Pros This shopping cart just works. It manages inventory on a simple level, but we integrated it with FIshbowl Inventory, and the API connection has been rock solid with it capturing all the inventory changes, and capturing all of the sales and inventory financial data in Quickbooks. Good optional and kit product functionality as well. Cons It's a little more expensive than other offerings, but if it never fails then it saves us money in the time we don't have to spend fixing things. Review Source AM Anant M. Pros To set up online stores that aren't hosted by us, we had a few options to choose from. Bigcommerce turned out to be a perfect solution: - Scalable as much as you need. - Its a hosted solution, so no worries about server maintenance and technical costs. - Most plans offer multiple payment options with no transaction fees whatsoever. - Has a lot of free templates to choose from. - CMS and SEO features fully integrated with it. - Discounts and other marketing features. - Unlimited digital or physical products. - Drag and Drop builder. Cons \- New themes are pretty expensive to buy. - The cheapest plan has transaction fees. - Not the most user friendly design capabilities. - Terminology is little difficult for beginners and there is a learning curve. It has been nothing but great experience with bigcommerce. I always find myself using them over and over again for my clients since they are easy to use for customers on the dashboard side and simple design. There would be no other platform I would use for e-commerce! Cons I don't like the themes which sometimes can be frustrating. Even if pay for the designs the designers take forever to respond which can be a deal breaker. I usually will fix the problem myself but for those who don't code it will be very frustrating! The shopping channel sometimes has issues connecting with Facebook. Pros I like how much I can control with my SEO for product and category pages with this CMS compared to most of the competition. Cons I don't like how there are still basic SEO functions that are difficult to navigate with BigCommerce. However, compared to almost all of the competition, BigCommerce is one of the best. It is a great place to get started, I feel like they did the simple things very well, and would be great as your ecommerce company is getting up and running. Cons I needed more guts than what they offer. There are other platforms that offered features and functionality that we needed as we are growing. Pros Keeps track of sales just fine, easy to make coupon codes, and create orders/cancel orders Cons If you're running your entire website through BigCommerce it's not great. Their team is responsive, the apps are numerous, and Big Commerce is constantly pushing updates. My only complaint is that our product catalog is extensive and features many complex products. Also when I purchased it I was told that the tech team would understand that I needed assistance hooking up my affiliate panel to the system. The ability to monitor sales and inventory is so very useful on a day to day basis that I wouldn't use anything else. And any changes made to our listings is an immediate change. What a great way to manage our site!! Cons Honestly, I haven't found anything that I dislike about it. There are always ways to improve but for what we're using it for, I love it.
