### "The most important part of my business for more than a decade."

July 22, 2018

5.0

I probably couldn't run my business without Wordpress, so, uh... everything?

Pros

I've been using Wordpress for more than a decade, and my entire website with more than 20,000 articles is based on it. I seriously couldn't imagine using any other platform to run a content platform this comprehensive with multiple writers and constant updates.

Cons

Even though it's fairly easy to setup and use, it can get fragile once you extend it with plugins. Sometimes the site breaks up updates and it's hard to get it going again, which is a disaster when you're getting 100K+ visitors a day.

### "Good for Experienced Users"

September 14, 2020

4.0

Overall it has been good, I have gotten used to it and help others.

Pros

I like the formats and themes that are offered. I also like the features that you can use to track the use of your blog site.

Cons

The interface is clunky and not intuitive at all. It can be hard for new users to get used to and the tools are not always where you expect them.

### "A Great Starting Place For Wesbite Builders and Managers"

November 6, 2019

Building and managing websites. It has helped solve our website management issues!

Pros

Wordpress is the OG of building websites! It's a simple way to learn how to build and manage a website. You'll find basic functionalities along with an infinite amount of plugins or "apps" to manage the backend of a website! The best part, it's free!

Cons

The plugins are sometimes frustrating and can easily break things other plugins/ things on site. Also, their themes are fairly basic in comparison to other website building/ managing softwares.

### "Use WordPress for Your Websites"

March 16, 2019

5.0

I used Joomla!, another CMS, extensively for many years until the painful update process forced me to look elsewhere. WordPress made the best fit for what I was trying to accomplish. I have created dozens of sites with it and am very happy with the quick updates WordPress makes when there have been security vulnerabilities found with it.

Pros

WordPress is easily one of the best, and free!, Content Management Systems (CMS) available. There are hundreds of templates and plugins available, some free and others paid (including pro versions of the free ones), making it easily customizable and extendible. You can either host through WordPress.com or self-host through any number of other companies. Upgrading WordPress is easy, and I have found over the years that I've only had to remove a couple plugins that were not compliant with the updated version.

Cons

WordPress, like any other CMS, requires a bit of a learning curve. As you become more competent with it, you'll find that you can create a nice, functional website.

### "Beginner or expert"

October 17, 2018

4.0

I have created many websites using strictly html & css. Wordpress allows the freedom to have more at a much quicker time period. I am able to double up my workload with wordpress because of the many features, and i dont need to know the coding aspect!

Pros

There is so many features. Wordpress allows users to create a website with no technical knowledge, and allows advanced users the options to change all the details they want. Wether straight out of the box or completely customized websites wordpress is for all!

Cons

If a user does decide to change a feature, during the frequent updates those changes are discarded.

### "We love wordpress"

August 8, 2019

4.0

Pros

As someone who has had their website developed by an external customer and is adding the content, pages and posts it has been amazing. Everything is clear with informative dropdowns when you are confused. I have been able to keep our website updated and make changes with no trouble at all! I would recommend it for people who may not have that many tech savvy skills but love to be involved and be able to edit their sites.

Cons

I would be good if updates would automatically be done, so the risk of running an old plug in would be less. Auto-save when creating posts as drafts would also be helpful, one slip of the keyboard and the page can disappear without anything being saved.

### "Complete but not for beginners"

December 17, 2018

5.0

I am very happy and satisfied with Wordpress performance although you might need professional help to see the results.

Pros

I have based my business on a Wordpress site, and now that it is finished it looks great. It has lots of features and options which make my site look very elegant and professional. The best part is that it's been totally free for me and that there are a lot of tutorials online where you can learn what you don't know how to do. My site has descriptive pages as well as an online shop and it works perfectly (after a thorough configuration process).

Cons

Nevertheless, such amount of options makes it a bit difficult for total beginners like me to get to understand how it works. I had to hire a person to help me do it.

### "Perfect for small-mid business"

August 15, 2017

5.0

Using a combination of Wordpress and Woocommerce (and some other plugins) I was able to teach myself how to build the site and we now do very well in online sales. Well worth the time it took to learn the system, and it saved us money if we had to pay someone else to build us a site.

