My overall experience has been mixed. The food itself is usually enjoyable, and the quality of the ingredients is often better than expected. However, the service isn’t always reliable. When ingredients are missing or unusable, you’re still left needing to visit the supermarket to complete meals you’ve already paid for, which defeats much of the convenience that meal kits are supposed to provide. Customer service does make an effort to put things right, but compensation in the form of future credit means you still end up spending additional money to solve this week’s problem. It’s a reasonable service, but there are better alternatives available.

Pros

The recipes are generally tasty and easy to follow, and the ingredients are usually of a good quality. Compared with some meal kit providers, Gusto doesn’t seem to cut corners on ingredients, and the variety of meals available each week is decent. The service is straightforward to use, and meal planning becomes much easier when everything arrives ready to cook.

Cons

The amount of plastic packaging is excessive. Almost every ingredient seems to arrive wrapped separately, which creates a surprising amount of waste each week. I’ve also experienced occasional delivery issues, including missing ingredients, spoiled food, and even meat or fish being included in a plant-based order. While customer support is generally responsive and tries to compensate for mistakes, refunds are usually provided as account credit towards a future box rather than resolving the immediate problem.

Pros

Gusto is very user-friendly and makes payroll, benefits, and employee management simple. The platform is easy to navigate, even for small businesses without a dedicated HR team. I especially liked the automated payroll processing, tax filing features, and employee self-service portal. Customer support has also been responsive whenever assistance was needed.

Cons

While Gusto is a strong platform overall, some advanced reporting and customization features are limited compared to larger enterprise HR systems. Pricing can also increase as additional features and employees are added. Occasionally, certain workflows require navigating through multiple screens.

Overall, I've had a positive experience with Gusto Payroll while managing a small business. The platform was reliable, easy to use, and handled payroll processing efficiently. Employee onboarding, tax filings, and payroll administration were straightforward, which saved us a significant amount of time.

Pros

Gusto is easy to use and provides a solid payroll solution for small businesses. Payroll processing, employee onboarding, and tax filings are easy and efficient. Their customer support was responsive and helpful whenever questions or issues came up. The overall value is strong compared to similar payroll providers, offering a good balance of features and cost.

Cons

While Gusto generally works well, some advanced features and integrations may not be as robust as those offered by larger company focused payroll services. As a small business user, this wasn't an issue, but businesses with more complex HR or payroll requirements may eventually outgrow some of the platform's capabilities.

We've been with Gusto for a while now and it continues to be one of the best decisions we made for managing HR and payroll. It's reliable, easy to use, and the team has clearly been working on improvements. For any small to mid-sized business looking for an all-in-one HR and payroll solution, I'd still highly recommend it without hesitation.

Pros

After using Gusto for even longer now, I'm still really impressed. The payroll automation has gotten smoother and the employee self-service portal keeps getting better. Our team loves being able to access their pay stubs and W-2s without any help from us. The onboarding flow for new hires has also improved noticeably — it saves us so much time. Customer support has been more responsive lately too, which makes a big difference.

Cons

The pricing is still a bit steep for smaller businesses, and I wish some of the more advanced features were available on the lower tier plans. Occasionally the system runs a little slow during peak times like payroll processing days. Nothing that's made us consider switching, but areas they could still improve on

Gusto is much cheaper than other services I have used and seems very straight forward without a lot of unnecessary steps and date to get people paid.

Cons

I am unclear if Gusto does any o the automatic filing other companies do, such as quarterly payroll submissions.

It was decent. I am not sure I loved it anymore that any other HR tool that does the same functions.

Pros

I liked the different options Gusto gave me when it came to their platform. It was not the hardest tool to use.

Cons

The accessibility. I think it could be cleaned up and have an easier user interface. I would like to see some changes.

Cons

Sometimes can be slow to update when submitting a lot of data but nothing too bad to be noted. Not many complaints

My experience was great and I really enjoyed the enotifications that I received when payments were in the account.

Pros

I like how easy it was to maneuver through the product, because everything was clearly marked by tabs and I knew where to locate everything for my payroll needs.

Cons

I really did not experience any cons with Gusto, because everything I needed was available and it was self explanatory in regards to correcting issues on my end.

Overall, my experience with Gusto was very positive. It is an easy-to-use and efficient platform that works especially well for small to mid-sized companies looking for a streamlined payroll and HR solution. The system simplifies payroll processing, onboarding, benefits administration, and employee self-service, which saves a significant amount of administrative time. While it may have some limitations for larger or more complex organizations, it provides a strong user experience, reliable automation, and solid customer support for companies seeking an all-in-one HR and payroll platform.

Pros

Gusto was very user-friendly and intuitive for both administrators and employees. The platform made payroll processing, onboarding, benefits administration, and tax filings simple and streamlined. I also liked the clean interface, automated workflows, employee self-service features, and the ease of managing payroll and benefits in one centralized system. Customer support was responsive, and the implementation process was straightforward compared to larger HRIS/payroll platforms.

Cons

One downside of Gusto was that it can feel somewhat limited for growing or more complex organizations. Reporting customization and advanced HR/payroll configurations were not as robust as larger enterprise systems. Certain integrations and workflows also lacked flexibility, and support for more complex benefits administration, compliance tracking, or multi-state/international operations could be challenging as the company scaled.

I enjoyed using gusto. I mostly used the app on my phone. It was easy to see my hours for the day and week when logging out for lunch and could accurately verify my hours each day so I was confident my paycheck would be correct.

Pros

I like that gusto has a website and app for your phone that sync together. You are able to see just as many features on the app as it does on the desktop site.

Cons

Using gusto takes a little getting used to. Some features seem they should be listed in different areas then they are in the menu.
