A user just moving the mouse will be enough to have the time tracker be kept in an active state and not enter idle time. However, with the combination of screenshots, app and URL tracking, managers are able to get a much fuller picture about what is, and isn't, going on as someone is tracking time. It looks like they stick you on the best plan for the free trial to try an get you to renew on the best plan. A tad sneaky. I wanted a small tool that would sit in my tray that I could easily switch between projects. As a consultant, I need to track my time in a fairly accurate manner, not only for my customers, but for internal forecasting on how long services take to deliver. Hubstaff made that very easy with an app that sat in my tray, and was a simple click to start/stop time, or change projects on the fly. Pros I liked #1 that you fully support a LINUX client. So hard to find that support these days. I also liked the integrations with other platforms for pulling in projects and subprojects. We use LiquidPlanner for our project management, and Hubstaff made it so much easier to track my time. Cons I had a problem getting it to connect to multiple sources. I tried pulling from LiquidPlanner for project stuff, and Asana for task management, but could never quite get it working. I was working with tech support on it, when my company basically pulled the plug and went a different direction, so I never got to see the final solution. Pros I like how easy it is to separate my projects and start/stop the clock. My favorite feature is that hubstaff can detect when I've been idle and accidentally left the timer running. Cons I work in tv animation and use this software only for myself. Therefore, it has a ton of features that I don't need, and sometimes I think another product might be better for me. My main wish for hubstaff is that there was an intuitive way to just click on a project and see the total hours spent on it. A kind staff member helped me out with this issue, but I'd still rather see an easy way to just click on the project name and receive the results! Pros There are a lot of ways to view the tracked time information, and a lot of features on the back end to automate items. The away time and ability to leave the bar open are the greatest features. Cons Becuase of the auto tracking, sometimes a lot of minor adjustments need to be made to timesheets, and this makes for a lot of useless notes, so much that we don't really even follow them anymore. So anytime an adjustment is made, the note feature is just an annoying part that gets filled with jibberish.
