Pros: I like the choice of having different subscription models and offers based on the business need. Also, the navigation and icon labels make the site easy to use and improves the users wayfinding.

Cons: The chat bot is too persistent and gets in the way of navigating until you manually have to close it. Also, Workfront is not on the list of integrations.

I use Hubstaff as a part time independent consultant and this is an easy way to track my timesheet

Pros: Easy to track my time, identifies idle time and suggests deletion of idle time, you can add manual time easily

Cons: Dashboard can be improved to make it easier to see total hours by month or by week without having to enter filter criteria as summing up a month

Overall: Free software for independent consultants who needs a simple but reliable tool to track their time worked

Pros: Works across multiple platforms--iPad, iPhone, Mac. I can easily work while traveling and at home using it.

Cons: A little tough to organize projects--a more intuitive way to organize different projects in the left hand bar would be good.

Overall: works very, very well for what I need!

Pros: User Interface is amazing, so easy to understand and manage. We used it for tracking down IT hours, so simple and working well.

Cons: Detailed features are not clearly explained in tips. I wish it had toolboxes or hovering tips for some details.

Pros: It works perfectly with minimum setup. The projects and activity grouping are also minimum, but sufficient for almost all my work.

Cons: It should have more control and reports on the desktop, without accessing the web dashboard. That way it will be more useful for personal users.

Pros: Its very complete with there features, and also have a software to control de time that is very practical.

Cons: It have so many features that you may no need and make the platform complicated. The navigation is not so intuitive and friendly.

Pros: Does exactly what I need it to. Helps me track my billable hours, exporting reports for clients is super easy, gives me just the amount of detail I need. The app is helpful for tracking hours on the go too.

Cons: Wish I could track hours without downloading software on a public or borrowed computer. Besides that, can't think of any negatives.

Pros: I love that it reminds me to track through the desktop app and how I can categorise what I'm doing by projects and tasks

Cons: The loading of the app can be a bit clunky. Also finding reports that actually tell me how much time I've spent on each task is hard

Pros: Easy to track time, reminders when I forgot to track, very useful reports in web-app (for my managers)

Cons: Nothing. Maybe, more breakthrough and modern design (web and Mac application), maybe useless Dashboard, I'm not using it

Pros: The HubTalent portal is a great alternative to Upwork. I have not tried the premium subscription yet, but the feature allowing time tracking the workers on hubtalent wuld be useful.

Cons: The lack of payroll tracking by month, not everything by week. The administrator view should be different than the user view. Make different levels of access.

Pros: As a business owner, it's great to ensure that staff is on task. For employees, it helps to stay focused especially when you're working virtually. I like that time can be tracked for different projects.

Cons: For people using Hubstaff for multiple projects or different organizations, it's not easy to track both. We're still trying to figure out how one person can be with different organizations. Also having to switch to different tasks is a bit challenging, that's more of a personal learning curve than a con for the actual program.

Great. It almost never lost my working time.

Pros: It is small, easy to use, can work offline and tracking my time accurately. Run smoothly on my laptop. Have a fully detailed dashboard to review my activities.

Cons: Screenshot and activity rating. I think mouse and keyboard activity it should not be considered a factor to measure activity rate. Sometime I just need to think, what should I do with my keyboard?

Overall: My income, my commitments to works.

Pros: Hubstaff is a great tool for tracking remote workers. I can keep track of how much work they are doing, and get screen shots at random times to make sure they're not playing Candy Crush instead of working!

Cons: The activity tracker only tracks keystrokes, and sometimes a project is more mouse clicks, so it makes it look like the employee isn't working as hard as they really are.

Overall: A quick and easy way to track employee workflow and productivity.

Pros: As a freelance marketer, the free version of Hubstaff is all that I need to track my work on client projects!

Cons: I would love to see a feature where we could create tasks directly within the Google Chrome extension.

Overall: free time tracking software

Pros: Neat little pop up window type feature/app that just had the basic start/stop features. Easy to input manually when you've missed a punch.

