Pros: Hubstaff gives different levels of control that can be passed down through the command chain, allowing The Boss to have the total domination he needs to feel like The Boss while enabling middle management to fiddle usefully with things and retain enough control over their team's calendars and settings to not make them feel emasculated and vestigal. Even the rank-and-file employees themselves can be given a decent amount of control -- or not, if that's how you like it.

Cons: The calendars used on their Timesheet pages are really finicky -- sometimes, you swear the thing you just did in order to get from 'looking at today' to 'looking at yesterday' SHOULD have worked, but clearly didn't...and then you do the exact same thing again, and it works like you expected.

Also, and I realize that this is a problem in all similar software but it IS avoidable and SHOULD BE avoided even though it's not actually avoided anywhere, Hubstaff is not great at dealing with timezone changes. So if you have people on the East Coast, people on the West Coast, and people in the Philippines, two of those groups have to learn to think and act like they're in the third group's timezone, and that's hard when you're dealing with entry-level remote workers.

Overall: We're able to track the work time and habits of a mess of remote workers from the other side of the world with relatively little fuss.

Pros: I love how it's so easy to use for any new team member. I can also teach a new manager quickly on how to track those who are below them.

It's also great that I am able to calculate pay easily, and see who has been actually performing the least when online.

Cons: The biggest thing I would love to see is being able to easily check if someone has been adding/modifying their time too much. In the old software that we used, I can easily open a calendar and for each employee, check how many hours was working on the computer, and how many hours were done offline/tracked by the app. I have to go through one by one before actually catching someone who is violating company policies.

Another one would be instead of having the checkbox portion of idle time when people have been away from their computer, make it a radio select where they have to choose whether to keep or delete it. This has caused so much confusion with our team when we started, and would greatly help in making sure that their time is logged correctly.

Overall: Great! It's amazing for the team but needs more options for the manager to be able to easily track employees with whatever variable that is needed.

Pros: * Apps for OSX, iPhone

Cons: * Website is often confusing: always have to look around to find the right page for creating a customized report

* Task durations are only downloadable in hour:minute:second form, which makes it cumbersome if you're importing into a spreadsheet and still need to convert to decimal hours (e.g., convert 1:37:17 to decimal)

* Need to enter tasks when setting up a project: can't enter them in the process of entering time. Would be nice to be able to type a task in the dropdown, have the page display an alert ("Do you want to add the task 'Drive to customer site' to the project?"), add the task to the project, and update the drop-down.

* Would like the option for more flexibility in manually entering times, e.g., if I'm doing something from 9:00

a.m. to 9:38 a.m., and I realize that I haven't started the timer, give me the option of manually entering 40 minutes before 9:40 a.m., even if it's not yet 9:40.

* In general, need more configuration options (see above).

Overall: I needed more flexibility in specifying date ranges than I had in the previous time tracker I was using, and Hubstaff delivered! It's not perfect--and sometimes it's frustrating--but it's nevertheless indispensable to me.

Pros: Hubstaff is, hands down, the best time tracking platform on the market. My business would not function efficiently without it, and I honestly wouldn't be able to be as mobile as I am without it. My business model depends upon collaborations and Hubstaff makes that possible for me with very little time spent on administration. You simply can't beat the cost for what you get!

Cons: While Hubstaff is brilliant at what it does, I haven't upgraded to their premium account because I find the payroll and billing to lack the flexibility I need to work well. For example, it doesn't allow me to write-in a description of activities accomplished on the billing, which some of my clients require. So I'm stuck using other platforms for that. Also, there's so much potential in their task system to replace other project management platforms, but it's not there yet.

Overall: It saves me so much time and allows me to easily check work product progress for my staff and partner consultants who work a state a way or across the world. It also allow me to be completely mobile when I need to be and allows the same for my staff/partners.

Pros: This software is a brilliant price for what it does. When looking for a good time tracking software I wasn't too sure which would be best for me, however, I figured it was worth a shot. I only use it's basic features - eg I don't use the invoicing etc just the time tracking but by doing so I have really managed to optimise my time spent on both client work and personal work. I also like the ease of use of the software. I primarily use the Mac Application but have also used Hubstaff on my phone (iPhone) and PC - all of which have been simple to use.

Cons: At first, I found it difficult to find monthly reporting, however after a quick Google I managed to resolve this. I think it could be made easier to find.

Overall: Hubstaff allows me to keep track of how much time I'm spending on each of my clients individually as well as how much time I am spending on my own work such as accounts or my own social media. In turn, it has allowed me to work out a much bette hourly rate to work towards and allows me to identify those clients who take up too much of my time for their budget.

I use the Hubstaff monthly reports to give a clearer overview of where my time has been spent.

Overall, Hubstaff has allowed me to work to better financial goals as well as helping with optimising my time.

A company that really gives that plus!

