CEO Consumer Services Used the software for: 1-2 years ### "Payroll Made Easy" June 29, 2021 5.0 Overall we highly recommend Gusto to everyone who is spending more than an hour or 2 per week processing payroll and the associated taxes. Pros The software has always been very easy to use, but during COVID, it was especially helpful. They quickly figured out how to manage all of the different credits etc. related to COVID and the law. We believe that we received the biggest value we could have directly related to using Gusto. We also appreciate the onboarding functionality and the birthday/anniversary reminders. Cons It is a little tricky to use if you have more than 1 pay plan. For instance, if you pay some people commission and others hourly. The surveys could be better, but it is nice to have an automated process even if it isn't ideal. We have had a couple of glitches with payroll taxes not being paid on time. Review Source MS Marie S. They also do a fantastic job clearly showing differences between health plans and in plain English. Their integration with other services, such as TurboTax, provides a fluid service to aid users in other products non-payroll related. Pros I enjoy that Gusto is a modern application that gives ease of access and navigation to all payroll and HR related. Cons I would like to have more stats or analytics about my work history or pay. Their homepage includes fun facts about hours worked or money gained, but I would like it to go beyond that and provide a nice visual dashboard of different metrics. Gusto does not. Wait times are too long for busy business owners and they give you the runaround. Pros Software is somewhat easy to use. It is glitchy at time and does not save work. It is not easy to use for independent contractors Cons Nothing about the software. What bothers me most is the customer service when you need help. They take weeks to respond, do not file your taxes on time, and they do not resolve issues at all. Reason for choosing Gusto The price. But now I see if you want to pay a cheap price, you get zero customer service. I’d rather pay the higher price and get full service rather than the runaround anyway. Review Source Becka D. There is also the capability to pay contractors, which is invaluable to me. Cons The only negative that I can think of is that a lot of the add-ons don't work unless you get your health insurance through Gusto. October 15, 2019 5.0 Overall, Gusto has been a great experience for me and the business. It makes payroll a million times easier to calculate. Pros Gusto is phenomenal for a small business, who can't afford to hire an accountant for payroll purposes. It allows me to track 401K, typical payroll, taxes, and vacation all in one interface. Cons I don't really have any negative ideas about Gusto. They offer a free trial, so you're not bound if you don't like it. Pros Very simple and intuitive interface. It took almost no time at all to familiarize myself with the interface after my small business switched platforms for HR (payroll, PTO requests). There is a file that saves all the paystubs and it has helped me see if there is an error along with storing my paystubs paperless. Cons Gusto can be bogged down at times, I’ve had slight issues with on boarding information getting lost but customer service has always been quick to respond and assist. I was quickly able to see all my payments provided by my employer, along with email notifications of when I should be receiving my funds. Not to mention I was easily able to obtain my proper tax forms (1099) quickly and efficiently. Although I am no longer a contractor, I am still able to see my account history and retrieve my tax forms if needed. Cons The only thing I wasn't a fan of as a recipient, I would only be able to see the number of hours I was paid, but it wasn't broken down into dates. I would only see the date that I was paid. It would be nice if it allowed my employer to include pay periods so I would know what dates these hours were being applied to. Review Source YP Yessenia P. People in the company not knowing how much they have, because they don't keep track themselves. No worries Gusto does it for you. I think just having an app where you can see what is going on with your pay, break down, and vacation time is amazing. It can even show you what you would make in overtime, double-overtime ect.. Pros I truly like Gusto for a number of reasons. One would be the easily accessible W-2 from my work, that they uploaded on Gusto and gave me immediate access to it. It made it easy to send it off to my accountant to file my taxes. Second would be the breakdown of my paycheck. I can see it every week in the app, and see what I made, what is getting taken out, even how much PTO I occluded that check. Third would be the PTO request. It is super simple, I pick my dates, put on the notes why I am requesting these days off. It then sends it to my Manager, and she can approve it remotely. " January 16, 2018 4.0 Like I said, I'm not sure what changed, but when we first started with Gusto (mid-2017), the response rate on emails were fantastic. Now, the only time I can get a response via email is if I submit a question and end up calling multiple days later. By the time my email is responded to, I typically have the answer from some other source or from a phone call. Good software with the potential to be great. Pros \--Very easy to use overall --The dashboard is nice, especially with the notifications --Love the intertwined tax forms --Ability to customize reports --Number of different reports you can run --For the most part, support is very knowledgeable Cons The only con I really have is that Gusto used to be so good about responding to email and questions submitted online in a timely manner. Now, I feel like to get anyone to respond, I have to call which isn't a bad thing, but most of the time the person on the other end can't help me directly.
