This is OK given their shift in focus to larger companies but too bad for startups. December 14, 2019 5.0 This has helped me quickly and easily oversee and manage things that I didn't even know I wanted (401(k)'s, for example). Pros It's intuitive and easy to use, so employees can access their paycheck stubs and documents whenever they need to. Also, it made setting up and maintaining 401(k) options easy. As a pretty small business, this wasn't something I considered worth pursuing before, but Gusto made it a breeze to implement. Cons I don't really have anything negative to say about it. It would be nice if the deposit name were customizable, so we could customize how it appeared on employee's bank accounts, but that's really just wishful thinking, and not really a complaint. If price isn't a driving factor, I would highly recommend Gusto for complicated payroll situations, especially if you're using contract labor. Pros We have a small side business but a large number of temporary and part-time employees. Gusto helped us streamline our payroll services. As we expand, we may begin using benefit services as well. Cons Gusto is a little pricier than some competitors. In the end we decided to shop around a bit more before committing to a longer term contract. It sends you alerts when a new employee joins the company. It sends you a card to sign as a welcome for the new employee. It celebrates when you get paid and allows you to donate to your favorite charity relatively easy. I like that a lot, it's one less thing i have to keep track of. Cons I haven't experienced any issues yet. The only thing that i noticed was that we couldn't import our previous paycheck stubs to our Gusto portal. If I ever get a bigger or smaller paycheck than expected, I can easily view my pay stub to get a better understanding of why. Pros The system is very easy to navigate through. You can login and see your all of your pay stubs and W2 information, as well as your accrued paid time off. On each pay stub, there is a clear break down of what is your normal pay, or PTO that was used, reimbursements, and bonus commission. This makes it easy for me to glance each time we get paid to double check everything and the amount on my paycheck. Whenever I have specific questions I have experience outstanding customer service. Cons I can't come up with any con's right now. Cons From the user side, would only have liked to have some of the features integrated into calendars, ie. pay days, anniversaries, company days off etc. so it wasn't needed to be done manually. June 12, 2018 5.0 Pros I like how easy the interface is to navigate. The interface itself is very intuitive and It's very easy to request time off, whether it's sick time or PTO. I also like how it shows the rate at which your PTO is accrued, along with showing the user how many hours you have remaining for the year. Cons My least favorite aspect of Gusto is that there is no smart phone application. It's not difficult at all going to gusto.com on my phone, it actually works great. Cons I still don’t really feel like I understand all that my company really needs to do to stay compliant. I am confident that Gusto does what’s needed but there have been times I called customer support and felt frustrated because there seemed to be liability issues that made them say “you need to ask an accountant or tax attorney about that”. I think it’s reasonable of them to say that, but it was frustrating. Pros I like how clear the emails are with specific important info for you to just view quickly, I also like how they easily have tax documents available to print out right from the website. Every time I get paid I get the direct deposit and then also an email sent to me that makes it so easy for me to view my pay stub each week.
