Pros: The ability of the office staff to be able to quote repairs and assists techs in the field is awesome. It used to be we would have to wait for the technicians help to price out water heaters, etc - but now we can handle that right over the phone. Pricing seems in line with the products we purchase and it is great to not have to send out invoices.

Cons: Honestly the new search engine seems like a back track completely. Our techs miss the narrow down by field function. Not automatically seeing the code numbers when searching is a downgrade. The new search seams to glitch frequently and has lead to a lot of frustrated technicians. Honestly i have received feedback from every tech that the new search is terrible and they "hate it." That is our biggest downfall with the program right now. Also, it would be amazing to be able to add a discount in any amount right from the ticket. There are many times that prefab discounts don't apply. And it would be AMAZING to be able to reorder items after you put them on the ticket.

It is good but it certainly can use upgrades. I was promised and didn't get it!

Pros: The fact that it can be remotely approved by customers is my favorite feature.
Of course it all looks good and very professional no matter what.
I like the customizable ability for both installs and repairs, but wish there were more and that once you select an item from the saved customized list or from the database list even, that there was an easy way to make a custom amendments in at least the description so you could have the ability to make slight adjustments in model numbers and or the description to fit unique job circumstances (and be able to keep up with ever changing model numbers and even AHRI match data)

Cons: There is no way to type in any kind of a direct dollar value discount at the end of the work order which would fit in with my finance options.
I would also like to be able to add a line for a tip to be added for the techs.
If there was a way to add pictures of the customers system or work in both the customer noted and the internal noted that would be phenominal. The ability to add a pdf attachment for special contract would also be nice.
I like to add standard statements that are often legally required to include in various jobs we do. It would be nice to have the ability to add a list of customized standard statements that need to be approved but don't have any money value attached to them. As it stands I put my customized statements in the install custom list and just added zero dollar amount with it. I also think that the standard statements added to a work order should not be counted toward the cost of the work order.

Overall: Simplified my daily efforts.

I like a lot but a lot is to desired.

Pros: Ease of use. Can be operated quickly with little experience. Like the part finder if you know how to use it.

Cons: I hate when it wants to update while either writing notes or searching for a part. I wish there were tabs in my favorites for favorite filters, types of freon, or belts instead of looking over my favorites 3 or for times. I wish I could add a custom part or charge myself instead of having my office remake what I've already done just so they can send it back to me to add it on my favorites. All of the other techs said the same about updates. Add them to the home page when available. Frustrating. Finally inputting carrier numbers usually calls for 2 additional numbers or letters at the beginning of a part number. If typed in using the part number supplied from carrier it fails to find it. If those 2 first numbers or letters are left off when typing it in it will find it every time. I have found this only on carrier parts. Thank you for your help.

Pros: Easy to use, I love the repair look up format. Customer service is awesome and I have never had to wait on hold or have someone call me back. Being able to read, write or check the status of a work order from anywhere is great. The customers love the invoice format and the fact it is emailed to them right there on the spot! It integrates with Payzer which makes taking credit cards or financing so easy!! I especially love the customer surveys that are automatically sent out and being able to pass a gift along to a new customer or a customer having a birthday or anniversary! It integrates with quickbooks and google calendars...love that!!!

Cons: I wished we could sent a email to a customer letting g them know we are on the way. Being able to separate invoices by counties or municipalities for year in license payment.

Overall: Being a user and believer in Flat Rate this software makes it easy...one less headache to deal with!!!

Pros: Easy to learn & use. Straightforward and simple for the customer to understand. Send work-orders, estimates or invoices directly to customer's email.

Cons: Integration. We have to manually move each work-order from CF into our accounting software. This is just a matter of linking (with QuickBooksOnline) and then this thing will be unstoppable for us!!

Overall: Love the way it streamlines everything for the technician in the field. The Coolfront team is great and they are continually improving their services and spectrum. Only star missing is on Features & Functionality, because it is (for us) a stand-alone program that does not integrate with our accounting software (QuickBooksOnline), yet. Prospective users - you can't go wrong with this! Definitely add eTouch for extremely effective customer feedback & review collection!

Recommendations to other buyers: Get eTouch! No kidding. Best customer feedback and review utility so far. I'm not sure what magic they perform, but our customer response ratio is very high (80+%) and feedback is beneficial for improvements.

