I have had to make some quick last-minute adjustments, and a combination of the services and the support team have been very helpful. Currently very happy with this service. Payroll Specialist Education Management Used the software for: Less than 6 months ### "Very helpful with payroll " September 22, 2020 5.0 It was pretty smooth, once you put in the employee’s basic contact info (email, home address and type of worker) it send an email notification for the employee to complete the rest of their profile. Pros I liked that it pretty did the payroll work for you, all you had to do was enter was type of worker the employee was (contractor/1099,, full time etc$ and some simple information and it calculates the rest. It automatically sent out the W2 info out to each employee. Cons Although it did automatically send out each employee’s W2’s, it was only made available to be viewed online. I've never had any issues with direct deposit and the features are easily accessible through the app. Pros The paycheck splitter, notifications and ease of access to tax forms make this software very user friendly and approachable. I have had multiple contract employees use this software effortlessly and they are able to receive important reminders about their payroll without help from me. Cons I have former employees that have found it difficult to retrieve their tax information after leaving our non-profit. I've had multiple former employees contact me personally to help retrieve it for them with the help of our accountant. I wish there were a period of time outside of employment that former employees could still access tax forms without the help of current employees. Review Source Fletcher R. I get frequent reminders about the things to do, time to run payroll and about missing documents. Concierge service helps a lot! Being new to all the HR stuff Gusto Concierge is always there to answer your dumbest questions! :) Cons I would say price because when you add all these insurance premiums connected to gusto. Onboarding was seamless, customer support was very helpful, and it has cut down the time to manage payroll. Cons At this time, I cannot think of anything that needs updated. I get an email notifying me I have been paid and I can view all past history. Setup was very easy. Cons I really don't have any cons from my side. This is where Gusto really shines, especially compared to more traditional payroll provider competition. Also appreciate broad and growing array of features. Super easy to use, and makes a dull task like payroll seem much less mundane. I also love that Gusto sends employees an email on payday - a small touch with a big impact! Gusto is a great solution for small-mid sized businesses. Cons There are a few limitations when it comes to complexity, but if your group has fairly straightforward payroll, it's a great solution! Why should I have to pay for customer services that should be automatic. Pros There aren't any features that I particularly like, it's payroll software no different from any other payroll provider. Cons Their customer service, they take forever to resolve tax issues even though they are almost always time sensitive and usually are their fault.Also their benefit management is fair at best and when screw up they really screw up and leave the fix to the client after being slow to respond besides. Still some bugs, especially in setting up an account. Pros I started copywriting for a fashion company that uses Gusto as it's payment platform. I like how its fully automated and let me put in all my information without having to send sensitive info over email. The automated tax info and payment reviews made it easy for me. Cons Even though there is an area to plug in my personal info, the HR teams still asked for more info which I would have preferred to send just through Gusto, perhaps they need to expand their profile creation options. I highly recommend it for small and medium size companies. Pros Gusto has made huge difference for management of our payroll and tracking employee related documents and PTO. Additionally, the employees enjoy being able to log in and view for themselves any relevant payroll information and available PTO, without having to ask a manager. Cons The "con" for results from purchasing the level 1 version, which limit's our ability to customize different PTO for different employees. We have to go with a one size fit's all approach.
