I've been using for over ten years, I can't imagine switching to another payroll processor. It just works.

Pros

is very easy to use, it makes payroll and onboarding a breeze. They also keep up to date and offer new products regularly.

Cons

What is there not to like? I guess once in a great while there is a glitch, but they are always quick to fix any issues

### "Gusto is a Five Star Tool! "

I love and I give it a thumbs up! I would recommend it to anyone. Not only did I access my paystubs, but the W2s were easy to obtain too.

Pros

The paperwork was easy to sign it was a very and it was a fast process. I could access my paystubs online.

Cons

Nothing. There wasn't anything thing wasn't hard or complicated. The onboarding is great service to me.

does the job for a reasonable price, probably not best in class but works enough for us to not make a change yet to fix the inconveniences inherent with it

Ease of use for employees, consistent tax reporting (an issue with past providers), decent customer communication, timesheets are easy to use

Cons

Not excellent support for late payroll (limited to no options), classing labor is not a very effective tool for timesheets yet, other documentation is overly simple

### "Easy to Use"

I have had no issues with as a Manager. I would say the cost of the app is high even though we are a non-profit organization.

Pros

The wallet function, benefits area, the PTO request function, and ability to sign in with biometrics.

Cons

There is no scheduling function where staff can swap shifts with each other. Lack of gps tracking function when clocking in and bread crumbs.

### "Gusto Usage"

I thoroughly enjoy using . I am able to complete many company processes in a much timely manner than what it would take me to complete them on my own.

Pros

Value for money- streamlines many different aspects to a business. Most importantly, payroll, taxes, and onboarding of new employees. Gusto makes life easier!!

Cons

They are closed on the weekends when it comes to customer support. Sometimes I wish the built in reports were different, but no big deal as I have learned to tailor my own!

If you have multiple businesses, different locations but being paid from the same account or even different accounts. You can have as many work locations as you find helpful, keeps things organized and efficient.

Pros

is very technology friendly, easy to use and provides diligent on time feedback via emails if there is an issue with any of our payroll pushes. Gusto is a one stop shop for our employees who are enrolled in health benefits, its easy to navigate to your benefit details in the app for each employee and on the back end as the company, its a nice dashboard and easy to see what is being paid. Adding new users is simple, you just need a couple details from the new employee to get them sent an invitation via email or text (can do both). i appreciate this as it keeps the employees confidential tax info private and secure.

Cons

Dont have much to put here, we use it for our clothing boutique as well as our ice cream parlor, its easy to have multiple businesses all in one payroll account. I am very happy with . No cons thus far

saves me a lot of time by filing tax documents and helping with the payroll process. I would highly recommend it to someone who is looking to save money compared to some of the competitors such as ADP.

Pros

is easy to use and is the most affordable service I can use to do payroll for my company. I was able to run payroll for my company by myself without any issues and had all of the support I needed.

Cons

Some of the reports are difficult to generate and I have trouble pulling reports for individual people for different metrics sometimes. It's possible but not a very straightforward process.

### "Unreasonable Cancellation process"

We used this company for a long time but they are unethical about account cancellations so i cannot recommend.

Pros

Functional payroll company. They constantly increase their fees so it's no where near as good as it once was.

Cons

We cancelled our service without running any payroll in the month of April and they charged the full months fee anyway. has had constant price increases and you are stuck with paying for a full month regardless of when you cancel their service.

### "Unhappy with customer support - 401k Integration"

17 weeks of behind 401k contributions. Very hard to get answers from their team that works in this department.

Pros

Easy to setup and get going for the most part, its a good option for small businesses. Cost are pretty reasonable for the value you receive. But you get what you pay for I suppose.

Cons

Retirement contributions have not been going into the correct accounts! Could we get some support from about your existing products please!?! 😠 17 weeks of behind 401k contributions, and it's not 100% Gusto's fault but my experience is that it's been very hard to get answers from their team that works in this department. Emails not responded to. Happy to change my review because otherwise it's worked out well for us so far. Please contact us immediately.