Comments: Cool front is great in looking for a flat rate pricing app. However, they are lacking in ALOT of features. Theres no way to keep in contact with customers to keep your brand top of mind. They claim to have connectivity to quickbooks online and this is not true. Ive used the software. They charge you PER LINE on every work order. Image this can run up a bill pretty quick. And in cool fronts case it depletes your work orders very fast. You wonder why 50 work orders are gone like that. Because they are deceiving and not charging you for work orders they are charging you PER LINE. Not to mention the will even insult you if you tell them you don¿t like the pricing structure or try to give them suggestions. This to me is poor customer service. If they can¿t take feedback they won¿t get any where. We paid almost $200 for these guys running their software in less than a month. We moved over the Housecall Pro and have NEVER looked back. Housecall is a dream compared the cool front. No they don¿t have the pricing but you can import the pricing into housecall pro and away you go. 100X more features and a flat monthly fee. We paid $344 for 6 months of service. Thats a no brainer. Cool front on the other hand - id stay away.

I'd like to clarify a few of your comments! -Email your Coolfront customers- Coolfront's new customer export feature allows you to export your customer list for email marketing or direct mail so you can stay top of mind. -Integration with QuickBooks Online- Coolfront is fully integrated with QuickBooks installed but is not integrated with QuickBooks Online. We're working on that feature but there is no launch date quite yet. In the meantime, we do have a work around for QuickBooks Online. -Coolfront charges every 4th line item- Coolfront will charge the $1.59 per 4th line item - not every line item. I'm so sorry you had a poor experience with our customer service. We get great feedback from customers about our support. I will be sure to pass your comments along. Kate B

Pros: It isn't complicated to use for my techs. The mobile app is easy. The customer must approve the repairs before work is done.

Cons: 1. Not enough spaces to enter my description and pricing (favorites).
2. Changes customer information randomly (we will change a phone number, then after saving it, it will revert back to what was previously automatically generated - addresses, names, etc.).
3. Expensive
4. Does not enter an invoice into quickbooks if there isn't an amount and when we do a service that is prepaid for then there isn't a dollar amount and it will not put it in my system so I am double inputing.
5. On the mobile app, every single time we use it, it constantly requests us to update, even if we just did the update.

Overall: It helped us integrate into a service based software for our techs to use in the field instead of using hand written invoices.

We have used Coolfront for 4 years, and find it a valuable tool for our company.

Pros: We like not having paper work. Both the customers & our office like the digital service ticket. It's also very convenient to watch what a service tech is doing by checking in on Coolfront. I like being able to add as many notes as I want, and then if I have to go back 6 months later I can see what happened on a service call.

Cons: There are 3 things that come to mind that I would like to see changed. #1 - I would like to search & not have to include a date range. It would be convenient to just put in a house number or last name. #2 - I wish unpaid tickets could display a different color (maybe yellow? ) and then not archive until they are paid. #3 - Also if we could search for tickets based on their status. ( Paid/Complete/New/ Started)

Overall: less paperwork, easy to access from anywhere, easy to see what happened on previous service calls.

I use this everyday, all day, and do like it. I just wish it did a bit more & had a few more things

Pros: I like that it syncs to Google Calendar & Quickbooks. I also enjoy the Parts Cart for resupplying the technicians. I enjoy easily being able to find repairs to bill them to the work order/invoice. I like being able to add custom repairs, discounts and pricing.

Cons: I don't like that the billed time/cost of part don't show on the internal view of the work order/invoice. I don't like that I can't run a report of average hours/dollars for each technician, since those values don't sync over into Quickbooks when the invoice does. I wish there was a way to "Pause" a work order so that the technician can return to it later due to possible part delay, weather delay or other circumstance. I wish we could customize the line item field for repairs other than creating a repeat custom repair for those time that it is an unusual circumstance or repair. I would like to be able to run some sort of report of what dollar/hour per work order/invoice we are tracking within the app itself.
These are just a few of the items I would like to see within the Coolfront App.

Overall: In-field invoicing & pricing. Ease of scheduling. Parts reorder simplified.

Pros: Coolfront allows our technicians to bill our customer and receive payment at time of service which I feel has greatly reduced the number of outstanding accounts.

I really like the auto-fill feature for repeat customers. I also like how easy it is to add special repairs that can't be found in the automated repair list.

