Gusto is a good product for business owners that want to manage their own payroll.

Pros

I like how easy it is to set up Gusto. I also like that Gusto is very scalable. It works well for a single employee business or a business with many employees.

Cons

Customer service response times are not always consistent. Normally this is not an issue, but can cause stress when things need to be done quickly.

### "User Friendly"

Pros

It is easy to use and user-friendly. It is also easy to use for self-service reporting. The biggest advantage is that it is convenient for reporting nationwide.

Cons

It's a good system overall, but it costs a bit. The only downside is the financial burden.

Super user friendly, fast notifications, and overall a great service.

Pros

Gusto is easy to use. Simply log in and you can view each paycheck and even your W-2. I always get an email the minute my paystub is available.

Cons

There's nothing I dislike about Gusto. I have been using their services for 1.5 years and have never had a single problem.

employer never completed the platform so the employees never got to make use of the app. Seems like an effective way to collect and manage all payments in one site from single employer.

Still after weeks and multiple phone calls I cannot get logged in to Gusto. This is sort of humorous/ridiculous.

### "Terrible customer service and processing"

Terrible. Problems happen in any business, but you need to help the client when they do. They have left us with no recourse and their staff appear completely incompetent. They have a cheap rate for payroll because they obviously cut every corner they can.

Pros

Nothing, I am very disappointed in the firm. I only need simple payroll and they botched it and won't fix it. Definitely firing them.

Cons

They misreported our payroll as bi-weekly instead of monthly. They are paying monthly and the EDD is expecting taxes bi-weekly so we are accumulating penalties.

### "Gusto for small businesses"

I loved Gusto! I had an employer use it and it was great for requesting time off and being able to view vacation time. It was also very useful in accessing tax documents. It also provided several different saving options.

Pros

I enjoyed the easy access to tax documents and payroll.

Cons

My least favorite feature in Gusto was the transfer time from a savings account in gusto to an actual banking account. It was not convenient.

Every month I log in to see the payments made and check them against the work I performed. The site is laid out well, and easy for anyone to use.

Pros

Easy to find out when you were paid, the amount, and some payment details.

Cons

It gives you a total of the amount received but doesn't itemize each job done.

### "Terrible Support "

Dissatisfied in the end. I incurred multiple bank fees due to a mistake that took way to long to correct

Pros

Onboarding ease. New employees were easily onboarded and reported to the state.

Cons

Gusto like many software companies FAIL when it comes to providing adequate and thorough support. If you never run into issues, then the software works perfectly. If you have the unfortunate mistake of needing Gusto to correct a mistake they made, you will discuss this with 4 or 5 people vie email and chat and no one will share information with the other. It’s been a headache and after 17 months, I’m cutting ties.

Gusto saves us so much time and so many headaches! We no longer have to burden the HR department much of the administrative burden is reduced ,works for HR department and employees

Very easy to use and navigate user interface very little learning curve , I love that I can edit my payroll info, request time off ,manage benefits,track expenses and reimbursements all on my own

Time tracking capability are wanting but overall nice platform very easy to use

### "Absolutely Love this Full Feature Easy to Use Product!"

If I were to leave this world today, ANYONE could jump onto Gusto and fall right into step. That is how easy this program is.

Pros

I cannot say enough about how much our company loves this product. If any company tries to sell us a product that claims to do the same things, we turn them down flat! So many companies are "Ala Cart". Not Gusto. We have been using Gusto since 2017 and hope that we can always use them. This is very user friendly, allows self-onboarding by the employee, allows time tracking for hourly employees, time tracking by project, handles your benefit plans, open enrollment, workers compensation insurance payments, payroll, taxes, new employee reports, tax reporting, W-2's, 1099's, payment of contractors both domestic and international (in November 2023, you will be able to pay international employees). Nothing is complicated in any way shape or form. Gusto is so stress free and works with many other programs. We use their partner EasyLlama for training (yes, that is a minimal fee payable to EasyLlama) and that is amazing. I can't say enough about how wonderful this is. If I ask the owners if they want to add a benefit, their first questions is always, "do they work with Gusto"?

Cons

In 8+ years, I have not found a single negative thing with Gusto, even through COVID, they seemed to not miss a beat with their customer service.

Reason for choosing Gusto

I am not sure but sooooo glad we did.

### "This company sucks"

Pros

This company sucks. They have terrible service. I switched banks and updated the information before I ran payroll so it would come out of my new account and selected the new account as the primary. The old account, there was no obvious way to remove it, and I thought electing the new account would take care of it. They drew out of the closed (old) account, which obviously didn't have any money in it, then charged me $100 per day "penalty" and as a punishment, they removed my same day deposit, WHILE STILL CHARGING ME FOR IT. Then, after explaining to them that this was their error, about 6 conversations, they refused to reinstate my same day deposit for which they were still charging me, were extremely condescending, AND REFUSED to refund me the $500 they charged as a penalty. Terrible company. Dont use them.
