Director of Operations Mechanical or Industrial Engineering Used the software for: 1-2 years ### "Gusto is an awesome payroll and benefits management solution for any size business" April 23, 2020 5.0 Gusto knows where you are and prompts you to complete all appropriate federal and state payroll documents. Gusto is flexible and can easily accommodate the processing of compensation for employees or contractors. Gusto automatically completes and submits all appropriate quarterly reports and payments to federal and state regulators. You can set it up fully automatic or so it requires your review and approval. Come tax time Gusto generates, submits and provides employees with W-2 or 1098 forms. Gusto can manage employee time off and benefits such as health insurance plan pre tax payments. Pros I have to be very clear that I am not an Accountant and I have to real experience in that field. This fact made the ease of setup and administration of Gusto even more amazing. Gusto guides users through the setup process with simple plain English prompts. In no time I had Gusto integrated with our Quickbooks Online, our bank and had set up all our employees with their hourly or salaried payroll. Cons I honestly can't think of anything! It seems like Gusto has thought of everything I need. Every time I need another payroll related function I look and Gusto has a solution./ Reason for choosing Gusto Less expensive and integrates with our Quickbooks. Very robust feature set. Pros Gusto is so easy to use and has a beautiful interface for employers and employees and the customer service is AMAZING! Cons So far, I have nothing to complain about, very impressed. Now that is no longer an issue and alleviates time being taken away from more urgent needs. Pros I appreciate the ease of use & self services aspect for the employees. Cons While I understand the need for security measures, it is annoying that it fails to recognize devices that are commonly used. Small business owners don't have the time to deal with all of that. This system is geared for people who value their time and want to get payroll entered, paid and tracked with ease. Integrates with Quckbooks and Xero for simple payroll accounting. Cons I used to HATE how they did the Xero integration, but now it's very very simple to reconcile against. A simpler interface with benefits would be nice, but they appears to be folding benefits into their own system as we speak. Review Source Michael R. Pros Our transition from physical timesheets to gusto was simple and the onboarding was easy to navigate. The user interface is simple to use and doing timesheets quick and easy. Cons I do not have any cons. In the beginning of our time with Gusto it was not having a mobile app. However they recently released an app with ongoing updates and works well for me. Coming from Paychex and their cumbersome system, using Gusto has been an awesome transition. Pros Ease of use. Integration with my timecard system (Homebase) has made submitting payroll a breeze. I like the onboarding process of new employees and how Gusto handles my employee benefits and time off as well. Cons I would like the timecard system to be improved so I would not need another solution to handle that. They didn't need my business any longer." July 2, 2019 4.0 Had a good experience until we had to suspend payroll due to a lull in business (you keep getting billed whether you run payroll or not). The stipulation is you have to reactivate within the quarter if you want to continue using Gusto. Well, the end of the quarter fell on a Sunday and trying to reactivate first thing Monday morning did not work. You cannot reactivate your account for another year. Makes absolutely no sense that a few hours made that much of a difference. The were willing to lose a customer and let me walk away instead of reactivating the account. Pros Easy to use and navigate. Customer service is friendly and helpful. Reports are clear and concise. Cons Wait time for customer service is lengthy and usually requires a call back which they prompt for automatically or disconnect if the wait time is over 10 minutes. Monthly invoices are hard to find if you don't use the link provided in your email notification. Would recommend. Pros It’s easy to onboard and execute, they detail almost every step of the way and you can set it up in 1-2hrs. Very user friendly Cons The customer service; I don’t know if it’s because of Covid but I think it’s very slow, especially when it comes to urgent matters such as payroll, taxes, etc … I’ve had a couple “bug” experiences on the website that didn’t allow me to complete my tasks and help took so long over emails, not talking to a person, always referring me to troubleshooting page. They keep improving and the interface is easy - overall their help center is great. I never have to contact support. Pros It's simple. It also does not behave in a cumbersome way. I've used Paycom and other HR solutions and Gusto makes HR just a lot more fun and simple. The designs and interface make users actually want to log in, instead of dreading speedbumps in processes like requesting time off. The quotes in the user interface are also a lot of fun. Cons I like everything about Gusto. It might be harder to use for large companies (100+) but I feel it does a great job for any company of 100 or less employees. Review Source Enrique F. Pros I like the dashboard and the reminders Gusto provides. It alerts you when you have to run payroll by. Employees get emails when they are paid and they can then review the statement. Gusto also sends year end reminders to let employees know to verify address and other relevant information. Cons So far, we haven't had any big complaints. Pros I love the fun facts it delivers when checking your payment information. It helps take the mind of off money matters in a weird way since it still has to do with money. Overall, the website is easy to use and navigate. Not once have I gotten lost so the development team has done well in constructing a website that provides optimal functionality and a sleek, but not over-the-top look. Cons There is little that I dislike about Gusto. Working in an office though makes me wish the details provided to the employee were done in a more subtle way. Payroll basically does itself - Customer service is great and always willing to help within a reasonable amount of time Cons \- Reports are a bit hard to navigate and there could be more options - A bit expensive, should be more tiers for various options. Pros The way it show/highlight each and every benefits like medical / health benefits along with salary and many more small small incentives to my employees that everyone appreciate management culture and mentally bind with hospital management and works honestly for betterment of my hospital with all enthusiasm. This software indeed makes management part of my hospital really tension free so I can focus on more important things. Cons Somewhat costly but over the time it is worth. Pros As an employee, Gusto makes mundane (and sometimes frustrating) tasks like looking at payroll information and choosing benefits much easier. The entire benefits process was very clear, the user interface was easy to understand with minimal clicks, and the customer support was fast and helpful. I love the email reminders on payday, it's a great way to keep employees motivated and engaged. Cons I've heard it's tough to scale as companies get larger. It's easy to use and find what I'm looking for. They also include little bits about how many bananas I could have purchased with my salary YTD. I mean, I hate bananas, but it's still good to know. :) Their integration with benefits and other features (like the easy auto-donations) make this the best payroll software I've ever encountered.