Cons: I don't like the fact that you don't have an option to look for updates-a message pops up to update and it's always at a bad time.

I also don't like the limited amount of custom items under tune-ups and discounts. We could really use more in both areas as there are still items that are not listed or are listed but are way off on the amount to bill the customer.

I wish there was a way that we could update the actual cost of parts vs using the price that is listed. There are many times that the cost listed vs our actual cost is very, very different.

It works well. I wish it was easier to search for customers & if they merged better.

Pros: I like the ease of entering the information. I like that you can email receipt to customer right away. I like how it can be an invoice or a receipt.

Cons: It's not easy to search for a customer unless you know the date of the last time you were there. That is my major disappointment with this program. Searching for customers & history & merging the calls together. I ALWAYS have to go to add on & Merge. I wish it was more automatic. I use wintac & it always pulls up correct customer just by entering a few letters or address. You dont' even need complete info. If Coolfront doesn't correct the merge/search soon I will have to switch to a different software/dispatching program.

Overall: emailing of invoices & receipts. Flat rate pricing.

Finally able to bill upon completions in the field.

Pros: Being able to bill the customer right on the spot and collect the money is great. This keeps the cash flow going and we have less bad debt from customers that refuse to pay later. It is also nice that all bills are consistent, just in case neighbors would compare. I also like that it will prefill info from our QuickBooks database. Very easy to set up new customers and add or change information. It is nice it will show previous service call information on the form for easy reference.

Cons: Sometimes the program can run slow. This can cause our guys in the field to have to wait until the changes come through to their I pads.

Overall: I think it saves the company and makes the dreaded end of the month billing obsolete.

It's a nice program. Have been using it for a couple of years and have no real complaints.

Pros: Pro the software is usable in offline mode. The fact customer's are stored online and pay supporters are saved is excellent.
The ability to assign management duties to individuals controlling their level of interaction. Google calendar integration is great.

Cons: Cons, I do wish the navigation between screens was't so involved. A common menu through the app would make it easier as opposed to the back button. And currently it is only compatible with QuickBooks to synch with. A feature which I'm sure is nice but I don't use QuickBooks which makes my bookkeeping all manual. No ability to download invoices as spread sheet. Search feature is good but could be simplified. Dispatching can be a little confusing if more than 5 tech's. The app doesn't work well with some of our other office management software.

Overall: Easier usage. No storage for paper invoices.

Coolfront allows us to bill at the location & also for integration into our other systems.

Pros: I enjoy that it allows technician to quote and bill at the location. Also that they can request the parts they used to be replenished. I like that the invoices sync with our accounting software (Quickbooks) for billing and our Google Calendar for scheduling. Each tech can see their scheduled day laid out in order with location & what the service to be performed is. Very simple to employ. Having each tech, office admin and manager being able to use an individual login takes much of the scheduling confusion from the service techs.

Cons: I don't like that there aren't any reports that can be run to find work orders outstanding that fall outside the parameters of: Last 30 days, This month, This week.
I don't like that the hours required for the selected repairs aren't shown on the "internal version" of the printed invoice/work order. That would be very helpful for payroll and flat rate billing.

Overall: Integration & simplification.

Pros: Consistent pricing throughout the service department, easy access to prior service records, customers respond well to pricing they can see. The process for getting customer approval is simple and easy, even for customers who have difficulty with adapting to technology.

Cons: The process for looking up certain repairs can be cumbersome. In starting to adapt to the new search system for repairs it seems that some of the old keywords and phrases which used to work for finding repairs are no longer specific enough to get to find what is needed, also the number of items which are available to look through when searching in a broad sense have been greatly reduced and this has created some problems when searching for general repairs.

Overall: Uniform pricing, and an easy, understandable process for customer approval of repairs.

Very good. Readily accepted and implemented by service technicians.

Pros: Easy to use. Usage cost is applied to each ticket. Data bases updated regularly. QB integration. Am really liking the recently added feature of "installs & quotes".

Cons: Some of our problems are due to slow internet I suspect. Don't like the automatic archiving of work orders. I want it put away when I deem it appropriate. Don't like the new search engine dynamics. Old one was better in my opinion.

Overall: Cost reduction overall of processing service related billing and customer tracking. Also reduction in preprinted forms. Repairs data base that is always up to date. Made is a more profitable service company due to uniform pricing and makes it easy for tech to price out job.

