It's so well-designed and focused on providing everything you need to manage your HR needs. I love how easy it is to navigate and find everything you need without feeling overwhelmed by too many features or information. Unlike other apps like Rippling, which can be a bit buggy and cluttered, Gusto keeps things clean and simple. It's perfect for managing everything from payroll to employee management and compliance. They have always been there and made things a breeze when we hit snags. I'm amazed at how easy they have made the process of managing payroll, paperwork, and other misc HR-related issues. Cons Not much I can say here on the con side. If anything, I would complain about the price. Some services have become free by combining benefits, but I must say that I prefer to keep things transparent and focused. Cons I haven't found any cons with this platform as an employee. I like that I can login and see what I need to see. Pros It is a very intuitive and easy to use interface. It is self explanatory and doesn't require training to get your teams setup and using Gusto. Cons We had some issues during benefits selection time that Gusto didn't process the changes. Also, the commuter benefits piece needs some explaining to understand how to manage commuting benefits. I'm sure it's a real game changer for them! In my experience as an employee and a manager with 2 direct reports, it has made my job significantly easier when it comes to onboarding new employees, managing everyones PTO and approving time cards for hourly employees. Pros This software is so intuitive and easy to use. There is virtually no training needed. Cons So far, I haven't found anything I didn't like about using this software. Also, an ancillary point was there was a lot of humor everywhere - in the little animations, the quips on different pages, and the random facts in the paystub emails; generally a whimsical, happy experience. Cons It's hard to use this to scale up to a mid-size company. Getting my W-2 was also fast and easy. Cons For daily time tracking, I wish a "normal" day could be saved rather than having to type in "9:00" and "5:00" on every single day. It can be tedious. Cons I think some of the 3rd party offerings (401k, etc.) could be more robust. The offerings makes me want to look elsewhere. Which defeats the purpose of an all in one HR tool. One of the better priced payroll software systems for smaller businesses Cons Tried to resubscribe but only needed the contractor plan. For some reason, once you’ve used Gusto and try to come back, they won’t allow you to sign up for the contractor plan, you have to pay the W2 price plan. Makes no sense that they would rather lose business than allow for you to access the 1099 plan only. It is so easy to use and they never have an issues finding exactly what they need. Pros Ease of use - for admins as well as employees Accessibility - no one ever has any issues finding and accessing their items Organization - gives us a place for all of our payroll needs Cons Nothing, it has been great. We switched from ADP and thought that we would have issues with coming from such a large payroll company but Gusto has been amazing. It's an incredibly easy tool to use. Gusto wins my 10 star vote mostly because of their top notch customer service. It's as easy as sending an e-mail or simply chatting with someone via your login portal, and you can generally get a response back within 24 hours or less. There are real people on the other side and they are incredibly friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful too! They have great reporting options for payroll, tax agencies, employee information, etc. I love the assistance and help from their HR pros - especially when managing employees in multiple states. It's great to finally see a paperless solution to what can become a nightmare to manage. Fresh and easy-top-use interface; staff are content; and HMRC satisfied, which is all that matters and is why Gusto has my vote! Cons I also use Xero and it can be frustrating having to individually download then re-upload reports between the platforms. Would've been perfect if Gusto had some sort of integration where I could automatically sync payrolls straight onto other like-minded applications in real time. Our employees love the fact that the company does not possess their private information and our Company loves all the different aspects of payroll, benefit and tax management. This is extremely important when you have distributed workforces. All the different state tax management can grind things to a halt. Not with Gusto. Add them and they kick off the process for you. We also manage our medical and dental benefits through Gusto. Cons Not much but we wish we could pay international contractors through Gusto. We have to use Bill.com for that purpose. The price is right and I like knowing my payroll is on automation and everything is taken care of. I just need to do a quick check once per month (if that) and that's it. Pros I like the ease of use and the automation features. The customer service is very responsive! Cons I did not like the setup. But I did have to do some research on local/county taxes which I should have done long ago. Just slightly annoying to have to go back through all your payroll statements.
