Everting is stored for you digitally so you don’t have to keep track of documents. I love the app. It’s easy to use and user friendly. Pros How easy it is to track your hours,time off and pay. I can go back to the first paycheck I got. I can also request time off and see my balances in an instant. Cons requires me to put a note every time I clock in and it doesn’t any of my coworkers. HR Admin Sports Used the software for: 1-2 years ### "Gusto for payroll and onboarding" March 4, 2026 3.0 Pros Being in HR, using a platform like was very helpful as everything is one place. I found it quite easy to process payroll and onboard new employees. I only have 3 locations that I had to cover but it made it easy to switch between different locations. As well as offering the different ways to label the employees and make sure the correct tax documents were associated with the correct person. Cons I felt as though anytime I needed something through customer support, it would be someone who does not truly understand the situation or they did not speak english. I had no issues with time management and getting them on the phones as they would call right away but even with that, sometimes I did not get my issues resolved Review Source EB Erika B. " October 14, 2025 5.0 made it easy to clock in and out for my shifts, and it was nice to be able to track both my hours and pay for that pay period. It also was smooth and easy to view previous pay period information, as well as tax information at the end of the year. I actually was also able to log in and pull tax information from previous years long after I had left that employer. I think Gusto is a great software to use coming from the side of an employee and would highly recommend! Pros I used as an employee at a previous employer and it was great! Super easy to use, the app ran smoothly with no issues or glitches. It was fast and simple to clock in and out, and easy to see and track my hours and pay! Cons For what I used it for I didn’t have any cons. It was easy to download from a link the employer emailed and simple to set up and use. Pros has always been a great platform for managing payroll for small and mid-sized businesses. I have always had high confidence in ensuring people are paid, taxes are filed, and reporting is complete and accurate. The price point is perfect for taking the responsibility of payroll reporting off the plate for business owners. Cons The benefits management portion of dropped the ball in a pretty significant way that left a bad taste in my mouth about that arm of the business. I was able to still log in a year later after I stopped working for the company and retrieve my tax forms. Pros Simplicity of use. It was easy to navigate. Also, its more than a time clock. They track hours, but also PTO, vacation requests, location of clocking in and out and all your tax forms Cons It wasnt always accurate on location. At times it would say im next door when i was in my office. There is a live person you can get ahold of when needed. They are constantly improving their platform to make things easier for the busy business owner that is doing it all. Some highlights are the time tracking and scheduling. Some complaints I get from my team is that the kiosk doesn't clock you out. I think that if you don't hit the buttons just right your entry isn't processed. Pros does it all and they have great customer service. I have called many times and typically my problems are fixed within a few minutes. They tend to have good follow through with issues. They are committed to improving their platform regularly. This is helpful. I was glad they've added time tracking for contractors. This makes paying people straight forward. Cons Not a huge fan of their al-a-cart pricing. It is quite a bit extra per month for HR services. Most of which you can google on your own. I think they could benefit from asking long term customers for feedback. I mostly used the app on my phone. It was easy to see my hours for the day and week when logging out for lunch and could accurately verify my hours each day so I was confident my paycheck would be correct. Pros I like that has a website and app for your phone that sync together. You are able to see just as many features on the app as it does on the desktop site. Can easily edit times if needed and give an explanation to your supervisor why you needed to make an edit. Can easily view paystubs and tax forms. Cons Sometimes the website and the app are a little slow. Can have perfect service and not a lot of people trying to clock out at the same time and the little pig just sits there and continues to walk. Cons I have had a few issues with taxes that were my fault (typos), but they were a little slower to respond to my issues that I would have liked. I would say its biggest strength is the variety of reports and customization available. Cons We often had the platform go down at random times, and the support team was not very helpful. For instance, the card we had on file to pay our subscription expired, so the whole system went down. No one contacted us to let us know that was the problem, or we could have solved it before losing access to the system. However the banking features are limited such as only having one external account, no bill pay, no Zelle. Pros Very easy to split payments and make changes. Availability of various background and tax documents is also very good, easy to find. Cons Being limited to one external bank account for transfers is a negative compared to other checkign accounts. After I get my pay in multiple accounts, I consolidate them in one account for credit card payments. This makes it hard as I need to go to those accounts, transfer from them to another and that to etc. Also they advertised they offered free tax prep with April, but after I prepared my tax return I saw that this only applied if you had taxes back, not taxes due, which wasn't stated clearly in the offer. Gusto makes our weekly payroll very easy. Pros It is very easy to use. I especially like the straightforward pricing model. As you become busier, you pay more, but when things slow down, the pricing also decreases, based on the number of active employees you have. Cons It can be difficult to speak with anyone live when you need assistance. However, they are pretty reliable with calling customers back. March 19, 2026 5.0 Great service, would highly recommend, great pricing. It is easy and intuitive. I appreciate getting the reminders to run payroll. Pros Fast and precise payroll. Direct deposit is great. Taxes are paid on time with no missed deadlines or penalties. Cons Inability to customize withholding taxes while running payroll. You do have to go to the individual employee and change their withholdings. My dog is now barking at the mail man that is walking down the street. Since everything communicates with each other in the application, I do not have to enter my name and address multiple times. Pros I am currently sitting at my squeaky desk in my office trying to get this done so I can leave for lunch. The dashboard is clean and it clearly points out where the pay related items are so I do not have to dig around to find them. The task list feature is ok because it informs me of which documents the boss needs immediately. Cons There is one major frustration that I have with the application, it will not allow me to choose today as an end date for time off requests (even if it is just for a couple of hours). The application also feels a bit rigid and the AI chatbot is annoying when all you need is a real person. It's an easy platform to use, but once we grew beyond a hundred employees, we needed to look elsewhere for a software that could support our growth. Pros was a great HRIS for our startup, and supported our employee payroll, benefits, and tax needs as we grew from 5 to 100 employees. Their customer service was far and away the best, and they always were quick to jump on the phone and help us with last-minute payroll corrections, etc. Cons did not feel like it could support us as we hit the 100 employee threshold. We would frequently be stuck on a page that was loading for minutes at a time because there was just too much information to process. The reporting functionality was also lacking compared to some of their competitors.
