Pros

I really like how I can track my time spent on different task and has a very simple desktop app for it. Also like the emails every morning about productivity.

Cons

It does not take into account when I am on a call, particularly a video call which is on the system. It should be able to discern that and keep from going idle.

It is possible to set the idle time out to be longer, than the usual default value, so it minimises the risk of someone entering idle time when they are on a video call. So this may be something that you may want to utilise in the future, to prevent unwanted idle time being logged.

We are a completely remote company, and Hubstaff makes it possible to track our individual time spent on all projects, report on that time, send payments in some cases, and keep a detailed log of work that was completed on tasks.

Pros

I like the ability to track individual tasks and customize a dashboard on the homepage to show the metrics that are most useful to you, the individual user.

Cons

The sync with Confluence takes a while to upload tasks into the pop-out timer, and I feel that time is wasted waiting for the update on the timer to occur so I can start tracking time. I also think that the way the timing works per week should be based on the individual user's time zone, and not the company time zone.

### "Lightweight and trustworthy time tracker"

Pros

The time tracker app is very lightweight and works well on Windows and Linux. It tracks time very well and the hours get billed correctly. Overall it's a very trustworthy platform.

Cons

The Dashboard is a bit difficult to use and understand.

Hubstaff has helped me keep track of my disctibuted workforce. We are based in Thailand and have employees scattered all over the world.

Pros

The fact that it is quick and easy to set up and add team members

Cons

It is often very tricky to get the reporting I need from the platform, in addition, it tracks per day so if an employee works late or at night then it makes it hard to track the hours. I also find it very frustrating to upgrade/downgrade accordingly. I have had to do this a few times as our company has made internal changes and was forced to cancel subscrition then go through the process of purchasing again and wait for the Hubstaff team to make the neccesary changes on the back-end before my team could continue to use it.

Please note that Hubstaff does offer the functionality to have idle (inactive) time automatically removed from the platform, once the user is back from such a period of time. This, once enabled, ensures that the inactive time is removed without it ending up having to be billed towards your organisation and/or client(s).

### "Easy time tracking, complicated reports"

Pros

Simple to use for the person tracking their time. I like that you can set up multiple different projects to track where you spend your time.

Cons

As a tracker, you need to download the desktop app. I don't think they have a comparable browser app. In the admin console, the amount of reports you can generate is overwhelming. Hubstaff should try to recommend the most common reports and hide the ones involving a lot of customizations.

There are both a Google Chrome extension and a web browser time tracker, the latter of which is available on our website, when the user is logged in to their account. Overall, my experience has been very positive. I'm happy with Hubstaff and will continue to use it!

Pros

Hubstaff is worth every penny even just for the automatic payroll. My team members log their hours in Hubstaff and then every Monday, their pay is sent through Paypal. I used to have to do this manually, and now I don't have to do anything. It also makes it easier to see how much time each person is devoting to certain tasks, since you can create "projects" for people to log hours on. I love, love, love that Hubstaff takes screenshots of people's screens and measures the time they spend active while logging hours. It helps me ensure they're actually working when they say they are.

Cons

Hubstaff can be a little tricky to navigate. I usually have to go on a scavenger hunt when I'm looking for something specific. So, it's not always the most user-friendly solution.

The best thing which I like the most that we make send a lot of proposals/application to customers. And the other thing is that the buyers will also response to every application of your.

The site is less suitable for remote workers than it is for freelancers.

It has been a great time using hubstaff. We are being monitored efficiently as it has the feature of taking screenshots randomly to check what you are working on from time to time. It will also go idle at certain point when you are doing nothing. It makes every part of the team working and using their time more effectively at work.

Pros

What I love most about this software is its accuracy. You can really track your teammates work progress and see if they are really doing their jobs during their shift.

Cons

Nothing much really. I like everyhting about it since the first day we used it. Very convenient to use.

It's beneficial for everyone! Keeps everything fair and transparent

Pros

I have experience with Hubstaff as a member, keeping track of my work, and as a manager, keeping track of other people's job. In both ends this tool have been very helpful. Takes a couple of tries to the hang of it, but not a big deal. Is a very helpful tool as it's beneficial for everyone, employers and employees.

Cons

When I was using it as an employee to keep track of my work, it bothered me that sometimes I forgot to start the time again. I wish there would be an easier and more visual way to make sure the time is running, something like notifications every onces in a while to let you know how much time you've been working.

Pros

Time tracking which makes easy to see on what the time was spent. Had to write list of tasks completed for the client retroactively and it made easy to get 100% of tasks and time spent of them using screenshots.

Cons

No possibility to disable screenshots on inactive screen. No escrow service for developers.

### "Hubstaff allows you to go from reactive to proactive management"

Overall I've been quite happy with it and have yet to find a tool that is as useful for time tracking.