Cons: Kinda felt a little weird having random snapshots of my screen taken at any time while the clock is running. Sometimes I'd forget to clock out for breaks, and it'd be taking snapshots of my personal stuff like Facebook and twitter since i worked from home on a personal computer. Otherwise, it's a fine program.

Overall: Easiest time clock I've ever had to use.

Pros: What I like most about Hubstaff is it is easy to use and navigate. It is also available offline so even if I don't have internet connection, I am assured that the hours I've worked will be logged once my connection is back up. The Hubstaff timer also tracks the time I've spent working on a project or task. I'm also pretty amazed by the Hubstaff Talents, and I've used this platform to find freelance clients.

Cons: Sometimes, it can be difficult to know how the tracking system works. How does it identify idle time? If I'm just reading an article, would that be considered an idle time already? It also removes the idle time (which is not clear as to what is idle time) on some of the hours that I've worked. Other than that, it's a great software for freelancers!

Overall: I've tracked projects using Hubstaff. And my experience with them has been great so far! It's a pretty damn amazing tool for freelancers and clients hiring remote workers.

Pros: it simple to use, the login process is easy with no ridiculous loading or something like that. the task although well oriented to make start work immediately.

Cons: ui of the program is too old they need to refresh the designs and make it more materialistic with keeping everything simple as that ( as we may found unnecessary flicking due to this updates).

Overall: i use it to track my time record along the day, it help me keep productive and track which projects i am working on it right now and what i will work on it after that, that nice features helps me keep focus and productive.

My overall experience is good. I have worked from home and my boss used to check me via this .

Pros: time tracking is good. when a person is just sitting idle the software tracks it. It also gives the screenshot at random intervals which is good enough

Cons: on linux it hangs sometimes.
It keeps on counting time if we make our computer go to sleep or hibernate.

Overall: time tracking and watch the person whom we are paying to get our job done and keep him on the watch.

Hubstaff is good for tracking the hours spend on different tasks.

Pros: Yes i liked it because with hubstaff i manage my teams working hours and also the tasks. With hubstaff it is very easy to manage all the tasks.

Cons: Yeah actually it consumes lots of bandwidth to upload screenshots and there would be a option so that this would upload low quality screenshots.

Pros: You can do SO much with this software! There's so many things you can do that it's almost too much to comprehend!

Cons: It's overwhelming, I really had a hard time trying to figure out how I could use it for my business because it was just way too much going on.

Cons: Exported PDF reports could be formatted better.

Pros: Ease of use, not very limiting at first. Now its getting there, i.e. becoming annoying and limiting.

Cons: Ummm...It could become even better if you can stop spam projects in it. Like click baits and stupid and unethical SEO projects. The kind that wants overnight web success by SEO magic bullets. These clients not only waste their time but also the space. Not complaining...just a suggestion.

Pros: Hubstaff is one of the daily tools we used in our Startup. As techies, we need to be always connected, with other team members, colleagues, and clients. It's good to have this tool since our core office is in SF and all our developers are around the world!

Cons: I think there's a lot of space to grow in the design perspective. For example, I think the timer can be more friendly for the user in this case de developer and also it could have other functionality like see screenshots directly from the app without the necessity to open the web page.

Pros: The time tracking was fairly easy to use. It kept track of clients well, and allowed me to track different activities.

Cons: It just overall didn't suit my needs. The reports were kind of difficult to use. I ended up having to export my timesheets to Excel to reformat them before sending to clients. I switched to another program that just works better for my needs.

Overall: It fit my need at the time to keep track of my time for client work. When I grew beyond having a couple of clients, it just didn't work well anymore.

Pros: Everything was in one place. Conversations, files, etc. It was easy to keep track of what was going on and to go back historically to see what may have changed.

Cons: Like with any software, you have to get used to the platform because it's new. You have to use it regularly, otherwise, it's like learning any new tool.

Pros: PC client is very good, non intrusive, easy to switch tasks....very flexible client, It doesn't take much resources in the host machine

Pros: It allows the clients have peace in mind that their job is done by seeing the screenshots and activity.

Cons: The activity works very strict. If you don't click the keyword or the mouse for 2 minutes because you are talking on skype ( for work) , it counts as if you didn't work during this time.

