They have fun personalized emails and overall it's easy to use. Pros Gusto has a clean UI which makes it easy to use. We use it for payroll and benefits and its simple and effective. The customer service is also great as they are "human" because they actually listen and answer questions. Cons The benefits enrolment is confusing. It errors out often but doesn't tell you the reason why which makes it difficult to troubleshoot. A better experience there would be nice. Review Source CE Courtney E. They make my life better. All of their employees are friendly and helpful - you never get the "read the script" response from them. Pros I like everything about this company and software. They answer all of my questions and offer REAL customer service. They never tell you they don't know or it isn't their department. They cover some real business issues that are really confusing and make my life 1000% easier by handling taxes and payroll. They always follow up and make sure we have everything. I am shocked how amazing they are every single time. Cons There are no cons in my opinion. Gusto is the best. Reason for choosing Gusto Gusto is the best. She handles all the heavy lifting with the bookkeeping, but anything I do with new hires, payroll, etc.. is a breeze. Pros Gusto is really great at walking you through all the steps you need to take when you need to take them. Cons I don't have any complaints with the software itself - it's really solid based on what our needs are. The only thing I'm not completely sold on is the benefits partnerships they advertise, for example, 401(k) for your company. Review Source DH Destiney H. It takes so much work to manage hours and handle payroll but now I only spend about 10 minutes a month! Pros The onboarding and setup is easy to navigate and figure out. Gusto really guides you through what needs to be done and everything is explained along the way. You have to be extremely careful about the information you're putting in because they can't possibly check everyone's Tax ID number or State ID number, so make sure you do everything right when you set up. The payroll is actually fun to do and takes less than 5 minutes. When I have questions email and chat support is quick and helpful. Review Source bM bushra M. Pros It really helps me stay organized, because it's a one-stop-shop. I don't have to log into multiple places to see my hours, pay, and benefits. I really like that it's personalized. For example, when I started at my company, I received "welcome" messages from my colleagues through the software. Users aren't just a number on a spreadsheet somewhere. Gusto takes a business function and makes it a friendly, social experience. Cons Putting in my hours was a little confusing in the beginning, because our organization runs differently than others. Onboarding was so straightforward that even a non-HR person like me could do it. It's so easy to run payroll each week and the features of the app are great. It's especially great at onboarding new employees and giving cool options like charitable donations and donation matching for employers. User management is super easy and it houses all of the documents on the platform. Cons The only thing I don't like about Gusto is that payroll that is more than $20K has to be run 4 days before payroll is due (I think ADP you can even do same day). I'm not sure if this is the same on every tier of the platform (I think we are on the lowest). Review Source Tariro G. ADP, in comparison, is more robust and "professional", but pricier. QBO payroll is overpriced and offers much less features. Gusto has the price and functionality done just right! Pros The user experience is smooth, stylish, and streamlined. Very little useless gimmicks and dead ends. The support is also fantastic. ADP had an over-complex interface and a very costly fee structure. We trialed Wave Payroll which was an improvement but still not as streamlined as we were looking for and the payroll functions were a bit clunky. ZenPayroll has literally been a godsend. It probably takes less than 3 minutes to run a payroll, the team likes the quirky payday emails they get and the cost structure is scalable for a business of ANY size. Pros Simple interface with easy functionality Cons Missing total payroll cost before processing. When employees need access to previous paycheck stubs they are at their disposal through this app making it easier for them to have access to their information. Pros I like the format and being able to navigate through the app is very easy. I also like that you can see all your paycheck stubs from previous years along with your W-4 Cons I find that sometimes when I am trying to open up applications I get notified that it's not working at the time and I can't open up the app. Review Source Daniel F. Pros As a first time user of the Gusto software. I found it easy to use, and it made my Onboarding experience fast and simple. The software was easy to navigate through, and easy to understand. Cons I did not find much wrong with the software on initial use. I am pretty sure that the more I use it, I might have more criticism about it. But for now there is not much I can criticize about. May 7, 2018 5.0 Pros Really simple and straightforward to use (at least as simple as payroll can be). Very nice clean user interface as well and really gets the job done. I've used other payroll processors in the past and I started using Gusto early on and it's only gotten better. The price is also quite attractive. Even offers support for syncing with QuickBooks Online. Can't think of much I would add. It was super easy to setup, very supportive help desk and you can actually chat with support while you are in the tool, allowing them to help you in real time. I moved to GUSTO from Zenefits and will say I am very happy I did! Highly recommended. Pros Very Simple to use Superb customer support (Online Chat with support while working) Great flexibility integrating with QuickBooks and time keeping Easy to add payroll deductions for all your benefits and/or other payroll deductions Cons Gusto has no integrated Background Check capability Gusto could use more HR features, although they do have a capbility to do self unboarding.
