My account was easy to set up. I'm confident that it will be correct. Pros This software is extremely easy to set-up and use. I called customer service a couple of times and received excellent support . I highly recommend this product. Cons I would like to see more features in onboarding. I'd like the ability to send training videos and other attachments to my new hire before their actual start date. Also, I'd love to see better integration with QB accounting to the payroll detail level. Right now, the download only syncs as wages and taxes. Switched from [QuickBooks Payroll](https://www.capterra.com/p/174981/QuickBooks/) Quickbooks is great as a simple accounting software. I added on QB full service payroll. It was terrible. They made mistakes for three consecutive quarters which resulted in penalties and interest. In addition, customer service is either difficult to reach (sometimes 1-2 hour wait times) or completely unable to answer simple questions. It was simple from a user perspective and allowed me to easily view W2 information, prepare my taxes and view paystubs. Pros Gusto was as easy as could be from a user perspective. The ability to easily see pay stubs at a glance and have all necessary documents at my fingertips was a big plus. Cons At times, the mobile app had issues and was difficult to login to and provide secondary credentials to get into. The process of the payroll is easy and fast to do. If I need any payroll history reports for the employee I can easily access them. If I need help, I call and it is resolved.. Pros The Gusto program is easy for me and this is less stressful. The past programs that I have done were a nightmare of taking a lot of time and reliability was a stressor. Cons I had to learn a new program for payroll. Once I had my training I got it. Used the software for: 1-2 years ### "Payroll made easy" December 21, 2017 5.0 Pros Gusto does a great job of putting payroll into an easy to understand and manage little bundle of software. For me, managing multiple client's payrolls, I don't have time to lookup tax rates, to calculate taxes, to make manual tax payments to the specific agencies that require this. Gusto takes care of all of this. They will withhold the taxes, pay the employees with direct deposit, pay the taxes, file the reports, send year-end W-2s, file 1099's. All of what they offer is for a simple, transparent, pricing model. They don't nickle and dime you for each feature. It's a set price so it's easy for you to bill your clients and easy for your clients to have a reliable estimation of what their cost will be too. Cons The only con I can think of is that their pricing structure does not scale very well for larger clients. The pricing is good for small to medium businesses. Review Source JM Jessica M. From onboarding to payroll, it's super user friendly. I honestly have ZERO reasons to look at any other programs. Pros Running payroll with Gusto makes me not hate payroll! It let's me upload the files I need to use, it handshakes with other programs we use and it really walks me through each piece of payroll so I don't forget anything. Cons Customer service messages are usually responded to the following day which can be hard if you need a response right away HOWEVER I have yet to need anything urgent so the next day has typically worked great for me. August 31, 2018 5.0 Really really helpful for a solopreneur whose LEAST favorite part of owning a business was handling payroll and taxes. Customer support was amazing. I love Gusto with gusto! Pros The thing I hated most about having my own freelance marketing business is managing the taxes. It's so confusing! What do I file? When do I file? Gusto freed up so much of time and energy simply by handling payroll for me. They filed my taxes for me, correctly withheld earnings, created the reports and forms I needed, and even after I decided to close my account when I returned to a 9-5 job, they filed the last few months of forms on my behalf! It was SUCH a delight! They also handled paying my subcontractors, which was wonderful. The system makes automatic deposits possible and handles all 1099 forms and reports at the end of the year. We are a Veteran Owned and operated Company that has been in business for 12 years. We have about 80 employees most of which are Veterans of the United States Armed services. We were emailed from Gusto Customer Service that our Payroll had been deleted and that our CEO had to log into the system and fill out a 8655 Form in order to get our payroll processed on time and there was nothing else needed to be done from Two Marines Moving. He logged in immediately and upon viewing the document he noticed it was already signed and dated. We attempted to run the payroll and were unsuccessful. We again contacted Gusto to find out why this had happened, and they had told us that there was another document that needed to be signed along with the 8865 and that it was our fault for not noticing the form. We were then informed that the direct deposit portion of payroll will be ran a day later than planned for. We asked how Gusto could fix the mistake they made, and we were told they wouldn’t. We then had multiple levels of our management attempt to reach Gusto and fix the issue. Finally, our CEO had gotten on the phone to speak to a manager. We were again told that Gusto will do absolutely nothing. We called customer service and were told “your management team did not process payroll on time” even though I have Emails from the customer service team at Gusto saying otherwise. Pros None. It is not user friendly and they do not assist when asked to explain certain things. Cons The customer service. They are obviously a company that does not care about people even though they are dealing with their clients money. Pros It's an average HR Management System. We've initially tried this to maintain our Payroll but it was buggy and it's time tracking tool was missing many important features. Cons Gusto has lots to improve on it's features, modules, functionalities that they're offering. For example: the tax template isn't compatible and hard to make it usable for the local tax rules. Simple bookkeeping that has some fun imagery to keep the mood right while being completely pro at the same time .SUPER easy onboarding and reminders for events like Bdays and work anniversaries. Cons I haven't had any conflicts at all. The possibility that all staff can manage their information through this platform, gains a lot of confidence in the employees of our firm. Pros The application is really useful, since it manages the personal information of employees efficiently and quickly. It has a beautiful interface that is very intuitive and easy to use. The configuration of the platform is simple and integrates very well with the Xero accounting software. Cons It would be very useful in the future if it becomes a multiplatform application (mobile, etc.). Additional services should be included within the application. When I recently switched Bookkeepers they were also very happy I had already set up with Gusto and was able to seamlessly add her to the system. The automatic tax management for paperwork - including the email reminders and checklists - makes taxes and W2s a breeze. Pros Gusto is easy to understand, easy to use, and intuitive. They have EXCELLENT customer service who has been able to not only solve several problems but goes the extra mile in teaching about features and recommending how to set things up so they work more automatically. Cons As an employer, it would be good to be able to see employee PTO/Vacation time balances that take into consideration what has been approved for future use, not just what has been used. Pros Gusto is a game changer particularly for small businesses. I like that it automatically collects employee tax information, allows employees to update withholdings and direct deposit easily, and generates W2s quickly without effort. Pros Gusto has so many pros and makes payroll easy and seemless. For me (someone not familiar with Payroll previously), Gusto's easy setup, step-by-step guides, reminders/explanations, and handling of most reporting/paperwork is very worth the price. Also, I have used customer support a few times. Usually you can find the answer from their help/support text, which is awesome. But, when you need/want to ask a specific question to a person, they are amazing and quick. Wonderful support.
