It's intentionally simple and saves me time because of that. Pros The UI is very intuitive and easy to navigate. I am an end user and our company uses Gusto for payroll and benefits. I can find what I'm looking for in seconds. I will check my pay stubs, my remaining vacation time, and see other benefits detail on occasion and it's just plain simple to use. Cons I can't really think of any cons. It does what it's supposed to do. Perhaps they could add additional features but for what it does now, it's excellent. Review Source JJ Judy J. Cons Cannot really think of anything i do not like. This is so easy to use and the price is very competitive. Love it Cons I don't know why exactly and the customer support didn't know neither, but sometimes it gets very slow when I have to create a new profile. The online interface for reviewing pay stubs and deposits is very clear and easy to follow. So much better than tracking down paper stubs for tax time! Pros Direct deposit feature with almost all banks. Tax convenience at the end of the year. Ability to view pay stubs online. Basically paperless unless you need to print something out. Cons As with all banking products holidays and weekends can delay payments. This can make bank accounts hard to balance on both sides. Pros Easy to use, lots of add on features to make your life easier. Easy to view reports. Easy for both employer and employees Cons This service is not perfect. I was fined by my local government for not updating a tax on time. The file was sent over to Gusto, once I saw I was filed. This was for a quartely report, so I did not find out about the fines until after the wrong reports were submitted. Gusto then told me it is my responsiblity to make sure the rates are correct even after I sent over the files. I was fined twice because they could not get this straight for me. President Accounting Used the software for: 1-2 years ### "I had high hopes for Gusto" July 25, 2019 3.0 OK, but no human interaction. Remember "High tech, high touch"? Gusto is "You gotta problem? We don't wanna hear it." No gusto for customer service, which, in the end, is what you want in a payroll company. It's a service. Pros I wanted a simple payroll system that dealt with government issues so I would not have to. We have employees in NJ and GA. Also, Gusto is inexpensive, but there are other packages that are free. Cons My love for Gusto went out the window when I started getting bills from New Jersey for unanticipated fees. I thought my payroll company would handle these kinds of things. Worse, though, is that Gusto is one of those Internet companies that hides behind its servers -- no phones, no fast response, no resolution. When you have a payroll problem, you want to talk to someone to fix it -- not send endless emails and get zero response. I won't support companies like Gusto any more. I'm canceling the service at the end of this year. It is easy to use and affordable. I use it for 3 different companies right now. Pros It is affordable and easy to use. I have used other payroll services companies like ADP and Paylocity and they were not easy to navigate like Gusto. Not to mention they cost way more than Gusto. Cons The only issue I have had was with customer service. I use Gusto for 3 different companies and two customer service rep. kept getting my report request incorrect. I told them multiple times which companies it was for but they kept pulling the report for the wrong company. They also mentioned that they would have the report deliver to my email on the 1st of the month. That did not happen and I had to contact them again. Review Source Dilith V. It will do great job for you Pros Gusto provides all the features that required for modern payroll system. It's easy to use and has lots of functionalities. It has reasonable prices as well. Pros I like Gusto's simple platform, easy to process payroll and never have to worry about filing tax forms and paying withholding taxes. If there is any penalty notice from IRS or state, I only need to scan the notice and send it to Gusto Helpdesk and they will take care of. Hassle free! The cost is reasonable. Cons Gusto has certain limitation in departmentalize employee when an employee's time is split between 2 or more departments, they won't be able to split the payroll costs between multiple departments. I can't remember what I did before working with a company that utilized Gusto! Pros Love the ease of use keeping track of all my benefits - from pay to vacation to 401k to insurance. It's awesome to have everything in one place to check and they make the set up so user-friendly! Cons The only thing is that the vacation tracking didn't quite line up with a previous employer's policy, so that could look a little funky sometimes with hours in the negative. But overall, amazing software and service. They take all the guesswork out of taxes, quarterly IRS filings, state unemployment requirements and paperwork. I mean just set it up once and get back to work, they'll take care of the rest. Their prices are great and so is their product. Pros Gusto is very easy to use, keeps paper out of the way and allows my employees and myself to access information whenever we need to. Cons Hold times for customer service can be long, especially around tax time. Would recommend to anyone with a company our size (6 employees) to get everyone paid. Pros My company recently switched to Gusto. When I was sent the link to sign up I couldn't believe how easy it was to put in my information and get started. At the end of the week I got paid just as normal and there were no kinks. I also love the email it sends giving us our pay breakdowns and it was super easy to download my tax documents at the end of the year. Cons As of now I have no problems with Gusto. We have been using it for about a year as a company and have had no issues. It integrates with our time card system for part time employees and makes payroll super simple. They make it really easy to stay compliant with different state tax requirements, deductions, etc. Cons It doesn’t have the ability to run background checks on new hires. Cons The only thing I can think of was the slightly limited customer service via phone at the time. This may have changed since I was using it. Pros Everything is fully explained in the emails and has liked to get further info if you need it. The breakdown is very understandable . I love that you can choose to have the amount paid to you hidden in the emails, that’s a very nice feature! Also, you get paid within a few hours of getting the email in most cases! Cons I am a pretty big fan of it so not really any issues! The email with the link goes right where you need it to, and that’s all I really need. Switched from [QuickBooks Payroll](https://www.capterra.com/p/174981/QuickBooks/) That’s what my old job used , and it was good. Gusto is a way better!