Pros: We like the paperless billing. It is nice to be able to look up products and show the customer right on the spot and email the receipt upon completion of the service call.

Cons: Having to switch to a different screen to add multiple quantities of items.

Overall: We have used Coolfront for 3 years now. It has definitely improved throughout the years. It gives our techs accurate pricing and helps us provide instant invoices to our customers. We will continue to use this program and have referred others to it as well. Overall the functionality of it is great! I can't wait to see what the come up with next.

Recommendations to other buyers: Its is a good product! I hope it continues to evolve! Maybe with a GPS or map functions. Or a time card feature.

Pros: We had tried 2 other scheduling software providers prior to finding COOLFRONT. In both cases the experience was stressful and was not beneficial to our company's production and therefore our bottom line. COOLFRONT has had 2 positive effects on our business. Not only did it solve our scheduling conflict issues, but also gave us access to new, up-to-date, flat rate pricing that has increased our bottom line and helped us become a more productive service company.

Cons: If there was one thing I would change about COOLFRONT, It would be to give ADMIN the ability to make changes to the cost of a part. When management feels like a customer needs a discount for that part or service, in my opinion, It would be much easier to simply adjust the cost of the entry that a tech has already found in the COOLFRONT data base, instead of having to make up a custom repair and price for that part .

Pros: Allowing real-time access to customer work orders and not having to keep up with "paper"work. I like that it syncs with our computer software, which makes it easier to receive work orders for invoicing faster for billing purposes. This will allow the customer to receive their invoice faster and allow payments to be accepted on the job site. The ability to be able to do that stood out to me and my technicians, making our jobs easier and more productive.

Cons: An improvement needed was to be able to work offline - sending and receiving customer information. Having the need for wifi slows the process of receiving work orders & invoices to the billing department from the technicians while they are out in the field.

Excellent. Changed our service department for the better.

Pros: Glance back is extremely helpful. Merge it is also extremely helpful.
Email button to send invoice or receipt to customer is great.
Able to use system off line is very important to us. Cellular service is not great in our area.

Cons: Would like to add more default email addresses. For example, when I send to customer I would also like accounting to get the invoice as well as myself ( Service Manager)
Parts Cart doesn't show up all the time so it quit thinking about it. When I view a techs work order I don't see Parts cart.

Pros: We no longer have missing invoices. We can now read what the technicians types in, compared to the written invoices. User friendly, and very easy to train our new employees with this software. I would highly recommend, this has made our lives easier in the field and in the office!

Overall: We have been with Coolfront from the Beginning, and i would highly recommend this to any HVAC / Plumber or Electrician.

Recommendations to other buyers: I don't know if it would be possible, but I would love to have something for timesheets, so as the invoice is completed to track the timing and sync to Quickbooks. We always have a hard time having our technicians hand in the timesheets daily.

Pros: That our techs have access to flat rate pricing and being it is web based have access on any tablet, laptop, desktop or phone if necessary

Cons: Invoices that are still open or pending drop off into archives. Would like to see the system only sense the paid invoices drop into archives automatically after the current time it does it and leave other not mark paid to be manually archived

Overall: Gives us the ability to be a more paperless company where the majority of our invoices get emailed verses printed and mailed out and as a result can get payment faster when customer is not home to make payment at time of service

Pros: The ease of use and how the screens operate. The new search is better and having options to filter also is a plus. Being able to populate past customer information and having a history of their previous services would assist techs in the field.

Cons: There isn't enough parts listed for certain types of equipment and usually have to either pick a part close or more often than not create my own repair, sometimes the price needs adjusting as well. With the elderly or folks with vision glasses it is often stated that the grey writing is difficult to discern.

Pros: Integrates with Quickbooks easily. Keeps a history (Glance Back) of previous service calls for the customer that is super easy to review. Updates database frequently to keep abreast of changing commodity prices (refrigerant, etc.). Zero cost to business to use. Hands down, the best choice for any HVAC business! Uses the same flat rate as Profit Strategies, but in an electronic, searchable form.

Overall: Consistent pricing helps me and my customers know that if I send Tech A or Tech B out, the price will be the same because they are using the same flat rate book! Also, customer history and Quickbooks integration is the cats' meow! Highly recommend this software for any HVAC, Plumbing or Electrical Contractor out there as a zero cost way to get into the flat rate pricing model.

