### "Wide user support, robust and suitable for a wide range of web pages"

March 15, 2025

5.0

One of our projects required us to build a web store from scratch for a client. I was able to put the page of articles, shopping cart and payment options with WooCommerce (a plugin) quickly and easily. The client was very happy because it worked. It is also good to highlight that I had some issues, a few hours of downtime occurred once when an update plugin crashed with the theme. It was a difficult time, but we got over it quickly with the help of the community and tutorials. That experience taught me the value of creating backups and running test environments for updates before deploying them to the live site. WordPress has been like staring at a blank canvas for us; with enough time, persistence and occasional assistance, we can create just about anything we may require.

Pros

From corporate websites to e-commerce platforms, WordPress works great for almost every project I’ve worked on as a web developer. I have managed to customize each development to my needs without starting from scratch due to its extensive ecosystem of plugins and themes. Anything from a simple personal blog to a sophisticated business website is within our capabilities. It is a powerful instrument as the possibilities are almost unlimited. Themes and plugins are another strong point. You can customize your website without knowing how to code thanks to the plethora of free and paid options. Do you prefer a more contemporary style? For this, there is a theme. Need a social media widget, advanced search engine optimization tool, or contact form? For that, you can find a plugin. It is a toolbox full of solutions for your projects.

Cons

To keep your site safe and running smoothly, you should update it frequently. This includes WordPress, its themes and plugins. Site slowness or, worse, vulnerability to attack may result from not doing so. You have to be very careful with this.

### "WordPressing a lifetime journey"

May 16, 2025

5.0

From self taught user to complex international ecommerce project management, diving deep into each core and additional feature, always looking for the best performances and results.

Pros

I feel it my tool, when challenged asking to solve a problem or what I can achieve with it, I know how to reply and what to do to get the results.

Cons

Lack of collaboration; long time planned feature, endless developing and being a fundamental one it's a big missed opportunity for the stack you build with WP.

### "Easy to use and Looks Great!"

June 12, 2025

5.0

I have worked with Wordpress for 10+ years and I have never had an issue. The plug-in library that they offer is second to none.

Pros

I am a huge fan of the ease of creating, editing and posting content. I do not have experience in HTML so the ease of doing things via Elemontor is critical.

Cons

The only issue I have is I often am updating several sections of our website at one time, however, it is not easy to switch from one section to the site to another.

### "Great for beginners!"

October 3, 2025

5.0

Once you get the hang of it, it's one of the easiest platforms to create a website on for beginners.

Pros

It was fairly easy to learn to use. There are a lot of online tools available to help you through use of the tool which is very helpful.

Cons

It would make it easier if it had a way to tell you if some of the apps conflicted with each other. It would also be helpful if you were given a "list of things you need" when you first get started, like apps that you need that work alongside these types of platforms, like a server for example. These are things you wouldn't think of having to need when first getting started.

### "Its okay but I don't love it."

November 17, 2025

3.0

It is okay. I do not love it. It does what I need it to do and I only have basic skills. It was set up by a contracted team and I only do updates and minor revisions.

Pros

It is a fairl basic website program that does what we need it to do. I have been able to make basic changes and I am not a skilled website designer.

Cons

It is not intuitive to use and, many parts are outdated without an easy way to update and I frequently have to clear caches to get changes to update.

### "The best CMS nowadays "

October 18, 2025

WordPress is the best choice as CMS, easy websites to design and a lot of plugin to use as Elementor, Wprocket and more

Pros

WordPress it’s the best choice If you are looking for a fast, easy to use and with high security sistems CMS. I use WordPress for my web site, as I’m not able to develop an entire website using code and I’m very satisfied.

Cons

Sometimes it can be slower if you charge it with plugins or themes, it needs to stay clean in the most of the times

### "wordpress review"

January 30, 2025

5.0

it has been the best when especially customizing websites to clients and my website

Pros

The website is user-friendly, it is easy to customize some of the templates and themes, and it's SEO capability is top-notch. Also, it is better when someone starts an online store and it has more capability to even be free.

Cons

Some of the themes I have been installing are slow, and some do not support the needs I have, especially when I install the themes, and they start to be hard to customize. Also, there is no learning community like an online course and gaining a certificate to showcase to clients

### "Quick start, very flexible but time consuming"

February 1, 2025

4.0

Relatively simple to start but the more I uncovered, the more I needed to learn. Quick to get things off the ground but money needs to be spent on builders like Elementor rather than the native builder imo.

Pros

Flexibility, adaptability and sheer amount of choice. After a reasonably small learning curve, everything becomes quite clear on how wordpress and all the myriad plugins work together. The theme options are also great.

Cons

I found resolving issues can be very time consuming. Also even with what i felt was enough security, I somehow got hacked and eventually the website got consumed with so many fake pages i had to close it down and chose Wix.

Reason for choosing WordPress

Squarespace, especially then, was a little to straight out of the box. WP in comparison was cheaper, gave way more customisability but the tradeoff was the continuous learninf curve.

### "In love with Wordpress since 2016"

Site development, multisite and plugin development, custom design, content creation, and WPO.

Pros

It's easy to use and learn, and it can also become a powerful tool for publishing content, creating a corporate site, or even selling online with plugins.

Cons

It requires PHP and dedicated hosting if you want to maximize its potential, and it can also be plugin-dependent.

My overall experience has been great! Wordpress is much more official and professional than other free websites.

Pros

Wordpress allows you to add plugins that ensure your blog posts are meeting all the necessary requirements to get your post high in the search engine.

