It made the setup process easy and efficient allowing us to utilize valuable time elsewhere. Cons Had an issue with Bigcommerce billing practices. The representative would not refund after repeatedly requesting cancellation. Unfortunately, I ultimately had to file a credit card charge back. BigCommerce has made managing our online store so much easier and it has allowed us to provide a better customer experience. Pros I love the way the interface is set up. It is very easy to manage and everywhere you need to access is easy to find - You can also customize different status' so we can identify every situation quickly. We are just starting to use the Blog feature and we are very excited about how easy this is to manage. Cons The blog themes are kind of generic. We had to have our blog template designed so it would stand out and match the overall look we are going for. After migrating from another ecommerce platform, we were stunned by the level of control we have over our site. Our previous provider did not allow its users to access the robots.txt file and wouldn't allow us fix our amp pages but BigCommerce gives you full control of those features. They constantly steer me toward expensive apps that do not integrate seamlessly. Every app I’ve installed has caused a problem with another app or the native functionality of the platform. Simple desires have been turned into nightmares and BigCommerce has offered no support. They also refuse to assign us an account manager even though we’re an enterprise customer. I beg you, DO NOT sign up for one of their plans. You will regret it. Pros BigCommerce has a minimal learning curve. I breezed though the backend even on my first day using it. Cons BigCommerce charges WAY too much when all they really offer is the ability to integrate with other apps which also charge way too much. Their platform is a rabbit hole. Reason for choosing BigCommerce We didn’t originally want something off-the-shelf but we went with BigCommerce because tax solutions such as TaxJar and Avalara already integrated with their platform. Using this software I was made aware of other types of software as a service products that were useful for my other clients. Pros It took me a while to get used to the new management dashboard when BigCommerce upgraded to the new platform, but I am getting to know my way around. I like the integration to manage various channels through the dashboard. The reports are very informational to keep up on sales. Cons The coupon or discount codes are sometimes hard to configure based on the type of offer you would like to do. It would be nice to be able to set a time of day for an offer to expire. My client's customer had a customer ID. It would be nice if you could add a customer ID to match your offline accounting and shipping software . But, the key is some of the plug-ins like Shogun. Pros Once I got the hang of using plug-in software like ShoGun for landing page development, BigCommerce became pretty easy to use. Cons The software is not as customizable as I would like. I wanted to add size selection to a base item. But, instead, I had to list multiple size variations of the same product color. It has plenty of features, customer support has always been very helpful and it is a reliable platform with very few server issues or downtimes. Cons There is a little bit of a learning curve that never ends, but I am ok with it. The more you want to implement, the more you need to learn. Would I make the change now that i know what I know about how big commerce just cares about apps and not making the features native I would have not picked them. Pros It is stable. User interface is good. Best Tech support I have ever had from a shopping cart. Cons Big Commerce is missing may native features that other shopping carts have already built in. The number one feature is instock notify you have to pay for and since they have apps for it they will never make it native. There store search is one of the worst but f you pay for a app you can get a better search. Also problem when you do find a app there is a big chance that support for the app is a hit or miss.