Comments: I am with them now for (I think) a month (and a half?). The desktop App works flawlessly. It is really easy to integrate with Gitlab, Github etc. (I did not try anything else since i'm using these only) My clients love that they can see that how much time I spent on an Issue. When I close the Issue with the desktop app, it comments to the issue the tracked time. I can feel that they really care about me as a customer. I had some issue with the payment (from my bank's side) they extended my trial so I can keep tracking time while my bank fixed the issue... :) I remember some week ago they were under maintenance for a short time on Sunday (when the less customer were tracking time). Unfortunately I was online, tracking my time, just to see that I lost 1 or 2 hour. I reported it, they told me sorry and they even offered to pay the lost hours. :) I turned down the offer since I could add it manually, but this is something that... that you may be never going to see from other companies. :) I tried a lot of time tracking solutions but stopped them using after 1-2 weeks. I'm still using Hubstaff ( I broke my personal record with them ) Maybe the great service, maybe the excellent customer support... I don't really know. They're just right for me.

Pros: They care about you. Good pricing / well priced. Easy to use Dashboard. Easy to use Desktop App. (that integrates pretty well with other services, like GitLab) They handle your problem lightning fast. Even if it requires further development. I mean seriously... you report a bug or something that it is not working as intended and it gets fixed in a short span of time... (mine got fixed in 1 or 2 weeks, it was some integration problem with Gitlab)

Cons: Well maybe if I could add manual time between any range, like: 8:01 - 8:08 not just every 10 minutes like: 8:00, 8:10, 8:20, 8:30... but I usually track instead of adding manually. :)

Pros: I liked #1 that you fully support a LINUX client. So hard to find that support these days. I also liked the integrations with other platforms for pulling in projects and subprojects. We use LiquidPlanner for our project management, and Hubstaff made it so much easier to track my time.

Cons: I had a problem getting it to connect to multiple sources. I tried pulling from LiquidPlanner for project stuff, and Asana for task management, but could never quite get it working. I was working with tech support on it, when my company basically pulled the plug and went a different direction, so I never got to see the final solution.

Overall: My main problem I was looking to solve was time keeping. I wanted a small tool that would sit in my tray that I could easily switch between projects. As a consultant, I need to track my time in a fairly accurate manner, not only for my customers, but for internal forecasting on how long services take to deliver. Hubstaff made that very easy with an app that sat in my tray, and was a simple click to start/stop time, or change projects on the fly.

Pros: I like how easy it is to separate my projects and start/stop the clock. My favorite feature is that hubstaff can detect when I've been idle and accidentally left the timer running.

Cons: I work in tv animation and use this software only for myself. Therefore, it has a ton of features that I don't need, and sometimes I think another product might be better for me. My main wish for hubstaff is that there was an intuitive way to just click on a project and see the total hours spent on it. A kind staff member helped me out with this issue, but I'd still rather see an easy way to just click on the project name and receive the results!

Overall: I was able to form a more accurate picture for myself of how long it truly takes me to design a full episode, as well as my daily average, and it's helped me work towards my goals of being more productive.

Pros: Hubstaff is a great tool to track down your team and ensure that team is productive in-spite of working in distributed environment.

It is not always necessary to closely monitor the people working for you, however sometimes it is unavoidable. Hubstaff gives a great way to feel satisfied that team is working on the right task & that too with good productivity.

Way to capture screen shots & track down activities are good.

Best way is to customize how many screen captures you want, & what all needs to be tracked.

It is great to use this tool on various platforms & track all very well.

Cons: I liked the previous theme better, though new look is good too.

In desktop version, sometimes I feeling async in time tracking vs web version, but all in all it is good.

Pros: Easy operation, flexible setup, convenient tariffs, and a good application. The big advantage is the integration with most services.

Cons: I would like to combine the advantages of the old version of the dashboard and a new one, for example, there is no daily activity in the new version. There are also problems with the desktop application. Namely, the setting of the monitors, from which the screenshots make the program. Pros: Great tool for Managing team and time logs.

We can now measure our time and especially measure the time of remote workers.

Its also great if I have to give reports to clients. So client dont ask much regarding the efforts that has been put by the agency.

Reports and time log is really awesome.

My friends use the feature of paying the freelancers or contract employees via Hubstaff and recommends it to be great, however I have never used that feature.

Cons: Quite expensive for a small team.

User Interface is extremely confusing. If a new user joins Hubstaff to check reports, it is one of the hardest part for them.

Support is quite poor too. You message them today and they will reply you next day. Although they have attached a chat bot in the dashboard, but no one replies.

Overall: It is a great tool for time logging. However the user interface is really really hard to navigate. Although the color and button scheme is quite modern, the overall travel on the dashboard is quite hard.

It is really awesome if you are managing freelancer, remote workers or contract employees. It brings such a transparency for the entrepreneur so everyone is in loop, client and employees.

Pros: I think the most valuable pro is to the person or company how you're working for, it gives you so much information about what the people is doing, the activity rates, etc. The time tracking is accuarated to the time you've been working. And it doesn't consume any of the PC resources at all.

You can have anywhere you are working, the phone, the PC. Even without having the app.

