I switched to Gusto during COVID and haven't looked back. They take care of all the tax filings throughout the year for all types of employees and I just started taking advantage of the employee benefits features this past year. It's a bit of "pay to play" for some features (such as next-day payroll) but for all the benefits, it's worth it. It was accurate, informative and simple to use. No extra nonsense and no frills. Pros What did I like most about the Gusto app?me it was the ease and simplicity of the whole thing. They made it fast, easy, and secure to track my hours. Cons To be honest, I don’t have any complaints or problems about the Gusto application. It did what I needed it to do and that’s all I can ask for. " January 5, 2025 5.0 Great app. Super user friendly, most jobs should use it this is the future of time management apps and even HR level things needed for employees. You can add or decline insurance it’s all such a breeze and delight to use. Pros Easily most user friendly app. I’m able to do everything on my phone. Submit sick time & PTO. I also am a lead over 2 reps and can improve their payroll as well. You can fix timesheets and deletes shifts with ease and only have to leave a note in most cases. As an employee, they make it so easy to access my documents as well as make any changes/updates instantaneously. Pros I LOVE the user interface for Gusto, they make HR so easy for the employee. I have enjoyed the ability to clock-in/out as well as see all of my HR benefits documents in one central location. Cons Nothing, even their debit card aspects are not pushed onto the user, it is simply there as an added bonus/ease of use. March 7, 2025 5.0 I think Gusto is a great platform for employees and businesses to use. I have really no complaints, and use the software mostly to view my paystubs and request paid time off. Pros I thought Gusto as a platform made the onboarding process at my new job very efficient. I also like how I can access everything I need (PTO, payslips, Tax info, paperwork, etc) in one place. Cons During onboarding at times when uploading documents the software can become overwhelmed, but it still was a lot more efficient than trying to e-mail each document to human resources. It does what it is supposed to and integrates to FreshBooks. Pros Gusto has been a great platform for payroll. They manage submitting all tax payments. They have great reminders for your tasks by email and on the dashboard. Cons I really have nothing bad to say about it. The prices seem high but they are similar to other platforms. With this I can set up payroll without stress. The employees too can access their portal and update some information without any stress. My highlight is the automatic direct payments, compliance and even tax filing. Gusto is just a time saver. Pros What I love the most is the fact that it helps you to handle direct deposits and is very easy to use. You do not need to be so tech-savvy to use it. The process is unnecessarily frustrating, with no clear explanations for denials, leaving us in a constant loop of resubmitting claims and waiting for approval that never seems to come. Gusto’s FSA platform feels more like an obstacle than a helpful service, and it has caused headaches for our team. While the payroll and other HR features are decent, the FSA platform is a dealbreaker. If you’re considering Gusto and FSA management is important to you, I’d strongly recommend looking elsewhere. Pros Gusto provides everything you need for payroll, hr, and employee benefits management. I really appreciate how quick their support team is to help us with any needs that arise. Cons When setting up health benefits, you'll need to download pdf of the health plans to see all the fine print details from the providers (ie Blue Cross, UHC). Gusto checks all the boxes. My team likes it too. Pros Gusto is the best interface that I have used. Simple, easy to navigate, I like the payday email reminders and they have fun graphics which is just a bonus. Cons They have an app, I never used it, in fact I cannot recall them advertising that it exists. That might be my own negligence.
