Cons For some reason, and maybe it was the employers choice, but I felt it was hard to every week put in hours... I no longer worry if we are running payroll correctly and meeting legal requirements, and it takes a fraction of the time. Pros Payroll activities and associated compliance requirements take time away from other important tasks, and Gusto allows me to focus on other activities while knowing that we are compliant. When manual inputs are needed by me, the Gusto UI and customer support makes it very quick and easy. Cons There have been times when I needed a quick answer from customer support and it took longer than expected, however this was during busy times coming up against payroll compliance deadlines. I have also run into confusion when making manual off-cycle payments and paying employees vs contractors, however these have been improved over time. Review Source SS Samuel S. Love that with Guideline they handle all the 401K at a minimal cost and that Gusto integrates with so many other companies. They do not handle my insurances but working on that Pros really great product for the price Likes that they intergrate with Guidline 401K, Deputy (scheduling) & quick books. " April 29, 2020 5.0 Gusto is great for any business, regardless of size. Ease of use is the biggest driver for me. Pros We use Gusto for all our internal and consulting payroll. Very easy to use and comes with a lot of nice bells and whistles. Great application! Cons I do not have many cons for the application. It is very good about updating when pay periods are taking place and provides easy downloadable payment statements. Highly recommended! Gusto sends awesome little paycheck snapshots to my email on the day I get paid and informs me of my pay and taxes. It's user friendly and the layout is easy to understand. Cons There really isn't anything I don't like about Gusto. From a user perspective, it has everything I need to know or want to know about my pay/taxes. It's easy for employees to make changes to their payroll deductions on where the money is being deposited--I change my allocation between checking/savings on the regular and it's so nice not to have to email back and forth with an HR person to make changes. I spend more time talking to their support than I've ever spent dealing with payroll in my life. Stick with a local payroll processor, more expensive but way less headaches. Pros Inputting is easy. website layout is intuitive. Cons Absolute nightmare getting employees paid on time. Constantly getting notified that my employees aren't getting paid on friday although i run payroll 4 days in advance. Employees are getting emails saying they aren't getting paid this week. Now i have to field calls from them. They withdraw the funds from my bank account on weds but claim not to have the money until the following tueday so then i can't run payroll again until then and in the meantime everyone's getting emails saying they aren't getting paid. However, for some customers who meet a variety of criteria, we have expedited 2-day processing. It looks like you were able to connect with a representative about why your payroll processed on 4 business days, and they were able to troubleshoot a solution so you were able to pay your employees on time. Make sure everyone gets paid and reminds me of the things I need to take care of what the government. Pros Has a one-man show I just wanted to make sure that I was able to pay myself and that all the proper taxes would go to that respected institutions. I just wanted to make sure all my bases are covered. Cons It takes a few days from the time I run payroll to the time I get paid. That's the only thing I don't like. The account set up leads you by the hand and through a process that in the past seem to be reserved for financial gurus and HR super humans. As a creative business owner I had a great understand of what everything was. Amazing features like establishing the Owner's draw from a salary - keeps the balance of personal and business profit very clear. Cons My business is a combination of employees and contractors, unfortunately compensating contractors is not really a feature on Gusto. Pros Gusto is the best payroll software by far!!! It is so simple to use, it's ridiculous. Very easy to type in hours and they software does all of the calculations itself. There are items that you can customize if needed. The support is also great and above expected! Cons Nothing. There are no negatives at all. Such a simple software to learn to use. They will call you every week to see "how things are going" which gets annoying. overall its a great service and ill consider it in the future with the hope that they improved the IC options. Pros I really liked how easy the program is to set up. Its a weight off of my shoulders to not have to run tedious pay roll every other week. The program allows you different options on when, how often and different methods of payments. I really enjoyed that it automatically generates taxes at the end of the year. I think its affordable for small business who dont want to shell out heavy amounts of cash for a CPA. The interface is easy to navigate which is a huge plus. Cons I didnt like that the options for independent contractors was so limited and confusing. Over all I did not sign up as I need more flexibility with IC payments. Covid hit soon after which hit my business hard so theres no use of it now however, if we grow again i will consider signing back up. Review Source Derek E. They can see how quickly they will get paid. A reminder for them. Never had any issues (except when there would be maintenance). Pros Very quick and easy to use for your payroll. It has great reminders for when to run payroll and deadlines for how long you have until you missed your date. Good interface. Cons There really is nothing I dislike about it. Reason for choosing Gusto Cheaper for us to use. Better navigation throughout the aite and easier to use. Better reminders and good for employees. User friendly.