Cons: Casually I recently had a problem, my computer didn't updated to the summer so the hubstaff became a little crazy. The fact is that the customer support haven't help me at all, the reply the emails late, of telling my things like "you don't have access to internet". I think thats a way to improve the service, have better qualified people answering the customer issues. Other thing is that one day a person replys you and 4 hours later another completly different. that makes me think I'm dealing with bots.

Comments: This software has made it a million times easier to outsource work online, allowing me the freedom to find qualified people from outside my local area.

Pros: Accurately tracks time that someone works, providing screenshots and activity logs. They also offer logs of websites on while clocked in. It gives you security when outsourcing work to know that the time you are paying someone for is actually time worked. I have had instances where employees had been doing work for other customers while billing me for time and it has in turn allowed me to address issues immediately and saved money and time.

Cons: The activity tracker (where it tracks the % of productivity) is not accurate so it must be taken with a grain of salt. If you are not actively keystroking, it clocks the time as non-productive. Also, be careful when removing or adding employees as you may still be billed by hubstaff monthly for them.

I work on several grants and to ensure that this is tracked, I use Hubstaff to track my own time.

Pros: I can have different grants listed and when I work on those grants, all I have to do press a button to track my time. When I am doing my own personal admin, time can be tracked too. This has increased my awareness of how my own time is spent and also when I am neglecting some of the my projects.

Cons: I have not used this on the laboratory computer since it takes screenshots which may contain confidential information and am prohibited from letting that get out. I have talked to the customer services that and mentioned that I would like their function taken out and it is a huge security risk.

Overall: I can manage my own time better and can see over the course of the week, which are the projects that I am neglecting. This helps me plan my time for the coming week.

Pros: The time tracker is easy to use. I especially like that it detects idle time and prompts me to decide whether to delete it. This is a huge time-saver since it prevents me from having to figure out exactly when I walked away from the computer and forgot to stop the time.

Cons: As far as I can tell, there's no way to append the screenshots to an invoice or to send them as a separate file. I have not yet contacted customer support to find out if there's a way to do it, but that's such an obvious function for users to want that it should be easy to find and use. Also, there should be an easier, more intuitive way to access a project's data. I should be able to click "Projects," then click the project I'm interested in, and then have a little dashboard with links to timesheets, screenshots, and invoices for that project. Currently it only lists members assigned to that project and tracks where we are with the budget. This should really be a one-stop page for the project -- and consequently should probably be at or near the top of the left-hand sidebar menu.

Overall: Despite the somewhat aggravating issues with lack of intuitive controls and the inability to append screenshots to invoices, it has done its job of tracking time and helping me compile professional-looking invoices. However, after I finish my current project, I'm considering moving all my independent clients to my Upwork account since Upwork is now allowing us to bring our outside clients in at a 0% fee, which means I don't have to use an independent escrow service.

Here's what would keep me a loyal Hubstaff client:

- Make the controls more intuitive and user-friendly

- Give each project a one-stop dashboard where we can access all data related to it

- Perhaps find a reliable escrow service to partner with so that we can keep track of escrow and budget together in one place

Pros: - Great value for the money

- The integration with our task tool, Asana, works pretty well

- Ability to set internal and external rates per hour

- Daily task summary emails are helpful

- Time/Screen tracking has worked flawlessly--which is the core of the product.

- Timesheets can be reviewed

Cons: - Reporting is finicky. Has the basic options but not too granual

- The desktop (Windows) app is dated. It works, but doesn't look great. And the integration with Asana leaves much to be desired (tasks are not laid out properly)

- Inability to initiate the desktop client from the Asana web app. So, to start time on a task, you need to find it in Asana, then find the same one in the desktop app (which is difficult when you have multiple tasks using the same name), then click "Start"

- Asana integration does not update itself when projects are removed, renamed, or added.

Pros: Easy to use, very user friendly and accurate with time tracking.

Cons: When you integrate a project with Trello, you can't add new manual tasks. Sometimes the reports for activity are really aggressive giving the impression you are not working

Overall: We use Hubstaff daily with my team (8 freelancers) we keep track of time and tasks with it and it's integrated with Trello so we can directly assign those tasks on a single application and use it with Hubstaff without any issues. From the manager point of view it's a great tool to keep track of what's going on with your team and how time is spent. I would love having a the old dashboard where I could see the overall team's work. From the freelancer's point of view sometimes we spend lots of time reading or investigating and this affects the overall activity giving the impression that you are not working because there is low activity on the keyboard and mouse.

Pros: Hubstaff is one of the daily tools we used in our Startup. As techies, we need to be always connected, with other team members, colleagues, and clients. It's good to have this tool since our core office is in SF and all our developers are around the world!

Cons: I think there's a lot of space to grow in the design perspective. For example, I think the timer can be more friendly for the user in this case de developer and also it could have other functionality like see screenshots directly from the app without the necessity to open the web page.

Pros: It is very easy to use to track time -- I especially like the "idle feature" that gives you the option to keep or get rid of idle time. I like the ability to easily look over my week's time.