Pros: I have some issue while I tried to export time data to a spreadsheet. The spreadsheet was incorrect.
Another Con of the Soft is lack of integration with other App- Asana.

Cons: Easy to understand UI; main features- screenshots; fast to start and work; easy time data analytics.

Overall: Timetrack for remote team

Screenshot capability may be a big draw for many. But to me, it ended up lacking in practicality

Pros: screenshot capturing, ability to have task tracking as part of a time tracking (timesheet and reports) software

Cons: no integrations in free plan, slow to update changes done on web app to desktop client (may take minutes), the user experience in using the desktop client and web app is quite "disconnect" - does not seem nery smooth going "back and forward"

Overall: Screenshot capturing seems the most attractive feature of the product. But the impractical and not very smooth operation of the desktop and web app clients, as well as a sub-par task functionality, and lack of good keyboard shortcuts (like Asana or GMail-shift-?), leaves me with not enough reasons to choose your software over competing solutions.

Pros: - Intuitive reports and timesheets that help verify productivity/work done
- Highly accurate activity tracking
- Works great with JIRA

Cons: - Updates the time once a day (at least on JIRA)
- Sadly, it's impossible to group or otherwise manage tasks that belong to one project

Pros: The hub staff website was very useful in tracking my hours for specific tasks. I was able to easily time what I did and then write a description for it.

Pros: The ability to manage my time is phenomenal. Super easy to track and view hours on projects, adjust time when necessary, and statistically track a plethora of information and make informed decisions based on this data. All under a refined, easy-to-use software package that isn't intrusive to my day-to-day operations.

Cons: I would love the ability to send reports on a schedule to someone. My secretary asks for my timesheet every Monday and I have to manually export the previous week to PDF and email. I'd love to just set this to auto run.

Overall: We use this to help estimate on future projects that are similar in scale and scope in a very difficult world of estimation (creative advertising).

Pros: Easy to keep projects organized. Since I work for an agency, it was easy to figure out how long projects take so we can charge accordingly.

Cons: Hubstaff slows my computer down too much to use it. I would love to try to continue to use it but it just doesn't make sense for my workflow. Possibly conflicts with Adobe?

Pros: The ability to track hours worked! I am able to see what hours were worked by them and pay them myself via PayPal. No hidden fees like upwork!

Cons: Nothing. I used all the free features and as it was it was perfect!

One thing though, it confused my overseas contractor when I sent payments. She was 12 hours ahead of me so she didn't realize her Monday's were on my Sunday payment.

Pros: I loved the app and desktop screenshots. Especially working with freelance designers - it a great way to monitor the team .

Cons: The desktop tracking app was clunky, inputting task was really difficult to do, limited options for payroll integrations - you used a service that is probably unfamiliar to most small-mid size companies. The difficulty in tracking and inputting task, and the clunky poorly designed desktop tracker was ultimately why I decided t to downgrade my account.

Overall: A clear overview of project budgets was a huge plus.

Pros: This software is an all around sofware that can enhance your productivity. Things will be in such a way that both you and your client will get benefit into.

Pros: The website dashboard is user-friendly, it is easy to use. The auto screenshot is also a great feature!

Cons: I am really having a problem with exporting/downloading the screenshots from the website to my local computer. The instruction on how to do it is for advanced users only. I am a web developer so I can follow the instruction but I don't think a regular internet marketer can follow it easily

Overall: No need to tell youir clients what projects or task that have done. I can just send the time report and screenshots

As being an iOS developer I use Hubstaff to track time spend on tasks.

Pros: I like this stuff because in can save screenshots, track opened urls in browser and opened programs while working. It is useful for customers who can check how are you working.

Cons: As one of the disadvantages I can remember that with free account you can work only on 1-2 projects with a watcher in a team if I remember that right.

Pros: Allows me to keep tabs on my work in the office or on the road, and to quickly swap between projects when the phone rings. I really like the reports on cumulative hours and the ability to download the data and analyse it in excel. Most importantly the fact that it detects when I have walked away and asks me if I want to delete that time is brilliant. It also allows me to edit times later if I want to add some out of the office time.

