Pros I loved that Gusto was easy to set up, no hr knowledge was needed. Cons Support was a little hard to get answers from. There are so many special State cases, that it's hard to get accurate info. Your base is too high. Pros It is easy software to use. It is on top of things and is very colorful in communication. The employees say it is easy to use but I would not know since I am the only person. I have spoken to others with the same service, they like it. Cons It is not really cost effective for a father and 2 sons to pay so much for a payroll service. I thought going electronic would decrease the cost but it did not. Pros I used Gusto at my past workplace, and was really impressed with the seamless functionalities and features. It was a very efficient software that helped payroll automation. We worked on a small team, and this software offered our team extra time to get client work completed on not focus too much on expenses and payroll. Cons The only complaint our team had was the cost to use. Although it was more beneficial for our team to focus less on this, it did cut quite deeply into our expenses each month. I just remember it to be very easy and great to use. It was so easy to navigate and very user-friendly. Also, we could create a separate file for people hired on contracts, which was a time saver. Cons I have nothing negative to say about Gusto, it was simply the best. It allows you to manage various types of employees in various locations with easy. I could easily manage salaried and hourly employees and it allows hourly employees to enter their own hours. It also allowed employees to set-up their profiles, which saved time on my part in the back-end. Instead of copying a lot of personal information and making constant W-4 updates, the software allows employees to set themselves up with information they know well and make changes that streamline during the payroll process. Cons Sometimes it felt like certain tasks were taking more clicks than necessary to complete. For instance, if I need to change the pay rate for several employees I would go into each one individually, but then once I saved and was ready to update the next profile I would have to go back to the employee screen and then expand the scroll-able list again. It would be nice to easily go back to where I was when making large updates. Also keeping track of how much vacation you've used and still have left in your bucket. It is very user friendly and not a hard system to learn. Cons Sometimes it can be kind of confusing on how to add new contractors in. I also wish we could upload our own branded invoices. Pros As long as you know what you are doing with payroll, this is a great solution to manage payroll internally without paying a company to do it for you. Cons If you don't understand payroll (how it works and filing requirements), pay for the upgraded version with their hands on support. It's so easy to get into trouble with payroll taxes if you don't know what you are doing. Just simple and it works. Pros In my new role we use Gusto for payouts. I love the platform because it’s easy to navigate and does a great job of explaining more technical nuances to getting paid. Cons There isn’t really anything to dislike. They do what they do and do it well. If I had to say anything it would be the animations in the app, and how prevalent they make the option to get an advanced paycheck. That should be a last resort. Pros We use it for health benefits, payroll processing, retirement benefits for our employees. My favorite part of the software is the access to HR professional for the tricky employee situations. Cons I haven't really found anything to dislike about the software. There have been a few syncing errors but other than that, super satisfied. Pros Super easy to use for administrators and employees. Super easy to transfer existing payroll date from a previous provider. Customer support is fast, nice, and very helpful. The website is user friendly. Cons Would like to see a mobile app for employees and administrators. Definitely recommend. Pros Pros, Gusto is a great software for small business owners. I'm still in the process of hiring more people, but gusto gets you into the easiest way to be able to handle the HR part of your business. If you're currently struggling to take care of other things in your business let Gusto help with keeping your employees happy. Cons There is not much I can say about the things I do not like about Gusto, I've only been using it for a couple of weeks and so far it's not a difficult platform to use. If you have any issues, they're ontop of getting you help. It worked for that. Pros It has an easy to use interface, simple to navigate. Gets the job done. For a small to medium size company it's a no frills option for easy tracking, and integrates with other platforms we use. Cons If you are not an administrator, you can't see the PTO balances of the employees that report to you, so you can end up approving PTO that they don't have if the company has somewhat of a negative balance option.