Pros

It's free! How can you not love something that's free? It's easy to use. I had no experience with websites, and I can't code. But I was easily able to build a website for our mid-size company.

Cons

There are two big downsides. - There is not an official support team. So you don't have someone to call when you run into an issue. If you don't mind reading articles and watching videos, this shouldn't be a problem. I have yet to find a problem I can't solve (eventually) with some research. - Because its open source plugins are created by thousands of people and companies. Which is great, because it gives you variety. But it also is difficult, because the plugins aren't tested together and might not work together.

### "Solid Application for Small - Enterprise Companies"

October 7, 2021

4.0

I've been using WordPress for over 10 years now from small-medium businesses, all the way to large enterprise companies. It works and it is efficient.

Pros

The stability between using WordPress for a small business all the way to enterprise in big tech financial services has been almost the same. It's been great to see it drastically scale and performance not affected. I realize that many people question when they grow out of WordPress, perhaps it's never. I believe larger companies just choose to use WordPress in separate verticals such as an independent code base separate from other product verticals. If you need a system that you plan to update often and you have the performance and troubleshooting support, I believe WordPress is a no-brainer.

Cons

Performance can be frustrating if you don't have technical support.

### "Wordpress can do more than you think"

September 11, 2018

4.0

I am the webmaster of a small government website that switched to wordpress two years ago. It has made managing the site much easier by enabling more users to manage their own content and leaving me more time for server maintenance rather than daily web page updates. I have since then started to use word press for creating websites of my own and for friends at little to no cost. I have used it in linux and windows environments to great success.

Pros

Wordpress is easy to install, easy to manage and has a very large community of plug-in creators to help you create just about any type of website you want. It works on linux and windows platforms very well. It is kept up to date with updates often to keep things secure and advancing with technology changes.

Cons

Wordpress was originally written for blogging only but has advanced way beyond that. Because of this there are some issues with having to work around the blog mentality or design of a website if you do not want a blog but a different type of website. It can be done easily though.

### "Easy to learn even those who are not tech-savvy!"

February 11, 2020

5.0

Giving clients an easy click to my work portfolio has been a huge help instead of sending them all of the links to the companies that I handle their online presence! Selling on Wordpress is easy (have dealt with with client's Wordpress sites) as well as sign-ups for forums, etc.

Pros

I am NOT a tech-savvy person when it comes to anything related to HTML or websites but with Wordpress I am able to make edits to my site myself and easily look videos up to find solutions to any issues I do run into. I have not had to deal with support as of now but highly recommend Wordpress both for your client's website and your own business!

Cons

The only issue I have run into is inserting images onto my website portfolio. I have scoured through websites trying to figure this out but always have to end up hiring someone to make these edits for me! Aside from this one complaint, I've dealt with no other cons within Wordpress! Logging in is easy, resetting your password as well!

### "One of the best software for building your own website. "

October 19, 2022

For overall I think this software is really good although there are some problem but I think it's normal and manageable. It's very easy to use and also it has many advantages that can be helpful for users.

Pros

What I like about this software is that you can build your own website, if you want to create blog and have business this software is very good. In WordPress you can also reads blogs, news and many more.

Cons

What I like least about this software is that website is vulnerable, you need lots of plugins, I think the management should look into this to improved.

### "WordPress: a great starting point for new webmasters or entreprneurs"

September 26, 2021

3.0

My personal experience with WordPress is positive provided that security mechanisms are in place, however, users that relied on basic or no security suffered data loss and malware getting into their websites.

Pros

WordPress gave us the possiblity to deploy websites and landing pages that were easy for our clients to customize, manage and operate. the integration of 3rd party modules and social media is very easy on wordpress.

Cons

Wordpress Free Templates are very vulnerable and accessible to hackers. You should not rely on the basic security provided by your webhosting service provider, however, you need to seek reinforced security services to guarantee your website is not hacked by the numerous hacking and malware attacks on internet.