Cons: I find the date selection fairly clunky and alsofind it difficult to remember where the particular reports are that I would like. Adding the ability to specify my own default date periods and reports would be good.

Overall: I recommend this software all the time. It makes it so easy for me to keep track of my work and plan invoicing.

Pros: The easy time tracking tool and the possibilities of generating reports. When I send my hours to my employer it is very easy to export a timesheet with an overview of my projects and hours.

Cons: Sometimes it is hard to find things on the website interface and is too detailed. I don't use all the functionalities of Hubstaff such as the invoices and schedules so it would be nice to be able to hide them.

Overall: Makes my life easier. Saves time.

Pros: Easy to use, free in the basic version, but powerful.
My employee thinks he's being tracked (I don't track him honestly), and that's enough to generate a flowing productive work on his side.

Cons: I can't think of anything I don't like about it. I'd probably be back to the paid version at some point.

Pros: It's very versatile, allows you to track your work in many different ways.

Cons: I use hubstaff for myself - but I would never join a company that uses Hubstaff. It allows the manager to take screenshots of your computer without your knowledge - that is frightening & extremely invasive.
If your team uses Hubstaff, quit now - no matter how much they pay, it's not worth it.

Pros: I am able to show accountability with my boss and the hours I have worked. I also like that I can update times when I am away from computer.

Cons: I get paid every two weeks- so I would like a way to set up something that just automatically emails me every two weeks

Pros: It's great as an individual freelancer, but robust enouagh to grow into as business needs evolve and grow.

Cons: I found the timer function for logging hours a bit clunky in terms of having to setup projects and do some categorization before I could just track my time. Also, more ways to track time across specific date ranges and ways to filter times logged for specifics within a project would be great!

Pros: Easy to use. I found that the interfase in simple and straight forward for simple and daily things, although conplicated to use in several projects at the same time.

Pros: It is very easy to use to track time -- I especially like the "idle feature" that gives you the option to keep or get rid of idle time. I like the ability to easily look over my week's time.

Cons: I wish that it were easier to see the number of hours worked in a particular span of time. It would be nice to be able to start the weekday on an arbitrary day. It would be nice to be able to add/edit time from the desktop app, or to have the desktop app synchronize more effectively with the website when time has been added or edited.

Overall: I can more easily track my work time, which is very nice as a graduate student with an unstructured workday.

Pros: I like how easy it is to separate my projects and start/stop the clock. My favorite feature is that hubstaff can detect when I've been idle and accidentally left the timer running.

Cons: I work in tv animation and use this software only for myself. Therefore, it has a ton of features that I don't need, and sometimes I think another product might be better for me. My main wish for hubstaff is that there was an intuitive way to just click on a project and see the total hours spent on it. A kind staff member helped me out with this issue, but I'd still rather see an easy way to just click on the project name and receive the results!

Overall: I was able to form a more accurate picture for myself of how long it truly takes me to design a full episode, as well as my daily average, and it's helped me work towards my goals of being more productive.

Pros: Having the option to track time via a mobile app was very useful. We needed an easy way to track time from a variety of platforms depending on the project.

Cons: Can't track time on website, forced to download Desktop app. Our company ended up choosing Timecamp as our time management software provider.

Pros: This software is the perfect solution for a staff that is mostly telecommuting. With Hubstaff, we can make sure employees are getting their work done without us having to all be in the office micromanaging.

Pros: I liked how you could track multiple projects at once. I also really appreciated being able to use the app rather than logging into the website every time I needed to track my time.

Cons: I did not like having to explain "why" every time I had to edit an entry. Usually it was because I forgot to start the timer.

Pros: It was easy to use, was well designed. It had a desktop component which is very important for me in my workflows.

Cons: The crux of the problem for me was difficulty of tracking time and doing invoicing in one easily. The feature sets for both the invoicing and the time tracking were too minimal. I need to track time against tasks in Jira & Trello for two different clients and then invoice them separately for my time spent. Hubstaff didn't do this very well. I went with a combination of TimeDoctor and Zoho Invoicing which is a good solution and has a fair feature set on both time tracking and invoicing.