Cons: I wish that it were easier to see the number of hours worked in a particular span of time. It would be nice to be able to start the weekday on an arbitrary day. It would be nice to be able to add/edit time from the desktop app, or to have the desktop app synchronize more effectively with the website when time has been added or edited.

Overall: I can more easily track my work time, which is very nice as a graduate student with an unstructured workday.

Pros: Hubstaff is a great tool to manage your team of freelancers wherever they may be. It allows the team members to track their work progress. The screenshot and work progress tracking function allows the team manager to review how efficient and effective they are in doing their work. Their Payroll feature is awesome too in managing the salary payment of all the team members.

Cons: I believe they can add an instant messaging tool so everyone can message each other while using the time tracking tool.

Overall: Hubstaff is a great tool to manage your remote employees.

Pros: The fact that it is quick and easy to set up and add team members

Cons: It is often very tricky to get the reporting I need from the platform, in addition, it tracks per day so if an employee works late or at night then it makes it hard to track the hours.

I also find it very frustrating to upgrade/downgrade accordingly. I have had to do this a few times as our company has made internal changes and was forced to cancel subscrition then go through the process of purchasing again and wait for the Hubstaff team to make the neccesary changes on the back-end before my team could continue to use it.

Overall: Hubstaff has helped me keep track of my disctibuted workforce. We are based in Thailand and have employees scattered all over the world.

Pros: Allows me to keep tabs on my work in the office or on the road, and to quickly swap between projects when the phone rings. I really like the reports on cumulative hours and the ability to download the data and analyse it in excel. Most importantly the fact that it detects when I have walked away and asks me if I want to delete that time is brilliant. It also allows me to edit times later if I want to add some out of the office time.

Cons: I find the date selection fairly clunky and alsofind it difficult to remember where the particular reports are that I would like. Adding the ability to specify my own default date periods and reports would be good.

Overall: I recommend this software all the time. It makes it so easy for me to keep track of my work and plan invoicing.

Pros: I have experience with Hubstaff as a member, keeping track of my work, and as a manager, keeping track of other people's job. In both ends this tool have been very helpful. Takes a couple of tries to the hang of it, but not a big deal. Is a very helpful tool as it's beneficial for everyone, employers and employees.

Cons: When I was using it as an employee to keep track of my work, it bothered me that sometimes I forgot to start the time again. I wish there would be an easier and more visual way to make sure the time is running, something like notifications every onces in a while to let you know how much time you've been working.

Overall: It's beneficial for everyone! Keeps everything fair and transparent

Pros: *It is easy to use and install also has extensive documentation and support

* Although it has a very simple and intuitive interface, it is a very powerful tool with very complete reports that allows the individual or group follow-up of remote work teams.

*Thanks to the screen captures allows the real-time monitoring of each progress and evaluate how the work time of each person is actually used.

*The client software is very light and almost does not consume computer resources.

Cons: *It would be great that it would work offline and when recovering connection it will be synchronized with the server and not lose activity reports due to connection failures

Overall: Thanks to this tool saves time and money, by not having to send staff to different geographical areas to do work supervisions, simply review the online activity

Comments: We had started using Hubstaff in order to minimize wasted time spent by employees and improve our tracking on projects for budgeting. Problem = solved. :) In fact, we get additional data, like activity level, which helps a lot. In the end, we were very happy with our employees, and continue to be! For reference, we're a distributed team of 8 who build customized virtual solutions for our partners looking to grow their business online! One note: You may get some push back from employees to use this, but in my experience, those who dislike it have been dishonest. Most are completely fine with it!

Pros: The pros of the software are simple: you know what people are working on, and when! It makes your operation incredibly efficient. There are lots of integrations and the support is fantastic. One nice touch is the daily notification emails that are sent with time worked, and level of activity. We share these publicly with the team.

Cons: Overall it's a great app. The only cons are: - I wish the public API was more robust, so we could integrate Hubstaff further into other software. - The UI is a bit dated, so sometimes we have to do a few more steps than I think necessary.

Pros: Fully functional monitoring and time tracking of remote teams of workers at an affordable price.

The screen capture functionality works well, and there are plenty of customisation in order to balance out the privacy of the worker and the need to capture a desktop screen to ensure that the remote contractor is working.

The application also provides the ability to monitor application usage and URLs, it integrates nicely with JIRA.

It is far superior in my opinion to the tools provided by Upwork and Freelancer.com, moreover the interface is clean and intuitive.

Cons: Payroll; for automatic payments, your options are limited to Payoneer or to Bitwallet.

Traditional corporations tend to be a bit adverse to using tools such as these.

The support of Transferwise or Paypal would be helpful.

(NB: They do support these platforms for manual ad hoc payments).

Overall: Freelancer.com didn't provide sufficient oversight over contractors paid by time, so I made use of Hubstaff. Hubstaff showed me the pain points of the (apparently rather shy) contractor that I was able to help them overcome in order to make them more productive and make their role more enjoyable.