Pros: Great pricing and updates! It allows us to stay competitive with pricing with the updating flat rate.

I like that the program updates instantly. I can edit and update work orders while the technician has the work order assigned. I like that I don't have to wait on techs to send work orders back to be able to change them.

The techs prefer this software to the previous one we used.

The invoicing straight out of Coolfront feature is great and saves time.

I like that there is a place for technicians to get signatures from customers for approval for work.

Cons: NO DISPATCH BOARD. Currently I have to utilize another software to see the layout of the daily schedule. It would make my job as dispatcher much easer if Coolfront had a dispatch board.

There is no way to build your customer data base besides building new work orders.

An area for techs to put in equipment would be wonderful. It would allow our techs to enter equipment info to build more customer history, and to allow us to know what each customer has at their home or business.

Finally, having an area where technicians can log their times would be super helpful. For example: Dispatch, Arrival, & Departed times.

Using coolfront has been a good investment for my company.

Pros: Up front pricing for my customers. It allows me to set my margin without employees being involved with cost of materials and markup. It has increased my profitability since implementing this software.

Cons: I've had a few complaints about the pricing. In some instances it does seem to be too much. I've had several complaints about the length of the invoice numbers. I've also received two complaints from a property management company; first the work order number stays a work order number on the ticket and does not change to an invoice number. This requires the staff to print the invoice and then write the work order number under the writing "Invoice" in order to process the invoice.a the second issue is they want me to email the invoice directly to the company that processes their AP, but the require the invoices in a PDF format. Can anything be done on these issues?

Pros: It is super user friendly & easy to use. I love that it can be used on a computer, cell phone or tablet and there is no subscription. You only pay for what you use.

Cons: I wish it would show the price of repairs before you select it..... sometimes our techs aren't sure which repair to pick until they see what the charge will be & then they have to go in and delete it if its way out there.

Overall: Easy to use, and the work order immediately shows up on the techs device, eliminating the need for the tech to drive all the way back to our office to gets their next work order

Pros: Convenience of quoting repairs to homeowners is very nice. Having the ability to report to customer the cost of repairs on the spot is a nice feature.

Cons: Far too many repair options for very similar repairs. Repairs database is not fully customizable to company usage to limit search times but does offer features for company and tech favorites for regularly used repairs.

Pros: Easy to dispatch techs. Customer approval works great for pricing approval. Glance back is great for techs.

Cons: Parts finding is hard for techs to find exact parts. Not all makes are in the parts system . To easy to make 2 separate customer files and then glance back doesn't help the techs. I wish I could link more then 1 tech to a work order. I would like to be able to put sales tax and residential hourly rate as default instead of always having to change it. I wish equipment listing was part of the customer information.

Pros: When looking at flat rate books vs coolfront's mobile software, it was clear coolfront was the way to go. The database is always updating with market fluctuations and with the ability to add custom items it is a great fit for us.

Cons: The new search engine is pretty rough and seems to be lacking compared to the previous version. The ability to add a custom discount to a ticket without having to add it to the whole system first would be great. And the ability to change the order of items on the ticket would be fantastic.

Overall: If you are starting or have an existing business in the plumbing, HVAC, or electrical trade this software will keep your pricing competitive and will help you business be profitable. It has happened to all of us at least once, were we bid a job and think we are making money, but in all reality we aren't. We didn't figure in all our overhead, such as tires, oil, insurance, tools, etc. This software may not always be the easiest to navigate, so before you get all bent out of shape call customer support. They are the most energetic support team I have ever dealt with. Hell they even give you the opportunity to try it for FREE.

Pros: The program itself is awesome! Before the new update I could make and complete a ticket in minutes ease of use and teach ability to new techs was outstanding. Go back to before the new update!

Cons: The new search option is terrible. It deletes everything I type into it because it's trying to "guess" what I'm looking for!And makes finding parts so much harder!. Just slows the system down and becomes a pain.

Comments: Overall a good program and handy for service technicians. So much easier to read than the hand writing of some of the technicians out there.

Pros: I use coolfront on a daily basis and without it there would be a lot of lost jobs. We can quote water heater replacements and some repairs directly from the office. Our technicians use ipads on the site to run the program and collect payment - it is simple for them and gets payment quickly.

Cons: The new search feature is worse than the previous search feature. However the Coolfront team is constantly making changes, updates, and actually listening to customers in making improvements.