Comments: Good to track team work

Pros: Provides complete work-report and it is not always necessary to closely monitor the people working for you. Provide screen-shot and activity logs. Easy justification of work. Dash-board has lots of option, especially activity and hours logged.

Cons: Cannot work offline, as it only works online. No time for lazy work. Pausing software to take break, increases your work-hours.

Pros: The software is easy to use for my needs. It has all the features I require for my work and the price is right.

Cons: The hubstaff time reports are a little lacking in custom views. I can work with what is there but I'd prefer more control and variables.

Pros: It integrates with many other apps, which is great. We were especially excited about the Asana integration since that is what we use for task management. The screenshots feature is very useful!

Cons: It is not all that intuitive, which mean sometimes finding the right feature or knowing how to get something working properly can be a challenge

Pros: I can have different grants listed and when I work on those grants, all I have to do press a button to track my time. When I am doing my own personal admin, time can be tracked too. This has increased my awareness of how my own time is spent and also when I am neglecting some of the my projects.

Cons: I have not used this on the laboratory computer since it takes screenshots which may contain confidential information and am prohibited from letting that get out. I have talked to the customer services that and mentioned that I would like their function taken out and it is a huge security risk.

Overall: I can manage my own time better and can see over the course of the week, which are the projects that I am neglecting. This helps me plan my time for the coming week.

Pros: I like the ability to track what my team is spending time on, so I can work with them to prioritize. I have multiple people who work remotely, and it helps to keep track.

Cons: The program has some really cool features that are only available at higher prices, they are not worth the extra money, but I would pay a little more to get them.

Pros: Hubstaff is really simple to use and the fact that you can have screenshots and activity levels, that is very important when you have a remote business. Their customer support is always available and helpful when needed. I have no problem with this company at all. I would recommend this for any business because this will be easy to explain to all onboarding new employees.

Cons: The design can be improved and occasionally there can be errors/interruptions. This is probably because I didn't know how to fully use this service at first but now I have a better understanding.

Overall: It's been the easiest software to use compared to other competitors.

Pros: I love that it integrates with Basecamp! With so many projects going on there it's a great feature. Screenshots to see activity rates can come in helpful especially for new members to the team.

Cons: Nothing yet. I think there's some features that I'm not yet using as a group administrator but I enjoy the user features.

Pros: Easy to use on mac. Simple app, does not take too much RAM. Gives me a report of the time I spent each week. I like that it knows when I get off my computer.

Cons: Experience not the best on Windows. There's no nice dock that I can use to stop time. On both platforms, I have a task I want to do, but it keeps on logging it twice and I don't know why.

Overall: Track my time.

Pros: I like how easy it is to use this time recording software. It records my hours accurately and convinietly. I like how I can even record from my smart phone when I work from home.

Cons: One thing that kind of bugs me, but I know it's neccesary, (Not trying to step on anyones tows!:) is how often I need to update this program. But it's ok! Everything else is great!

The customer service has been exceptional. They have provided training and step by step assistance whenever I needed it.

Pros: Easy to track time on any device, even when I'm not connected to the internet. Monitoring features are available but can be turned off if it doesn't make sense to track someone.

Pros: Hubstaff is a great tool to track down your team and ensure that team is productive in-spite of working in distributed environment.

It is not always necessary to closely monitor the people working for you, however sometimes it is unavoidable. Hubstaff gives a great way to feel satisfied that team is working on the right task & that too with good productivity.

Way to capture screen shots & track down activities are good.

Best way is to customize how many screen captures you want, & what all needs to be tracked.

It is great to use this tool on various platforms & track all very well.

Cons: I liked the previous theme better, though new look is good too.
In desktop version, sometimes I feeling async in time tracking vs web version, but all in all it is good.

Pros: It allows you to screenshot and record your time on the computer without having to do it personally. The free version is useful but if you can invest a bit of budget in it, you get all the more features that you could possible need.