I like Hubstaff in general, it's good value for money

Pros: - Relatively easy to use

- Integrates with Trello that helps to evaluate performance of team members

- Affordable

- Very responsive support

Cons: - I can't set currency per team member. If somebody prefer to be paid in different current I need to perform manual calculation

- Can't modify time if project is linked with Trello

- I really don't like that my admin user counts against billing. For example subscription with 3 team members allow me to hire only 2 persons. I never use Hubstuff to track my time or make payments to myself. I believe subscription for 3 (and so on) team members should allow me to hire exactly 3 members.

- I didn't find the way to get a report that will show me how much time in was spent on each task in total.

Overall: I'm using Hubstaff for a while and it does the job for me.

Pros: We're a fully remote company, so Hubstaff has allowed us to have a system for accountability of working time. Also has made it much easier to work with independent contractors and for them to invoice us accurately and easily.

Cons: The time tracking originally was quite glitchy, with time being lost and tracking starting and stopping randomly. However, the release of the Hubstaff chrome extension has pretty much fully resolved any issues we've had.

Pros: Can be used to track staff training needs where staff are unproductive and it can also be used to recognise and reward staff who are over-delivering.

Cons: It needs to also track input from the microphone of the computer and talk time as an important metric.

I would like to be able to share the Hubtallent account with my Managers who can assist in collaborative recruitment.

Overall: Great, the team responds positively to my suggestions and acts on my feature development requests.

Pros: Hubstaff is an alternate solution to time tracking for freelancers that hired directly by their clients or hired via talent.hubstaff.com. I like it because it take screenshots and measures the workers level of performance. It's very realiable and the cost is very minimal. The monthly subscription fee is way low compared to paying fees on Upwork or Freelancer.

Cons: As of now, I don't find any least favorable feature of this tool.

We've had a very good experience using Hubstaff and will continue to use it for a while.

Pros: The ability to keep track of our team's hours since we work remotely most of the time. Also the ability to keep our work transparent for our clients.

Cons: Being unable to have a limit on how many hours we can punch in for a project. This would be very helpful since we have limits on certain projects.

Pros: It drives productivity among my team! It also sends reports each time for each user and also for each project daily. It's easy to pull up reports such as time spent, and productivity of each member to know whether or not they worked diligently or slacked off.

Cons: No webcam shots so it would really help if this is incorporated. With virtual workers, it helps to see the member who's in front of the computer, depending on the project on hand and the clientele who hires our team. At times, I encounter this request from our US-based clients.

Overall: Hubstaff drives productivity and this is what makes it best.

Pros: What I like the most about this software is the quick support from the staff and the speed of the program.

Cons: The biggest obstacle to working with this program is finance for me. Poland is still not on the same level of earnings as developed countries. I only allow myself for the premium version only when I really have to.

Overall:

In general, using software brings profits in the company. It is difficult to estimate in what percentage of profits in the urban studio, due to the authorial character of the work, but undoubtedly they are. I'm very pleased with this program. My employees were initially prejudiced, but after introducing the teal organization (Frederic Laloux. Reinventing Organisations: A Guide to Creating Organisations Inspired by the Next Stage of Human Consciousness. Nelson Parker.February 9, 2014) principles to our studio, they loved the hubstaff.

Pros: Hubstaff gives me peace of mind regarding my employees working activities. Whether they work hourly or fixed -price projects, I know that they are working on my projects, not someone else's or browsing Facebook.

Cons: The interface could use a lot of work to make it easier to get reports, delete snapshots etc. I find it's slow and it does not use AJAX, so it keeps refreshing the whole page when selecting options.

Overall: Using Hubstaff is a no-brainer to manage by the hour employees. It gives them privacy, as they can just stop the timer at any time, and gives both employer and employee peace of mind.

Pros: We use the Basecamp integration, which makes project setup very straightforward. It's easy to import our projects, add the right team members and generate reports.

Cons: It could use some UX improvements (e.g. which toggles are defaults, how summaries are shown) but once you get the hang of the software it's not a big deal.

Overall: It helps us maintain the budgets on our projects, and allows for more accurate billing to clients.

GPS Location feature isn't working reliably. Our consultants are angry.

Pros: Screenshots every 3 minutes and I would be able to continue to use your service IF GPS location worked reliably, but it does not. If your horrible customer service reps manage to contact me to fix it, we could stay with Hubstaff.

Cons: Hoodini only pays consultants that use the mobile location Hubstaff AND screenshot activity so when GPS isn't working properly our consultants do not get paid for their time. When its not functioning, they cannot work or make any money to pay their bills so you can imagine how angry they are so we are now looking for a reliable service.

Pros: Simple to use, cost effective and allows me to see what my staff is actually doing. No more paying for time on social media.

Cons: Not much I don't like. It could just be me, but it took me a while to get the hang of using it. I still am finding some things that seems a little foreign to me, but overall, it's great.

Overall: Being able to control my payroll expenses is huge. As a small company who is in a fast growth process, having a knowledge and control of staff performance is really important to long term survival. I've been able to keep my employees happier as well, because many of them have come to me from staffing services, who take a good portion of their salary as a fee. My employees are now keeping their money and know that they are also being paid for the work that they produce. Win-win for both sides!

