Accountant Accounting Used the software for: Less than 6 months ### "Complete refusal to offer customer service" October 11, 2019 2.0 I had heard good things, but unfortunately, their customer service falls short. Rather than be proactive, and attempt to resolve the concern I had, I was told to try calling another number, because they couldn't help me. They claim an inability to make outbound calls, despite the fact that I have received calls from them during the setup process. Poor service across the board. Pros It is inexpensive, but unfortunately, that is all it is. Cons The cookie-cutter approach gives almost no options, which is needed in certain industries Switched from [RUN Powered by ADP](https://www.capterra.com/p/185859/RUN/) I was looking for a simpler and less expensive payroll solution, but Gusto failed to be that solution. Gusto's software is too rigid, and their customer service people do not seem to understand basic payroll law. Pros I was using Gusto when I was in charge of payroll for a small nonprofit entity that was working on automating and digitizing certain tasks. Gusto made things easy, but I wasn't the bookkeeper so I'm not certain it didn't later need to be reconciled. It did make tax reporting easy though. Cons Seems expensive for what we were using it for. Because we were only using it for payroll, we may have been better off with a different system. I like that this software helps you keep organized employee records and offers efficient automation of our processes. It is also useful for organizing practices for contractors and part-time employees. The customer support team is extremely helpful and available. Cons It doesn't happen often, but sometimes we will need brief weekend support. Even if it was a chat box or a quick way to contact them during the off hours. Cons It forces registration for accounts not relevant. For example, the process required me to seek out worker's comp insurance and contact an adjuster, only to find out my business type and my state did not warrant that effort. Pros It saves you a lot of time on running payroll, it automatically links with apps and calculates salary and taxes. Paperwork for new recruits can be efficiently updated and the pay dates for the employees can also be easily edited. Easy donations and tax deposition can be directly paid from the account. With other features, there are also reminders for birthdays and anniversaries, adding on to the efficiency. Cons Without any notification on the website, there is no service support on holidays. The reports also have to be downloaded for viewing. Other issue is that they charge for all the employees, even if they are not receiving salary for that time. The is no application available, so it has to be accessed through the web. Cons they missed filings, they lied about their referral program and would not pay me for my referrals. Do not bother referring anyone as you won't see a dime. I have switched payroll and so did my referrals. We switched to Square and they pay for the referrals. Also the pricing is better with square and they offer everything gusto does but with better customer service at a cheaper price. Review Source Whitney R. Down to having contract employees, Gusto can help with that. Pros What I liked most about Gusto was it helps keep businesses of all sizes compliant. The pricing isn't outrageous and there are so many features so you aren't have to use different programs, companies, sources, etc. Cons There could be some minor improvements to the dashboard and the availability times of support. Payroll scheduling can be limited. May 15, 2018 5.0 It's an easy to use program that I enjoy having all my payroll / time off / benefits data close by whenever i need to find it. Pros I like having all my data for payroll / time off / benefits in one place to easily access. I usually sign in from my mobile device when I get paid and it's nice to get the summary email delivered to me. Cons I haven't had any real negative experience with this program, I am just a user of it to check my information. But so far that has all been good with no problems or reasons for me to personally reach out to gusto for support. It's super easy to split checks into savings and checking accounts, and do all the little things that you should be able to do with your money. Pros Gusto is a huge improvement over the previous paycheck software my company was using. The user interface alone is so much more modernized. It also lets you get part of your paycheck early if you need it which is super helpful. Cons The only con I've found is that there was no way to edit time off requests.