### "Easier to be make business online "

September 11, 2018

4.0

Pros

it is great tool that is very user friendly and has a enriched internal tool that helps a lot to make your own platform at internet. We can customize the things with a little part of Coding , we need not to be very much known to the language, we can just just write a small program and use the inbuilt plugin to make the things work as per us means we have a endless options over here on Wordpress. The blog posting is made as easy as we write status on any social media.Installation of wordpress is easier and as required we can download any number of free themes to make our platforma quite stylish and up to date

Cons

we need to take backup , before making any change with the plugin because many a times plugin got issue with the Compatibility and system breaks and we need to makes the changes undo to make the system run again. technical training is must to use the wordpress to make understand about the plugin and internal tools , their functioning and usage . Security is at big stake if we use word press, we need to remain up to date for that.

### "An Easy-to-Use Platform With a Steep Learning Curve"

December 18, 2018

4.0

We run a news website, and WordPress allows us great flexibility to add users on the fly and upload pieces relatively quickly.

Pros

WordPress is incredibly simple to set-up and get started right away. The interface is geared toward beginners, while at the same time, allowing experts to add modifications. There's also a wide variety of templates available for just about any design.

Cons

Besides the service constantly hacked due to loopholes, you'll have to remain vigilant on updating. If you don't expect your website to be hacked. Also, WordPress' user guide isn't exactly user-friendly.

### "Wordpress is a simple but very cost effective platform for your websites"

September 10, 2018

I love wordpress and currently have around 10 websites using the wordpress software

Pros

I own and operate more than one website all using the wordpress platform. I love the ease of taking a theme and turning it into a great looking website. The 100s of plugins make it so easy to create the website that you want without having to do the coding that you might not have any clue on how to do.

Cons

If you have to be careful for security as wordpress can be hacked. Must stay up to date with all the updates that are happening, but software is available to make everything easy.

### "Websites with professional look quickly."

July 28, 2019

5.0

Wordpress is the ideal tool to speed up the creation of web sites, to manage content, on websites where you need to constantly add content, this is why it is an excellent option when we talk about CMS, my experience has been quite good, makes the task to developt websites be much simpler.

Pros

Wordpress offers a high variety of ready-to-use templates, which are ideal for both professionals and people without any knowledge about website development, since they are very easy to modify, allowing CRUD to be done easily, and it also has a wide range quantity of plugins which facilitates even more the creation of specific modules for the website, in addition to being fully responsive, which is a great advantage since they can be viewed from any device. What I like most about Wordpress, is that although it is easy to use it allows you to create quite complex websites, since you can modify the entire website code.

Cons

In my personal opinion I do not see anything that I do not like about wordpress, it is a fairly complete and easy to use cms, the only fault is that since there is a security breach, something to consider is that for some user it is that when working always on a template, if you need to go to the code, you should learn how the website works, so there is a certain learning curve depending on the template could be quite steep or not.

### "Best web content management by far..."

January 3, 2020

5.0

Overall, I like how fast it is to setup <5mins and ease of use. It's a must have for every website. There is much room for growth as the world transits to a mobile first and app first trend.

Pros

I've been using WordPress (WP) for the past decade, and I must say WordPress has come a very long way. It stands out from the crowd of other Content Management Systems (CMS) easily. So if you're looking to manage your own website, WP is a must. Once WP is installed, it's about installing the right plugins (there should be a standards or most popular) to extend the functionality and customising the right themes to enhance aesthetics. Because its underlying codebase is in PHP, it is easily programmable as well.

Cons

WP is built for the Age of Web. It is not built for the Age of Apps. While it may be abit clunky or overkill to have such a heavy setup for a simple website (file size, loading time etc), the key focus should still be on content. And having content on both web (desktop and especially mobile) as well as app is not easy as the screen size/resolution, and form factor are all different. If there is a more App-centric, CDN-focused version or extension of WP, that will be much anticipated for the next decade for it to stay relevant. For Ecommerce sites, the functions between Shopify and WP gets increasingly blurred, and better integration with such shopping engines will be helpful too.

Reason for choosing WordPress

Ease of use Almost total control

The benefits of WordPress goes on and on and on and on.....

Pros

WordPress has a community like no other. If you ever have a question on something, almost every time someone else has already encountered the same issue so resolutions are readily accessible. There are sooooo many themes and plug-ins to allow you to set up any type of website you can think up (e-commerce, blog, portfolio, etc.) and always stay up-to-date.

Cons

I don't know what's not to like! For 98% of the people out there who aren't looking to spend thousands on a website design, why go anywhere else?

Cons
