an excellent tool for building and delivering the best content .

Pros

The best feature of WordPress is that it has a user friendly platform where you can easily manage to build a top notch content with a good SEO ranking.

Cons

The only con i can think of WordPress is that some of the customizations are available at an expensive rate which might hold you back.

### "Wordpress gets the job done, quickly and easily"

November 4, 2020

5.0

I've used this for years in my last two IT jobs and I have created several sites for others on the side.

Pros

It works, and in IT that isn't always a constant. WordPress is the best web development tool I've ever used, it's as easy for beginners as FrontPage used to be and it has so many advanced features and a TON of developers creating plugins and apps for it. You can find lots of great info available free of charge, support is not a difficult task, just love the product!

Cons

There are some buggy issues switching between versions and PHP upgrades, but I believe most of that is based on other plugins I have installed. I really don't have a complaint about WP.

### "Easiest website tool"

January 22, 2019

5.0

Our business website is built with wordpress. Now that it is built and functioning, it is super easy to go in and update information. A lot of clients reach out to us from our contact form. They are able to look at our project portfolio and those looking for employment are able to fill out our application online.

Pros

I really like the user-friendly interface of this product. You can access everything from your dashboard. Initial set up is simple. You choose your template or theme and edit to customize. You can change colors, add your content, add pages, and add forms as needed. You will use it an always be learning something new or trying new things. Hosting is easy with Wordpress as well to create your own URL.

Cons

The only thing I dont like are some of the user-created plugins. Sometimes they just dont work.

### "Great tool for building sophisticated websites "

January 27, 2019

4.0

My overall experience with WordPress has been good and I would recommend it to anyone who wants to create a beautiful, sophisticated website.

Pros

We use WordPress for our company website and monthly blogging. It has many great features including several plug-ins to make your life easier. It is pretty self intuitive and easy to follow layout. I would say that WordPress is definitely for a more experienced web designer or someone with some developer/technical skillet. Although you don't need to write code yourself, there are some features that allow you flexibility if you know how to. The tool allows you to really create your own beautiful website and allows for more options than other sites (wix/squarespace). Wordpress is great for writing a lot of content and maintaining monthly blogs.

Cons

I love using WordPress but the UI is not as nice and seamless compared to some of their competitors (squarespace). You definitely get more functionality from wordpress but the backend is not as nice (in my opinion). Also some of the plug-ins do not provide enough information on how to use them for a beginner. For example SEO plug-ins may tell you what's missing but they won't tell you how to execute it. Not that it's WordPress' responsibility to manage those plug-ins but their functionality should be a bit more detailed.

### "Versatile and easy to set up"

March 1, 2019

4.0

I already set up some websites using it and I've had a very smooth experience every single time, even hosting in third-party servers. IMO, the prices to host in WordPress' own servers are a bit high for personal and non-comercial use (at least in my country). The Personal plan is too limited even for personal use, while the Premium plan is too expensive (even more when it's billed yearly instead of monthly).

Pros

It's incredible easy to set up a WordPress-based website. There are tons of useful plugins and themes on the web that make WordPress a very versatile platform. You can go from a basic old-fashioned blog to storefronts. It's even easier since it has a builtin search for plugins and themes. However, the best thing about WordPress is that it's free to download and host in your own servers.

Cons

From a programmer perspective, and for me personally, it's a con that WordPress is written in PHP (which incur in writing plugins in PHP, or meddling with PHP even to build the themes). However, it's understandable given its age (which, fortunately, translates to maturity).

### "There's no wonder why WordPress runs 25-30% of the internet. It's amazing!"

March 26, 2018

5.0

I'm delighted with WordPress and proud to call myself a user for many years. It's helped power my own and my client's businesses and I'm absolutely delighted with the community built around it.

Pros

WordPress (WordPress.org, self-hosted) is extremely powerful, flexible and extensible. As a designer & developer, I'm proud to use WordPress on my own sites and client websites as well. The WordPress core is updated frequently. The community is incredible and there's an abundance of well-supported themes and plugins.

Cons

N/A. WordPress itself is fantastic. Many of the concerns others have arise from the use of poor practices or mediocre hosting.

### "The only backoffice you should have to build your site. "

April 19, 2019

5.0

Once we learned how to access the WordPress system, add features, and start building it became easier and easier each time we went to use it. Watch some videos and have someone walk you though WordPress if you have never used it before. Any type of website is possible with WordPress.

Pros

WordPress has an ocean of addons that you can integrate into its system. This makes it possible to build literally any website you ever need. You don't even have to know coding. I've been several sites and I've never learned one line of code.

Cons

Accessing WordPress can be difficult for beginners. I would suggest you watch a video on YouTube for instructions on how to signup.

