Pros I like that it easy to set up payroll for multiple employees with multiple different pay schedules. Cons I don'y like that you have to submit the payroll 5 days in advance of pay date. Great software to use for smaller organizations. Pros The features are very simple and easy to use. You can add or terminate staff members easily with the click of a button. You can easily add any deductions or make any corrections to payroll. Helps you prevent making big mistakes which is crucial. Cons Customer service can be a better. Although friendly and helpful, there hasn't been one time where I have called for help and an operator/service representative picked up. Due to the long waits (most I've waited was for about an hour), I usually have to leave a voicemail for them to reach back to me (usually in hours or days). Review Source DD Daniel D. Everything is streamlined for minimal time being spent on payroll. Well laid out platform. You are well guided throughout every step in what's needed to be done for your staff and companies payroll needs. They will remind you and advise you when options pop up and let you make the final decision. The best is when you start using Gusto for the first time, you are guided through every step of the procedure. There is a checklist that you can see your progress and completed tasks and whatever else is still outstanding. The friendly, fun comments all over the platform are entertaining and add a nice light-hearted side to the sometimes daunting and dreary task of payroll. All payroll history, pay stubs and tax fillings are easily accessible to view/print online and by each employee too for their individual records. Cons Payroll has to be submitted by 4pm if it is to be processed in 2 business days or else it will be postponed to the third day. 4pm is before the close of business at the end of the payroll cycle. If this could be midnight on the close of the payroll cycle, my staff would not have to wait an extra day for their paycheck. Review Source JJ Jeanette J. Ex. We don't have to worry that the correct amount is being paid to our employee or the IRS and State. Cons None, we have not had any issues in using Gusto. Cons The one thing that would make Gusto much more powerful, especially for a remote-first US-based company, is the ability to run payroll in all states. Very nice display and organization of the site. Pros It has a very nice display and is easy to use. Sometimes have trouble finding exactly what I want, but always get there eventually. Cons I find that it doesn't do much for me besides display benefits info. When I had to make selections I didn't find it to be that great. Cons My former employer used Gusto so I don't know of any possible downsides on the employer end, but as an employee,I did not come across anything yet that I did't like about Gusto. Employees are really just looking forward to their "Gusto email" because it means they are getting paid, but the way it's delivered was very easy to use. Cons I don't really have any negative feedback about this software. Sometimes its so easy to focus on the negative sides of the product, but with Gusto all I really needed was something to manage my small team's salaries and Gusto got the job done. Pros I can take a look at my vacation schedule, paystubs, benefits, tax information, employee handbook, and even put in requests for time off easily in Gusto. It's so easy, it doesn't get in my way Cons Sometime when I open it in Chrome, it will crash the browser tab. I have to open it in Edge to work properly. Highly recommend this software! Pros Our Bank uses Gusto to do payroll and it’s always easy to use. Fast and quick way of getting paid. November 9, 2020 5.0 Pros Gusto has an amazing feature which lets the user get an advance payment of their paycheck. The amount borrowed is automatically taken from the next check. This feature is great when you find yourself in a bind or need to pay an emergency bill before payday. I also really enjoy how employees can see all paid time off that's available and it all can be requested and approved/denied all in one spot. Employees / contractors and the \[SENSITIVE CONTENT HIDDEN\] were all happy and we saved a ton of money using the software. Pros User interface was clean and intuitive. Set up was straightforward and customer support was helpful from the beginning (I was referred by another user). Setting up direct deposit was easy. Everything is simplified and explained clearly, so you don’t have to be a payroll expert or accountant to use it. Cons Had some challenges due to the new requirements for classifying people as contractors or employees, but with suggestions from an accountant I was able to proceed normally for the start of 2020. Cons I have been recently disappointed that they continue to neglect to file 941 taxes on time. I just got 2 notices from the IRS even though I can see on my profile that the document has been completed. It's very frustrating. Customer Service takes too long to respond.