Pros: The ability to manage my time is phenomenal. Super easy to track and view hours on projects, adjust time when necessary, and statistically track a plethora of information and make informed decisions based on this data. All under a refined, easy-to-use software package that isn't intrusive to my day-to-day operations.

Cons: I would love the ability to send reports on a schedule to someone. My secretary asks for my timesheet every Monday and I have to manually export the previous week to PDF and email. I'd love to just set this to auto run.

Overall: We use this to help estimate on future projects that are similar in scale and scope in a very difficult world of estimation (creative advertising).

Pros: it simple to use, the login process is easy with no ridiculous loading or something like that. the task although well oriented to make start work immediately.

Cons: ui of the program is too old they need to refresh the designs and make it more materialistic with keeping everything simple as that ( as we may found unnecessary flicking due to this updates).

Pros: Easy to use with enough flexibility to track time by project or by department. Mobile time tracking app works great and is very easy to use without much headache, but the biggest advantage was being able to track employees and contractors time and productivity. It easily helped my company find two employees that were not efficient at their job. Great Platform but lacks many need features.

Cons: Outside of time tracking, it really wasn't a capable platform. It seems to try to hard to be a project management platform, and it just doesn't work well in that capacity. I'd prefer better features for the same amount of money or decreased, simple features for a reduced cost.

Pros: I can track our employees across the world and accurately know what they did when. It is head and shoulders above any other tracker I used.

Cons: Managing more than 10 employees gets pricey on month to month and most smaller businesses can't handle that large of an annual charge.

Pros: One of the best features of this software is that you can see, at a glance, via screenshots what your staff is doing or not doing. What I also loved about the software was that it tracked URLs and APPs that your staff visits.

Cons: I don't remember if there was anything I didn't like about this software.

Overall: I enjoyed using Hubstaff because it set my mind at ease with having staff in another country. While I trusted my staff, I also believe in verifying and keeping them accountable and this software helped me do that with ease. I'd highly recommend this to any business !

Pros: I love hubstaff because it's very easy to use and it's a great way to keep up with your employees, you can add as many projects as you want and put each employee in a project. You can track time and see their screenshots as well as their activity levels. It's great for a start up or a remote team

Cons: The only thing I don't like about Hubstaff is the fact that you have to pay for a determined amount of members, you can't pay per person, you have to pay the plan. For example, If I have 30 employees and needed 1 more, I have to pay a plan for 40 people.

Overall: I can check everyone's work in one page. I don't have to worry about getting real time worked from the employees because I can see how much they worked from Hubstaff

Cons: Client for tracking could be more user-friendly. I mean UI. But it does its basic job, so it's enough.

Pros: It made managing my overseas team easier.

I was able to track hours and to make sure they were working on what they were supposed to be working on. Sometimes overseas employees will double book their time, work two jobs at once.

Pros: It is very easy to set up and easy to use., both for Admin and users.

Cons: Reporting is very limited. If hubstaff can run reports for 1099, that would be a great help.

Overall: Hubstaff helped us tremendously to manage our overseas contractors. We are happy with hubstaff because it is easy to set up, easy to learn and use it. It also helped in reducing the cost. The online support team is responsive and helpful.

We've been using Hubstaff for almost a year and it's our favorite time tracking tool.

Pros: The best feature is the ability to capture screenshots at specified intervals. It allows us to not only track if our workers are at their desk (on their computer) but also to ensure they are being productive.

They also have many integrations that really help automate some of the tedious tasks we hate doing such as reporting and invoice generation.

Cons: The only thing I don't like is the project management side of things. Every new project requires an admin to go in and add it to the list. We want it to sync up with our project management tool. There are several integrations that allow this, however, it still requires you to map it to hubstaff.

Pros: The dashboard has lots of options, I especially like the clear way it displays activity so you can see the hours you've worked with screenshots showing what you were doing at those times.

Cons: If you're working close to midnight, it sometimes jumps backwards 10 minutes so it says you've been working for 10 mins less than you have. A few of my colleagues have noticed this too. I think that's the only bug I've noticed though

Overall: It helps me keep track of my working hours and also shows me what I was doing at which times.

We've loved having Hubstaff as part of our daily workflow!

Pros: Being able to accurately track our employees and see where the time was spent. This helps us so much is setting new goals, removing tasks we found to not be as beneficial and implement new systems to get things done more efficiently.

Cons: I wish the mobile version was a little better. One of our employees works a lot on the phone and her hours are often harder to track more accurately. But truly, there isn't much to dislike! We've been more happy with this software than anything!

Pros: It allows the clients have peace in mind that their job is done by seeing the screenshots and activity.

Cons: The activity works very strict. If you don't click the keyword or the mouse for 2 minutes because you are talking on skype ( for work) , it counts as if you didn't work during this time.

Pros: Neat little pop up window type feature/app that just had the basic start/stop features. Easy to input manually when you've missed a punch.

Cons: Kinda felt a little weird having random snapshots of my screen taken at any time while the clock is running. Sometimes I'd forget to clock out for breaks, and it'd be taking snapshots of my personal stuff like Facebook and twitter since i worked from home on a personal computer. Otherwise, it's a fine program.