Pros

Most time tracking software doesn't give you the depth of data that Hubstaff does. They justify this by saying that "if you can trust your staff, no monitoring is necessary". The reality is that remote teams have a hard time staying on top of who is working on what and who needs help. PM tools only go so far, but seeing where staff are struggling in real time allows us to be pro-active about priorities and getting everyone the information they need to get the job done without having to wait for them to ask.

Cons

There are some minor issues, like no currency conversion on staff pay rates. This negates the value of a lot of the reports when running an international team. I often wish the integrations with PM and accounting tools went a bit further so that time data could be pushed to those to get reports outside of Hubstaff.

I recommend this software all the time. It makes it so easy for me to keep track of my work and plan invoicing.

Pros

Allows me to keep tabs on my work in the office or on the road, and to quickly swap between projects when the phone rings. I really like the reports on cumulative hours and the ability to download the data and analyse it in excel. Most importantly the fact that it detects when I have walked away and asks me if I want to delete that time is brilliant. It also allows me to edit times later if I want to add some out of the office time.

Cons

I find the date selection fairly clunky and alsofind it difficult to remember where the particular reports are that I would like. Adding the ability to specify my own default date periods and reports would be good.

### "Hubstaff is a great piece of mind for remote teams"

We had started using Hubstaff in order to minimize wasted time spent by employees and improve our tracking on projects for budgeting. Problem = solved. :) In fact, we get additional data, like activity level, which helps a lot. In the end, we were very happy with our employees, and continue to be! For reference, we're a distributed team of 8 who build customized virtual solutions for our partners looking to grow their business online! One note: You may get some push back from employees to use this, but in my experience, those who dislike it have been dishonest. Most are completely fine with it!

Pros

The pros of the software are simple: you know what people are working on, and when! It makes your operation incredibly efficient. There are lots of integrations and the support is fantastic. One nice touch is the daily notification emails that are sent with time worked, and level of activity. We share these publicly with the team.

Cons

Overall it's a great app. The only cons are: - I wish the public API was more robust, so we could integrate Hubstaff further into other software. - The UI is a bit dated, so sometimes we have to do a few more steps than I think necessary.

\- very happy with the subscription and would like to refer to other companies.

Pros

\- easy to use - setup is not difficult specially while onboarding new person in the team - client setup and reporting is great - different kind of reports are very helpful - there are payment integration software but bring more like i can transfer directly from my bank account.

Cons

\- need multiple hours so billing and paying hours could be in different currency. specially when paying country is different then developer's team country - time off (leave) period should be dynamic . like here we consider financial year so we didn't consider from Jan - Dec instead we consider April - March - lower activity: report should exclude time below any percentage. at the moment doing it manually and it is very tedious task.

Simple and intuitive to use.

Pros

Allows me to delete blocks of time where I left the tracker on by mistake. Stops tracking time if there's an interruption in the internet connection. Stops tracking time if computer is idle, A dashboard to check how I spent my time

Cons

Not sure if this is an organization setting but it does not allow me to customize time zone settings. Specifically, the clock resets at 0 When I pass midnight which makes it difficult for me reliable keep track of my total hours. Sometimes when I visit the dashboard website I get the message "You are using an outdated browser" even thought my browser is .

I am using this s/w more than 6 month and the overall experience is good. it is automatically deduct some time due to inactivity on PC/Laptop. it have very useful feature like invoicing, report and so on.

Pros

Hub staff capture 3 screen shot foe each 10 minute. Hub staff Dashboard display weekly activity , monthly activity and today activity so employee can see all the activity at one place. This all the thing make me more productive. So this thing is most like about this s/w.

Cons

Some time hub staff timer not showing prefect time that thing is I don't like.

### "Great for Hourly Based Work!"

Pros

It's one of the best activity tracker for hourly based work. Specially, when you're paying freelancers hourly and based on their activity you can see how much they have worked. It's not just great for writers, accountants, developers, its a great tool for every software based work that you would use on your computer. Simply, create different tasks and assign to your employee or freelancer, and monitor their activity on different softwares. Whether they were actually working or just browsing the web.

Cons

I think when it comes to creativity or analytical ability of a person, It can't tell how productive a person was for you. e.g. If I do an activity in 3 clicks using mouse and I could also do the same thing with simple keyboard shortcut. So how does it analyse which way was more efficient? this is where I feel the software lacks. If was a profile based analysis, it would have been great. Like for Designers, Developers, Writers the criteria should be different.

As a Manager of a Startup company, I must say that this is the best tool for team management. I don't have to ping my employees on which projects they are working, I just take a look at the dashboard of Hubstaff and that's it. I can share the details of the work with my clients and hence brings more transparency & trust to my business.

Pros

Hubstaff is so easy to operate and use. You don't have to be tech-savvy or geek to understand it. Screen Shot feature and activity log gives me the overall idea about the productivity of any team member. Reports at the end of the day are very help. ALso it is lite on your system and

The only thing I dislike about this software is the manual editing of time which is a bit tricky and annoying.