I used when I was working for echo labs as an outreach marketer. I was paid on time, everytime.

Pros

I like the perks! Plus they take care of everything. Getting paid was never a problem, and it was fast and secure. The dashboard layout makes it easy to find your contracts.

Cons

Nothing really, I use it to get paid from different companies because I am a freelancer. Maybe they need to make it where you can import contracts from companies that don’t use the software.

### "Daily Gusto user - love it!"

I use both as an employee of a company to view my own pay and benefits, and also as a payroll administrator for contracted employees we pay for services rendered. On the employee side, I really like how easy it is to view my own pay/benefits details, including detailed breakdowns of my paychecks and deductions. I also like how easy it is to request PTO - I use the Gusto mobile app regularly. On the payroll side, I find Gusto incredibly easy to pay contractors. Usually payments are deposited the next business day, making it super easy for our contractors to receive their pay in a timely manner. However, each contractor does have a monthly limit on payments, but you can reach out to support to increase these limits.

Pros

I love how easy it is to not only schedule payments for contractors, but how easy it is to view my own information as an employee of my company as well.

Cons

Sometimes it's a little confusing to locate the details of past contractor payments and invoices. I also don't enjoy that each contractor has a limit on how many payments per month they can receive - we have had to combine several smaller payments into larger ones for some of our contractors, which has delayed payment in the past.

### "Never Gusto"

Their app apparently doesn't natively support CO wage withholding, there is no way of telling if they've paid it or not, and they wait until the last possible second on purpose to file. Their support gaslights you and waste your time for at least an hour before reaching out for help, then they discuss ways to try and explain to you they aren't going to do anything about it. But trust us, TRUUUUST US. We weren't going to pay it last quarter until you told us about it, theres no way you can tell in our own app if we did pay it for you, we aren't going to do anything about it, go call the state if you care about it so much. Actual conversation with support. Over the past 2 quarters I had to spent ~9 hours over 4 separate chat support sessions, far more time than would've taken me to do it myself. Should've left after Q1, now I definitely am, supposed to save me time and I have to manage them in addition to running my own company, unreal.

Pros

There was not one thing I liked about , let alone something I liked the most, nothing. They didn't even lie well.

Cons

They weren't even planning on paying 1 out of the 3 of my state tax obligations. I had to point out to them that they needed to pay something they weren't even aware of, when they are supposed to be the tax experts. Then proceeded to send me emails telling me to relax they got this, when they clearly don't.

We have no complaints. It’s a great payroll company and using the onboarding features where they upload their own information is great.

Pros

We enjoy the ease of use of this product. It the best payroll service we have used in years. Being able to process payroll online and integrate with our scheduling tool is a time saver

I can’t say there are many negatives. I would enjoy a better tracking PTO in the package we have. Like being able to choose the days they are off.

Cons

Subscription fee can be higher compared to other payroll solutions which might be a consideration for small businesses, some essential features are limited to the most expensive plan. It has limited customization and sometime we feel Bugs and issues.

### "Forget about it!"

As a professional bookkeeper, I assisted a client with payroll migration from ADP. I researched PR alternatives, identified as a strong possibility, made the initial contact, set up my client, did the migration, and acted as PR admin. After all this, Gusto refused a referral bonus…said I didn’t follow the link even after assurances from CS that I would receive the bonus.

Pros

The smiley face icons, the price. The sales consultation was straightforward leaving me confident that the migration process would be painless.

Cons

The migration process was frustrating. Sales consultant disappeared after we signed up. Our first payroll was held up because our bank did not participate in PLAID.

Reason for choosing Gusto

Honestly, I don’t recall. I think Paycheck was a serious contender, but had a live consultant.

Switched from

[ADP Workforce Now](https://www.capterra.com/p/155895/WorkforceNow/)

Small company…price was high and a modified payroll resulted in IRS letters and GL linking issues.