Overall: Easiest time clock I've ever had to use.

Pros: The ability to add manual time, task related entries, recording of screenshots if needed. We don't use the invoicing and payments part of the service.

Cons: Reporting is difficult to use and clunky. For example custom date ranges aren't supported on all reports, and when calculating team hours on a report for a project, you either have to have a detailed report without a tally of hours at the end, or a summary report which doesn't detail individual listings but does give a tally of hours.

Pros: I like that it has the ability to integrate with Asana so that I can track specific tasks. The screen capture feature is also nice for managing remote teams. Another feature that I found useful is the ability to assign different people to projects.

Cons: There is a slight learning curve. It is tricky at first to find the reports with the information that you need.

Overall: I searched and tried several different time and project tracking softwares, and Hubstaff was the one that had all of the features that I needed to track the productivity of myself and my team. I am very happy with Hubstaff and recommend it for anyone needing a time tracking solution, especially if you use Asana and are part of a team.

Pros: Quick start with minimal technical knowledge. This system gives users the ability to track and monitor staff effort without an intrusive, cumbersome interface. It's priced perfect!

Cons: The scroll bar on the side menu! The Payroll feature is not user friendly and does not offer enough options or for payment. The system doesn't permit enough tailoring of features (e.g. multiple budget utilization triggers).

Cons: There are some features that are missing - I would like to be able to add PTO to it for instance.

Pros: Easy to use and developing on a regular basis. Support responds in good time and always resolves my questions.

Cons: As an admin, I do not like paying for things I do not use. In the case of Hubstaff, we pay a fee for 10 seats. The model best created is slacks, they will credit you back what you are not using and charge you for what you are.

Overall: Tracking employees productivity and monitoring telework days to measure productivity and make sure working remotely produces equal or better work quality.

Pros: 1. Able to view screen shots of work being accomplished and able to ask my designer, before they even send it, to do a modification. It is like being right next to them, even though they are in another country!

2. Payroll is very easy process.

3. Can determine whether employee is working or pretending to work. Makes them accountable for their hours and work.

Cons: 1. Cost is a bit high and would like to see package pricing at a more reasonable price. For start up companies, like ourselves, every penny counts .

2. At times, screen shots do not work, but 98% of the time , that is not an issue.

Pros: Works well for tracking the hours and activities of various employees, while they're on the go. It's a great reporting tool, and it offers automated payroll; abeit at an additional cost.

Pros: Great way to track time and drop in on employees to make sure they are working on your projects. In reality, I almost never drop in because there is usually never an issue. It helps to keep them honest and avoid conflict, distrust, and innuendo.

Cons: Sometimes it takes a few clicks to get to where you want to be.

Overall: Very positive. It has been very helpful in getting people to adhere to company policy on clocking time. It's just a big stress reliever for both manager and employee.

Pros: The easy time tracking tool and the possibilities of generating reports. When I send my hours to my employer it is very easy to export a timesheet with an overview of my projects and hours.

Cons: Sometimes it is hard to find things on the website interface and is too detailed. I don't use all the functionalities of Hubstaff such as the invoices and schedules so it would be nice to be able to hide them.

Overall: Makes my life easier. Saves time.

Pros: I like the way its doing the job of monitoring the employees to be productive in work and this has stopped them doing personal work in the office. The screen shots every 5 mins is a cherry on the cake.

Cons: I feel the activity tracking should be improved when an employee is doing work apart from using the keyword or mouse. Sometimes they are on a video conference with the client or watching a training video.

Pros: I like that I have the flexibility to pay people the way that they would prefer and I can monitor their work and progress.

Cons: Setting up the payments is a little bit messy and if something goes wrong it is difficult to retroactively fix something.

Overall: I have a lot of contractors and it was difficult to monitor their work and ensure everyone was paid properly. I also had people that wanted to be paid via different methods. This made it a lot easier for me to keep everything in one place.

Pros: Hubstaff is a great tool for tracking remote workers. I can keep track of how much work they are doing, and get screen shots at random times to make sure they're not playing Candy Crush instead of working!

Cons: The activity tracker only tracks keystrokes, and sometimes a project is more mouse clicks, so it makes it look like the employee isn't working as hard as they really are.

Overall: A quick and easy way to track employee workflow and productivity.

Pros: I really like that we can view screenshots and also set pay rates for each individual employee. Also we have the ability to connect with asana project board too which keeps everything very organized.

Cons: So far the only thing that I thing could be improved is the reporting system of payment history as I would like to see which user was paid which amount. At the moment it just shows payment date and payment amount.

Pros: I used hubstaff for a while when we had our offsite team log in to keep track of their time. Overall it was an interesting software. It was easy to use and it was straight to the point. I would get daily emails showing the time tracked and the mobility etc.

Cons: The only thing I didn't like was the user error of forgetting to stop the time when walking away from the desk or at the end of the shift.