Pros: After investing electronic devices you have electronic invoices. as you build a customer base CoolFront will populate the invoice for you. This saves time and helps the techs get the right invoice information.

Cons: Every once and a while the program will do something goofy.

Comments: A problem we found with Coolfront: When an invoice is generated in Coolfront, sales tax is added to it. Fine. When it syncs to Quickbooks, sales tax is added again. Not Fine. We have to manually go in and tweak each and every single invoice generated by Coolfront. I personally brought this to the attention of a CF representative, and the attitude I got was "that's not our problem, that's a QB problem." I feel that since CF is designed to work with QB, not the other way around, it is indeed a CF issue. But that was months ago and the issue still has not been corrected.

I invite a CF rep to fix this issue (not just post a reply trying to convince other readers that this problem doesn't exist), and I will gladly post a glowing review of how attentive you were. Dear readers: if you don't see a follow up review from me that these problems have been corrected, you can safely assume that they haven't.

Just to recap the resolution ... to avoid double-taxation from both apps, it's important to either: A) Set your QuickBooks preferences to not charge sales tax or B) Set up a 0% sales tax item to apply to invoices added via Coolfront Sync. Just so you know, all taxes calculated in Coolfront are recorded in a liability account that you can report on for filing purposes. Pros: Available in the cloud, so it's accessible anywhere. The software also works offline, for the most part. The best part is that the software is based on flat rate pricing, and that makes pricing and completing work orders fast.

Cons: Sometimes finding repairs in the database is a difficult task. Although the search function gets better over time, some repairs just don't seem to come up when searching for the logical keywords that you would first think to use.

Overall: Consistent pricing from customer to customer for similar repairs. Flat rate pricing also helps us to charge appropriate prices that are fair for both us and the customer.

Overall: This is not a very thought out program. There is not a good working flow. We started with the books (over priced) then went to the Ipad, could not use anything but the ipad when it came out.
The price keeps going up and the quality goes down. You have to log out to take a credit card payment.
Why cant there be one program the will use our existing customer list and flow it thru the hole process .

Comments: We have four techs running and three people in the office we rely solely on this to work for our scheduling and it keeps dropping service calls so that the tech cant see them anymore but the office can.. it also freezes on our desktop versions in the middle of a rush so we cant enter or see work orders. The interrogation with google calendar and cool front we also tried to use and it caused mass confusion in the office because if you had to change something on the calendar to give it to another tech it would delete the work order completely it was a nightmare!

Pros: Dispatching capabilities and being able to see past invoices for a customer you are working on at that moment. Also like being able to enter notes.

Cons: Search functions and price increases

Overall: What they did not explain up front is that after 3 line items you get charged for another invoice. If you try a line item and decide to delete it for another, it still counts as a line item; no room for experimenting. The sort and search features leave a lot to be desired. Prices have been raised 4 times since I began with this program...under two years ago.

Cons: So many multiple or duplicate repairs with the same description and cost for repair but has a different code number so it makes searching for specific repairs difficult at times

Overall: Coolfront is a good operating system that does perform well for our technicians. When it comes to searching for cost of repairs, there are many repairs that are not included in their database. There are also SO many multiple or duplicate repair entries that the search for a repair you want takes more time than the repair itself at times. Other than that it performs well with all our entries and searching prior work is great with the archive feature.

Comments: From a "dispatch" perspective, coolfront is untouchable. Enter calls on the fly, invoice, take payments, and capture signatures easier then any other software out there. We've used Coolfront now for a little over a year and we love the concept and ease of use. This is what has kept us using coolfront, but as our business has grown and our needs matured, we have recently started exploring other software to replace.
Where they fall short:
-customer history: there is no tangible customer history list or database to explore IN THE SOFTWARE. you can query "the cloud" an invisible archive by searching a name, address ,ect ect.. and hope it plucks out the invoice but its very common for this not to work. you can upload to quickbooks, which is never a smooth transition, and is rather inconvenient when you need to find work history without jumping out of one platform into another.
-Service agreement mngmnt: they do offer a separate software, but it does not integrate with coolfront invoicing therefor does not flag you if the call is a contract client, or handles their adjusted pricing. Plus the software was extremely overpriced compared to other ALL IN ONE softwares on the market. Coolfront would greatly benefit by integrating the two.
- no way to edit a line item on the invoice, if you type it wrong or need to edit the price, you have to erase and start all over. this can become annoying.
- there is no way to track equipment on the job site, model serial, units, ect ect....