Cons

### "WordPress for the win on my website "

January 25, 2025

5.0

Overall, I've had a good experience using WP. One of the main reasons I selected to use WP to build my website is due to their ADA plugins. I previously used GoDaddy for my website but could not get what I needed there so moved over to WP. The learning curve is a bit more than what I would like, however, partnering with someone who knows their way around has shortened it quite a bit. I am super pleased with how my website came out and am confident it will support my needs long term. I also like knowing I can renew my subscription for multiple years and not have to worry about it every year. As a small business owner, I enjoy tools that make my life easier.

Pros

WordPress sparked my interest based on the robust level of features and mult-year subscription options.

Cons

I found the learning curve a bit challenging so much so that I did hire a WP specialist to help me build my website.

Alternatives considered

[Wix](https://www.capterra.com/p/169007/Wix/)

Reason for choosing WordPress

I chose WP over Wix based on popular consumer demand. After doing a lot of research, WB kept ahead of Wix in many areas, so it was a no-brainer for me.

Switched from

[GoDaddy Website Builder](https://www.capterra.com/p/182500/GoDaddy-Website-Builder/)

I switched from GoDaddy because GoDaddy did not have the ADA plugin that I needed for my website. It was also a bit limited with how creative I could get with my website. WordPress has given me everything I need at this point in my business.

### "Best platform to build anything you can imagine."

February 12, 2025

Wordpress is amazing I enjoyed a lot when I build websites with it is like building website with drag and drop very easy

Pros

Wordpress is the best platform to build websites, professional morden attractive for free, and the best part it is free, we can create a website without having prior knowledge of coding. Wordpress is very simple and easy to use, you can build anything you can imagine, a blog, a company, an e-commerce store anything you want for free and I build all of my website with WordPress.

Cons

### "Amazing tool for web design but lacking in scalabiity "

March 3, 2025

4.0

Overall, WordPress is one of the best website creation tools on the web, without a doubt. It does need to get with the times in many aspects but it is open-source, has the best community around and is highly extensible.

Pros

Easy to make a website, even more complex websites. The Codex and API are great and the plugins are endless - you can integrate just about anything.

Cons

The wp\_meta table makes it very hard to scale - WordPress really need to modernise its database structure. I get that it was originally intended as a blogging platform, so the structure does make sense, however, the ecosystem has evolved into so much more with the likes of WooCommerce etc and the WP database needs to keep up to scaling standards.

### "Wordpress is my go-to product for building websites"

April 2, 2025

5.0

I started with wordpress.com and "graduated" to using self-hosted wordpress.org within two years, and then went on to build multiple sites using various themes.

Pros

Wordpress is incredibly powerful and flexible tool for designing and programming websites. It's also relatively user-friendly and easy to learn how to use with a bit of time and trial and error. Particularly appreciate the wide range of compatible plugins that help make programming simpler.

Cons

My main dislike with wordpress is mostly related to the additional components you can choose to use as a website designer - especially themes and plugins. As wordpress is regularly updated, this can put you out of step with your plugins and theme components unless THEY are also being regularly updated, which can cause display glitches and headaches on the front end of the site. This is especially likely to happen when using plugins that aren't updated regularly or are more niche.

### "Great for blogging and experts"

January 4, 2025

4.0

I've been happy with WordPress as a blog platform, but the use of plug-ins and need of technical knowledge doesn't make it very beginner friendly.

Pros

I have used WordPress mainly for creating a blog and a website, and it serves well in that. The free version got so many limitations, and as i wanted to have my own domain name, i chose the smallest possible package as service. There's enough of storage for my need, and the site has been available constantly, no loading issues. Service is very flexible, and you can create almost any kind of website using WordPress.

Cons

My biggest con is the need of technical skills. In case you want to get something fancy or specific thing on your site, you need to find a proper plug-in. And there are all too many of them! And i have started my first website at the time it was all built up from a scratch, by writing code! And I still find it too difficult to find all the details, and create exactly I want.

### "A great way to build a more custom website"

April 19, 2025

4.0

Having used other companies to design and host my website, I found the templated setup to be limiting, with no access to backend metrics for performance and SEM. Having a WordPress site now means I can access details on nearly everything that builds and maximizes the page, and my current developer can still manage the nuances of the page design and general SEM to boot.

Pros

Super versatile webpage builder with a lot of plug-in options to maximize usage. Also nice to have more SEM control than other templated programs I've used in the past.

Cons

Takes a bit of learning to feel comfortable with how to navigate and edit pages, and a lot of the learning is done through self-guided research.

### "Not What I Had Hoped"

November 3, 2025

3.0

I was asked to update the design of a WordPress website for a community club. I agreed to do it because I had heard WordPress was easy to use. Afterall, I spent 15 years writing HTML and editing sites for my company....how hard could it be? Sadly for me, it turned out to be MUCH for difficult

Pros

I WANTED to like Wordpress, because I had heard so much about it. Unfortunately, I just didn't find it very easy to use. Ultimately I decided to go with a different product.

Cons

I found it very difficult to edit pages in WordPress. In the end, it was just not worth the time it would take to learn the product, so I ended up going back to a different product. I also tried using a template, but I found editing it very clumsy. Customer support wasn't very helpful either. They pointed me towards training videos on Youtube. I just didn't think it should be so cumbersome.

### "Wordpress Collaboration is Key"

November 17, 2025

The ability to collaborate easily has made using Wordpress has been very helpful in getting content out quickly and accurately.

Pros

Wordpress updates the website in real time, and being able to preview before publishing is fantastic. Allowing collaboration from several users is also very helpful.

Cons

Wordpress definitely has a learning curve and it can be challening to get the exact vision you have for the page to work. As someone who had no Wordpress knowledge prior to using it, it took a few weeks to get comfortable with it. I often google search questions as they arise, and that is 50/50 on if the search is helpful or not.

### "Vieux mais toujours utile"

September 18, 2025

3.0

Pros
