We have been with Coolfront from the Beginning, and i would highly recommend this to any HVAC / Plumber or Electrician.

Pros

We no longer have missing invoices. We can now read what the technicians types in, compared to the written invoices. User friendly, and very easy to train our new employees with this software. I would highly recommend, this has made our lives easier in the field and in the office!

Not over charging and not under charging. No more money left on the table.

Pros

The ease of use. Customer can see that the prices are fixed and that helps out a lot. They know that we are not fixing prices to different areas.

Cons

No really bad sides to this software. More so to my phone service provider when I'm in an area that doesn't have good cell Service it takes a while to write up an invoice.

Overall, we have been very pleased with Coolfront. We have been using it for about 3 years now.

Pros

We went from doing everything on paper and phone calls to using Coolfront and things are so much easier. We used to call the techs when a call came in and give them the information on where they needed to go. They were doing all the workorders on paper and prices were not consistent between the techs. Now they are all using Coolfront and dispatching is so much easier and they are able to do all the pricing through Coolfront. We have gotten them mobile printers and they are able to print out the completed work order for the customer and give it to them as their receipt.

Cons

Two things I have heard the guys say they would like is that they would like to be able to click on the customers phone number in Coolfront and have it dial the number. As it is, they have to remember the number in Coolfront and then go to the phone app and put in the number. Also, the same with the address, it would be great if they could have a link to Google maps right there in Coolfront so they can just click on the address and have it bring up the map.

Pros

My favorite part of coolfront is not having to deal with the technicians hand written tickets. We can easily access parts, prices, and it makes it much easier and quicker for us in the office!

Cons

My least favorite part would be going through old archived tickets, I wish you could just type in the dates you need to go to but its really not that much of an inconvenience.

Overall this product saves me time and headaches of tracking service invoices. With this I can price out and invoice service calls all in one step. It is very good at one thing which is service invoicing and going paperless. I'd recommend a secondary way to track and dispatch techs.

Pros

I like the ease of pricing service calls. I can make quotes to customers in under 1 min. most of the time.

Cons

I don't like that we now pay monthly for linking to quick books and google calendar. These used to be free. It seems like there should now just be a single monthly fee vs. piece paying for every little thing.

Pros

The versatility to adjust pricing, and customize tasks. The availablity of the add-ons such as; Quickbooks, Dropbox etc. In addition to other services offered to enhance our business.

Overall this program is great.

Pros

The services techs ability to find repairs takes about 20 seconds. We've used other flat rate systems that are way more time consuming than Cool Front.

Cons

I wish they would be able to have a residential and commercial version. CoolFront mobile uses commercial labor allowances for time, so you end up having to adjust your flat rate labor rate to match, kind of a pain.

easy to have my techs use when I have dispatched their calls to them

Pros

I like that it is fast and user friendly, easy to use. I also like that when there is an issue it is easily fixed most of the time.

Cons

I don't like that when a problem does occur and we have to call the help desk it is told to us that it is usually something that has to do with our firewall on our computers.

I get paid, keep my job.

Pros

The constant updates for pricing and large inventory pre priced jobs. The customization area is well designed too.

Cons

Does not auto save customer notes or internal notes. I have lost many, many large paragraphs due to incoming phone call or text message or application I had to get access and lost them because I forgot to save the notes

Before signing on I specifically asked if all the features were compatible with the Microsoft Surface, and was told yes. Come to find out that you cannot capture a customer’s signature on the surface.

Pros

Like the title says, this is a turnkey product. You install it, make a few customizations and it is basically ready to roll.

Cons

If they could streamline the process of customized tasks, this software would be close to perfect. I have had some issues with hardware compatibility, and getting responses back in regards to credit card processing. They were super aggressive at first, but this dwindled to the point that I was forced to go with a different, non-integrated, credit card processing company.

Reason for choosing FieldEdge Flat Rate Mobile

Lower up front cost.

Saving paper

Pros

It makes it better for the office staff to be able to track the technicians by seeing what tickets they have entered each day. Used to its full potential, technicians can interact with the office staff by making notes on their tickets.

Cons

I do not like the format of how you have to search for archived tickets. It is not quick and easy to go search for an archived ticket and then get back to the work orders screen. It takes a few steps and a little bit more time than I would like for it to.

From a business stand point I love how it has helped cashflow and has helped lower the amount that we have to write off to bad debt. Helps weed out the customers who never had any intention on paying.

Cons

The search functions are horrible. Please bring back the old search function. There is a lot of time wasted trying to search for the codes.

The new serarch engine has made more difficult to find a Or search for a repair, for example Friday I was looking for ( replace evaporator coil) the program can't find it. Outside disconnect can't find it

Pros

Great in the field, makes pricing easier and consistent. Techs find that a professional presentation looks good for customers and company

Cons

Syncing with quickbooks and notes do not transfer. A LOT of work for the bookkeeper jumping back and forth between coolfront and accounting software.

I'm so glad you had a rep at the Armstrong dealership meeting in Omaha last Fall!

Pros

We have basically been able to go paperless since using Coolfront. We can send invoices from Coolfront and it syncs with Quickbooks.

Cons

So far, I haven't come across any part of Coolfront that I don't like. we use it on the computer and use the mobile app on our phones.

My techs handwriting is no longer a problem!! But "auto correct" is still sometimes an issue...

Pros

Simplifies work orders for the office and the techs

Cons

Daily pricing changes!!! I hate the fact that I may quote a customer for replacing an item... and then by the time I get back to do the job the pricing has changed and I am not able to change it back!

Thanks for the review Laura! The "auto-correct" feature would be a setting that you'd need to change on the device you're using Coolfront with. As for the daily pricing changes, we're not sure where that would be coming from since we only push 2-3 updates a month on the pricing so it's accurate but not changing on a daily basis. We're going to have our support team reach out to see if they can assist!

Very user friendly, the software is easy to use. It allows me to search for customers with no trouble at all.

Cons

Sometimes it doesn't. Link properly with Quickbooks. If the name is too long coolfront won't allow it to sync.

Billing and collecting payment on site has helped lower past due invoices, less paper used in office.

Pros

Very easy to learn, processing payments at customer home is very convenient, and being able to send customer a copy of invoice via email is very efficient.

Cons

would like the glance back feature to be more user friendly, to hard to look up specific work when customer calls and asks questions, you need to know the specific date to look up info. or use specific search data to track down customer info.