All softwares have their pros and cons... in my opinion if coolfront made the improvements listed above, they would dominate

Pros: My techs can add pricing on the spot and my customer immediately gets to approve and get a receipt.

Cons: Difficulty finding repairs. Would love if the data base was broke down where if its a plumbing call, the technician only sees plumbing repairs and if it is a hvac repair, the technician only sees hvac repairs. Also, would like to be able to set different price points for plumbing vs. hvac. The plumbing quite often seems a little high for our area while the hvac is on target, but we can't differentiate rates or mark ups for each trade.

Pros: Easy to use and most items are easy to find. The layout of the workorders & invoices look good. And like the ability to email a copy to the customer.

Cons: The way the workorders line up in a row instead of each workorder under each technician. It would be easier if we could see each workorder for each technician on a schedule board.

Pros: I like that it is fast and user friendly, easy to use. I also like that when there is an issue it is easily fixed most of the time.

Cons: I don't like that when a problem does occur and we have to call the help desk it is told to us that it is usually something that has to do with our firewall on our computers.

Overall: easy to have my techs use when I have dispatched their calls to them

Pros: The ability to share customer data with manager, office staff, technicians & customers, somewhat live time.
Ease of finding appropriate services and discounts to apply to work order.
Ease of adding new services, pricing & discounts.
Ease of using with customer other than old school customers who prefer hard copies. Believe it or not some customers still DO NOT have email.

Cons: Searching function not quick. No font, bold, italic or color change options. Not easy to integrate with QBooks. Not able to add attachments. We run out of work orders fast, a little pricey.

Overall: Sharing necessary data with technicians without having to call them, text them or email them (busy office).

Pros: The constant updates for pricing and large inventory pre priced jobs. The customization area is well designed too.

Cons: Does not auto save customer notes or internal notes. I have lost many, many large paragraphs due to incoming phone call or text message or application I had to get access and lost them because I forgot to save the notes

Overall: I get paid, keep my job.

Coolfront is a great tool that has many features that make life more simple.

Pros: It makes it better for the office staff to be able to track the technicians by seeing what tickets they have entered each day. Used to its full potential, technicians can interact with the office staff by making notes on their tickets.

Cons: I do not like the format of how you have to search for archived tickets. It is not quick and easy to go search for an archived ticket and then get back to the work orders screen. It takes a few steps and a little bit more time than I would like for it to.

Overall: Saving paper

The new search feature is not user friendly at all. Bring back the old search function.

Pros: From a business stand point I love how it has helped cashflow and has helped lower the amount that we have to write off to bad debt. Helps weed out the customers who never had any intention on paying.

Cons: The search functions are horrible. Please bring back the old search function. There is a lot of time wasted trying to search for the codes.

Pros: Coolfront is amazing. It helps us have a better relationship with our customers. Its easy to use and straight to the point when it comes to giving our customers the price for repairs.

Cons: I don't think there is anything I don't like about this software. Its easy to use and really affordable.

Overall: easy on the go invoicing for our technicians.

We have been using Coolfront since October 2017. Work orders and invoices are SO much easier now! Thank you!

Comments: I'm so glad you had a rep at the Armstrong dealership meeting in Omaha last Fall!

Pros: We have basically been able to go paperless since using Coolfront. We can send invoices from Coolfront and it syncs with Quickbooks.

Cons: So far, I haven't come across any part of Coolfront that I don't like. we use it on the computer and use the mobile app on our phones.

Pros: A very extensive data base whit very good description of the different products an repairs, the ability of adding your own repair

Cons: The new serarch engine has made more difficult to find a Or search for a repair, for example Friday I was looking for ( replace evaporator coil) the program can't find it. Outside disconnect can't find it

Hard to find products and sync is frustrating. Creates new customers with a #2 #3 etc.. bookkeeping

Pros: It's taking a lot of the paperwork out of my service calls. Even after completing a call you can go back later in the archives and look and see the history of that system. I feel as a service tech it's probably one of my best tools of the trade. You have all the information right at your fingertips it makes running service a breeze.

Cons: I personally had none. If I had to pick one for some reason it would be the layout of the software Now versus the old way

Pros: Very user friendly, the software is easy to use. It allows me to search for customers with no trouble at all.