### "As a professional web developer, WordPress powers almost every project we make. "

May 8, 2018

5.0

Pros

The best thing about WordPress is how familiar most people are with the interface. They've worked with it in the past, so it's easy to get them into the writing flow. WordPress is pretty extensible, with lots of functionality available via free plug-ins. It will also run decent-sized sites on basic hosting without performance issues, as long as you use plugins selectively.

Cons

It's really easy for people to screw up their installations by just adding plugins willy-nilly. Also, of late it's having a bit of an identity crisis as to what it's trying to be, which makes long-term stability unclear.

### "The end all be all to your blog/website"

February 19, 2019

5.0

I wanted to start a blog and with Wordpress I was able to do everything I wanted to, exactly HOW I wanted to do it. I would recommend this 100% of the time to anybody wanting to start their own website.

Pros

There is just so much functionality to Wordpress is continues to blow my mind. I wanted to start a blog and I didn't know in which direction to go, but when I found Wordpress I knew it was the one. Because it is open source, there are third parties add-ons that you can integrate that help with anything! Buttons, polls, organization, contact fields, animations, everything. I haven't yet come across an idea that couldn't be executed using Wordpress.

Cons

If you use Wordpress.com you will be able to get started right away and make a blog in almost the click of a button. But doing that is very limited with the things you can do. If you want something more robust using Wordpress.org it gets extremely difficult if you're not used to coding. Yes, there is so much that you can do, but yes it will also give you a brain aneurysm trying to figure out how to get some of it done. There are barely any instructions so sometimes can be a headache.

\- save tons of money and time. - easy to customize - easy to manage and scale you are able to grow your site, blog or biz by using this software.

Pros

\- Easy to use: it is simple, UI/UX are smart, there is no way to be lost - No tech knowledge needed: if you are not a tech person, then this is the right tool for you as it should be. - Tools and libraries: there is a bast amount of 3rd party plugins, widget, themes, etc. to help you enrich your Wordpress site - Easy to customize: with a click here and there you can get your site just the way you want. - Huge community: in case of need, help is right everywhere, the community is so huge you can find an article about everything or other people posting solution for your every problem - Dream for developers: it is built in such a way that you can pretty much own every piece of code, you are able to edit, built, change everything.

Cons

\- a lot of non-official 3rd party tools: it is easy to find yourself installing a malware or spyware on your site if you are not cautious. There are thousands of 3rd party tools that you can be easily fooled. Pay alway attention to reviews, rating and number of downloads.

### "WordPress is perfect for beautiful, high functioning websites!"

September 9, 2021

WordPress alleviated the pain staking process of creating custom websites for clients, it had many different plug-ins and tools to create a site to our customers needs.

Pros

WordPress is so diverse that it gives us so many capabilities when designing any type of sites for our clients

Cons

The only thing I found difficulty with is when there is an update and something on the site "breaks" it is sometimes difficult to find where that break happened, takes some trial and error.

### "Wordpress"

February 27, 2019

5.0

I have used WordPress to create several web sites for small businesses. With all the plugins, WordPress is great and you can easily create a store, and implement tons of cool features for free, or a nominal fee.

Pros

I think that as a web developer this is a fantastic tool for medium to small businesses. It creates an intuitive workflow for both the developer and the user with the content management system and easy to use structure.

Cons

It was a bit confusing getting setup and linking up custom pages and templates if you don't know or understand php. Once you have figured out the basic structure of how the pages link, it's pretty simple to use.

### "WordPress excellent CMS."

June 18, 2018

4.0

Initially required a little work that ended up saving me a lot of time and money in the long term. Times per week allows us to get our name higher in the Google search engine without having to pay to do it.

Pros

The design and customization are easy to use. There are many add-ons that help create an attractive and functional website that is functional and intuitive, The WordPress platform also allows programmers or those with at least some knowledge of custom coding in and around the templates. The viability of SEO is indisputable and opposed to other applications or platforms to edit content on the web, the ease of use makes it have an advantage in the competition. WordPress also allows to locate the information in chronological order, which is beneficial for those who evaluate the content of the website, since it facilitates the audit.

Cons

There seems to be some problems with security. Sometimes I find it a bit difficult for new users to understand the interface, but I really think it's worth using this product.

### "The standard go to"

July 5, 2022

4.0

For the most part, pertaining to one website, this is pretty easy to keep an overview with. However, since we're running four languages of the same site, I wish there was an easier way to divide your site into languages instead of having to use 4 different pages.

Pros

I like the clean visual style, and great options to personally customize everything.

Cons

The CMS can at times be a little hard to navigate, and it is not always obvious what plug-ins do what, if you have to go troubleshoot. Would be nice with an easier way to toggle them while testing the website.