Cons: The tracking screenshot is distracting when it's being taken if you like to zoom out. The free-trial period does not allow you to keep all the information or to export/save it if you decide to downgrade to the unpaid version.

Overall: Being able to easily provide prove of my working hours with screenshots and reports taken by HubStaff.

Pros: The time tracking features is great. I discovered Hubstaff when looking for a time tracking application that is cross platform (Mac/Windows), automatically syncs time w/notes to Freshbooks. I was sold on Hubstaff when I discovered it has time tracking reminders, in case you have not tracked any time in x amount of minutes. This is great if you are prone to forgetting to start your timer.

Cons: Can not submit time tracked instantly (does so on an interval). The schedules feature is nice, however if I want to plan my day and schedule hourly, Hubstaff does not have this support.

Pros: Records working time fairly accurately. Easy to record, takes 2 mouse clicks. Can customize working projects (really neat feature). The hubstaff design logo is simple and looks Good.

Pros: Fully functional monitoring and time tracking of remote teams of workers at an affordable price.

The screen capture functionality works well, and there are plenty of customisation in order to balance out the privacy of the worker and the need to capture a desktop screen to ensure that the remote contractor is working.

The application also provides the ability to monitor application usage and URLs, it integrates nicely with JIRA.

It is far superior in my opinion to the tools provided by Upwork and Freelancer.com, moreover the interface is clean and intuitive.

Cons: Payroll; for automatic payments, your options are limited to Payoneer or to Bitwallet.

Traditional corporations tend to be a bit adverse to using tools such as these.

The support of Transferwise or Paypal would be helpful.

(NB: They do support these platforms for manual ad hoc payments).

Overall: Freelancer.com didn't provide sufficient oversight over contractors paid by time, so I made use of Hubstaff. Hubstaff showed me the pain points of the (apparently rather shy) contractor that I was able to help them overcome in order to make them more productive and make their role more enjoyable.

No more manual spreadsheets entering time sheets on Excel. Manages my remote team members progress.

Pros: I like that they offer a free 14 day trial. I like the tracker software that provides an online time sheet. Great timesaver that I don't have to use Excel. It is also private and I use it anywhere and anytime when I am traveling.

Cons: I don't like the price structuring. I think you should be charged per individual active users not by a group rate.

Pros: I think the most valuable pro is to the person or company how you're working for, it gives you so much information about what the people is doing, the activity rates, etc. The time tracking is accuarated to the time you've been working. And it doesn't consume any of the PC resources at all.
You can have anywhere you are working, the phone, the PC. Even without having the app.

Cons: Casually I recently had a problem, my computer didn't updated to the summer so the hubstaff became a little crazy. The fact is that the customer support haven't help me at all, the reply the emails late, of telling my things like "you don't have access to internet". I think thats a way to improve the service, have better qualified people answering the customer issues. Other thing is that one day a person replys you and 4 hours later another completly different. that makes me think I'm dealing with bots.

Pros: Getting real time, indisputable insight into the billable utilization rates of each team member, understanding utilization not just across team members but across clients and projects holistically, the awesome browser extension widget that makes switching between projects and adding quick task notes so easily!

Cons: So far the only thing that I'm getting a little hung up on is reassigning "idle time" when using the widget, and the pop up screen that populates when I've been idle for a period of time. I want to make sure that the team isn't just reassigning idle time to the most recent project/client they were working on prior to becoming idle so our data is accurate and not bloated.

Overall: Seamless connectivity with our new project management software, Teamwork, enhanced accountability of remote team workers' with the screenshot feature and easy time tracking across multiple projects using the browser extension.

Pros: The dashboard has lots of options, I especially like the clear way it displays activity so you can see the hours you've worked with screenshots showing what you were doing at those times.

Cons: If you're working close to midnight, it sometimes jumps backwards 10 minutes so it says you've been working for 10 mins less than you have. A few of my colleagues have noticed this too. I think that's the only bug I've noticed though

Overall: It helps me keep track of my working hours and also shows me what I was doing at which times.

* Although it has a very simple and intuitive interface, it is a very powerful tool with very complete reports that allows the individual or group follow-up of remote work teams.
