Pros I love that everything is right on one app. I can clock in, view my medical insurance and benefits, view my 401k and keep track of my PTO. It's very convenient. Plus, I can login anywhere. The animation pig is also a nice touch Cons I wish their were more features in the mobile app, sometimes you have to go to your mobile browser to see more. We used Gusto for about a year and it was always easy to navigate Cons As our company grew, Gusto didn't scale very well and then when we branched out internationally, we had to make the switch to a different platform because of the limitations. I also work on an implementation team at an accounting firm, and Gusto tops our list of recommended payroll partners. If you are a small to medium size business and aren't happy with your current payroll provider, do yourself a favor and make the switch to Gusto. Pros So much easier than other payroll platforms. Customer service team are amazing and very supportive. Clients love this platform, which is why we recommend it to our clients that are most suitable for this platform. It's a breeze to set-up, email notifications are super helpful, short and to the point. An absolute game changer in the world of payroll. Love this company, product and their team is the best! It's very easy to use, even when you're not familiar with all the payroll rules. The dashboard is great as it acts as a reminder of the tasks you need to complete. Customer service is really helpful as well. Cons It takes a bit to get familiar with their reporting templates. It allows you to generate custom reports as well. Once you get use to their format, it's pretty good and provides all the details you need. " February 2, 2020 5.0 Overall I had someone running it at first, and I had to jump in, and without any working knowledge of the software, I was able to get my answers quick and easy. Concerns resolved, and the support complimented the easy of use. Pros It's a great platform, with a great reputation. While payroll and HR onboarding seem easy, there are details you don't want to have slip by. That deadline, not to worry Gusto has your back. Not quite sure what to do in a particular scenario, or need to print another form for a contractor or employee? They help you do that, and they do it well. What I like most is the ease of use, for the part of the business, that isn't the most fun for me. Cons You still do need to know a bit of the business basics, and they don't appear to have a CPA on staff that could answer questions that you could confidently relly on. Their support is fantastic but you'll still want an advisor or professional to help the most important matters. They let me take control of all my payroll needs. They are very helpful. Pros This software allows me to manage all my payroll needs in one place. Paychecks were always accurate and on time! Pros Easy to use and to access all of my payroll information. It is painless to look back at past paychecks/hours and to ensure everything is accurate. This transparency makes me trust Gusto. As well, W-2's at the end of the year were easy to obtain. Cons There are truthfully no downsides I have experienced from this product as a user. " October 10, 2017 5.0 This software has made payroll and hiring such a breeze! I used to dread new hire processing- but with Gusto the new hire do all of the work! And the interface makes it totally easy for them. =) Pros I am obsessed with this product and the support staff that comes with it! I have tried Intuit and ADP before finding Gusto. Gusto was a total game changer for me. The software is easy to use and really makes payroll a breeze for those of us who have businesses to run! You can upload a CSV file with that week's hours and any other payments and BOOM- payroll is done. I also like that they give me the exact amount I owe each week for that payroll- no monthly or quarterly surprises to budget for. And I have opted to roll in my workers comp payments as well. SO EASY. They also offer AMAZING onboarding options that mean every time I hire, I only enter a new employee's email address and they do the rest. I then verify that things look ok against their ID, e-sign the i9 and it's back to business for me. Everything looks modern, fresh and fun- and that makes my company look polished and put together! I literally do not know how we managed while using the other companies. We love Gusto!!!! Cons It might be a tiny bit more expensive than some of the other guys, but those dollars are completely worth the time saving and error avoiding features included in Gusto. There is no upfront cost, and it extremely easy to process payroll! This software can save any payroll department time, whether you have 3 employees or 300. Pros It's very easy to get started with Gusto. Just sign up, enter some details on your company and payroll schedule(s) and then add your employees. The employee onboarding process and great and can save a payroll department countless number of hours. Cons I work with churches and while Gusto has a ton of great features. There is some EOY manual work for W-2s for ministers that I wish was more automated. There is also not an advance time off process (multi-point approvals) built into Gusto. A fraction of the cost of competitors like Trinet, etc., and they don't constantly harrass you. Pros The user experience with Gusto makes me excited to do HR. The service is also so great. Very responsive. I've taken screenshots of their customer service interactions with me just so I can show my team how to do it right. Everything is super clean and easy to find. I can also help my team members take time off in an automated matter. It let's our company know the overall temperature of employees on the team so they can be proactive about solving any issues. Especially with new hire processing. Pros Payroll is sooo awful, no one likes it but with Gusto it at least does a really good job of making it easy for you. It can be a little confusing here and there, especially if you are dealing with something unpleasant but their customer support is always very friendly and answers all my questions. Cons With employees, you always have exceptions. It's difficult to work those through the Gusto platform since it's just a program. Direct deposit should be faster. Pros I like how easy it is to manage my PTO and ask for time off. I like the option it gives you to get an interest-free loan if you need one and it gets taken out of your next paycheck. Cons I understand it needs to be secure but I don't like having to get a text message code every time I login, even from my Gusto app. I have face recognition set but still have to wait on the text to login.