Cons: Sometimes it doesn't. Link properly with Quickbooks. If the name is too long coolfront won't allow it to sync.

Overall: We can easily keep track of our customers. And our services we provide for our customers. It allows us to keep track of our prices too.

Pros: This product is very user friendly. It's easy to teach new technicians how to use the software within the first day of employment.

Cons: The repair list takes some getting used to. You have to learn the lingo to find specific repairs. Once you find the repair you are looking for, you can add it to your favorites for next time.

Pros: The office staff loves having a digital record of all of our calls, along with notes from both office staff and techs. Being able to quote out repairs, have them approved, and collect payment in the field is great for our productivity. We use it as a communication hub between office and techs in the field.

Cons: The office staff wished there were more search functions and filters. The colors defining a closed work order, and started work order, etc. should be different

Pros: Very easy to learn, processing payments at customer home is very convenient, and being able to send customer a copy of invoice via email is very efficient.

Cons: would like the glance back feature to be more user friendly, to hard to look up specific work when customer calls and asks questions, you need to know the specific date to look up info. or use specific search data to track down customer info.

Overall: Billing and collecting payment on site has helped lower past due invoices, less paper used in office.

Pros: It does all the figuring for me and there is no guessing on total cost of parts. Customer get get price before work is done and gets more customers

Pros: The professional look. I like the flat rate pricing, it is just hard sometimes to match the exact part with what we are installing.

Cons: Sometimes abrupt changes are made without notice. For example, the PMA agreement now says "per year" after it, and ours is 3 years so I hope Coolfront can take that off for us.

Pros: we like how easy the software is to use and teach to new employees. We like having everything live to expedite orders and billing.

Cons: I wish addresses and phone numbers were one touch shortcuts directly from the app. I wish the database for each field were separate from all the other trades.

Pros: Being able to schedule the techs & see how they are filling out the customers invoice. The ease of bringing up regular customers information when they call just by entering last name or address or even phone number.

Cons: Wish we could assign more than 1 tech to a job. Having a code or some type of description showing the type of service in the customer's profile without having to open the whole invoice to see what service we are doing.

Cons: Hard to find things sometimes, and if you delete it can cost you another fee. Repairs for instance compressor change out allows 6 hours or more, the average time for us is not over 4.

Comments: I've you coolfront for years. It's very reliable. I would like an integration with square.

Pros: Large database of parts and repairs. Works in areas without an internet connection. Pay as you go. Zero cost.

Cons: The app seems to pick the worst time to update. It doesn't have a way to initiate the update on your own.

Pros: Built in parts pricing is a hole lot easier, less to keep up with. Labor rates built in is definitely nice

Cons: The new search, guess I haven't gotten used to it yet. It's been a lot harder to get the right parts on the first try

Pros: You are able to view the previous 5 service calls on selected customer. You are able to merge a customers information, if on the off chance that it was entered in differently by another employee. I am still learning all the fun features of the program and it is SO much better than what I used to work with (SuccessWare), BY FAR! Customer service has always been very helpful when there is a area of concern or a quick question.

Cons: Service agreements are in another web application. You have to switch back and forth to update information. Not a huge problem, but when only have access via phone it is cumbersome and difficult. And too, there may be a way to change that, that I have not come across yet as I am still learning the product.
If I could make a small suggestion, it would be nice to be able to hover over the daily work orders and have it pop up with the information, at this time you have to open it to view the entire contents.

Pros: I do like the ease of imputing repairs. My office staff seems to be okay with how the system operates.

Cons: I do not like the fact that this software does not do any type of performance reports per service tech. For instance I would like to know how many calls each tech completes, how many billed hours each tech completes, average ticket per tech. There are so many things that you collect data for but do not offer a way to put them into a report.

Pros: It's secure and if a employe quits they have no info of your buisness, that you can confirm pricing and get them to sign

Cons: That when you send out the emial you can't leave a personal note . It has to be on notes only , and you don't know if they have opened the email or got it.

Overall: I am a small HVAC contractor that was looking for a cost effective method of getting on board with flat rate pricing and I cannot imagine a better product for the purpose.
it was very easy to set up and get started.
I have definitely seen an increase in service profits. I believe at least some of the added benefits come from being able to find the repair items so easily.