Hello! Thank you for your review. In regards to the issue about a user walking away from their desk at the end of the day and forgetting to stop tracking, we do offer Idle controls for this situation.

You are able to set the idle timeout for your Hubstaff organization (or for the individual member) at 5 minutes, 10 minutes, 15, minutes, or 20 minutes. With the "Keep Idle Time" feature, you can also set it so that each idle member will be prompted about whether the idle time was actual work time or just them accidentally leaving the timer on.

Pros: Great for tracking our off shore staff. We have also used this for contract work. Love being able to see the real time data of our staff and the screen shots of what they are up to.

Pros: My favorite thing is the option to do, "Screenshot blur." This way for people like my Executive Assistant, etc, I can protect my private documents from being seen by the Managing staff.

Pros: It is very easy to use, even those that are not so techie could be able to get around the software. The convenience of the deskto app when working on your computer, plus the mobile app that you can log in when you need to work remotely at times.

Cons: I hope you can have screenshots available with the mobile application soon as it would be a lot convenient where you can work when you are away, and if your laptop run out of battery when you left the charger or may have no access to any electricity or charging ports.

Cons: It took some time to organize the administrative area and the reporting areas. The calendar selection was a bit tricky and which reports provided the right information was tricky as well. But once you on-boarded with the software, it was super easy to use and continue to use.

Pros: Prior to using this software, my virtual team was tracking hours with their own timers. Although the majority of them gave me no issues, there were always a few I was suspicious about. Pros: I love how it has an app and my employees can jump in and out of things - create new tasks. I love that you integrated the task app and have been updating that.

Cons: Hate that you have to open up the dashboard to add assignees to tasks. Don't like the clutter of some of the reporting. I've had issues with integrating the task app and user problems.

Pros: The website dashboard is user-friendly, it is easy to use. The auto screenshot is also a great feature!

Cons: I am really having a problem with exporting/downloading the screenshots from the website to my local computer. The instruction on how to do it is for advanced users only. I am a web developer so I can follow the instruction but I don't think a regular internet marketer can follow it easily

Overall: No need to tell youir clients what projects or task that have done. I can just send the time report and screenshots

Pros: Easy to turn off and on for clocking in and out.

Cons: It's very glitchy and real time doesn't update fast enough. Also - doesn't allow for Overtime rules according to state law so I have to manually calculate OT every week. I have to make several corrections because of time being accidentally deleted.

Overall: We will not be using it anymore

Pros: I love the screen shots. Easy to install

Cons: I found that I could only link to a githup team account not my personal one for issue tracking. That meant I had to repeat myself to create tasks. Or I would have to spend more money with github just so I could link the issues. I have a private Github account and I'm already paying but not the team version.

Overall: Works well but It would be nice to link to other services to use the issues/tasks etc that you already use for your team. Very impressed with the rest though.

Convenient time tracking tool for all remote workers and employers.

Pros: - Intuitive reports and timesheets that help verify productivity/work done

- Highly accurate activity tracking

- Works great with JIRA

Cons: - Updates the time once a day (at least on JIRA)

- Sadly, it's impossible to group or otherwise manage tasks that belong to one project

Overall: It allows me to bill my clients accurately.

Pros: Very good pricing and pretty reliable... Love it!

Cons: I wish it was more flexible.

I've always wanted to be able to check activity reports with customized dates, unfortunately, it shows fixed weekly reports which don't help us with kind of work we are doing.

Overall: Thanks to Hubstaff, it brought stability to my freelance career

Pros: Super easy to use. Choose the project and hit "play". I also really appreciate that it detects when I'm not active for a while and automatically prompts me to remove any time, then either resume or stop timing.

Cons: Like all time trackers, I often forget to start it... and end up starting it later and adjusting manually. I'm not sure if there's a mobile app, but I definitely forget to start it in meetings.

Overall: Tracking my team's time to see if they match our biz priorities, own time for to see what tasks I'm spending the most time on, and tracking my time for consulting.

We do have a mobile app for both iOS and Android. https://app.hubstaff.com/download. If you are often forgetting to start your time tracker, you can set up a reminder to track for specific times! To do this, open your app's preferences menu and then set the reminder there.

Pros: Can track multiple projects and voluteer work and also track personal admin time with a click of a button.

Cons: Screenshots taken at random intervals compromise security and privacy and i do not who else can have access to them.

Pros: Being able to deploy it for remote team members. It was easy enough to use and explain. I like that users can leave notes on a task.

Cons: I would like to be able to apply multiple tasks. Making it easier to report the work that is complete.

Overall: Just the ease of tracking time. I'd like to see better reporting.

Pros: - timer tracker

- payroll

The ability to add manual time, task related entries, recording of screenshots if needed.

and a lot of good options!

Cons: Sometimes glitches. When I create a new project is not updating immediately with windows application.

Overall: It helps me to track time of different projects.

Pros: We use the screenshots a lot. It is very useful to see what is going on when remote staff is not responding. We use the weekly timesheets for payroll

Cons: I would like to be able to pull a weekly timesheet report. Would like to add users one at a time.

Overall: The software is very useful and a good value.
