I have yet find a problem that I cannot get an answer to. And they take our feedback into consideration. We are out in the field working, and they work banker's hours. We were never able to get support or help when WE needed it. Pros Nothing. It was promise after promise of what this could do for our business, when in reality they can't even execute a simple macro. Cons The macro never worked and we were not able to transfer payroll to QuickBooks. We paid for the product for over 6 months and spent thousands of dollars. It never added any value to our business. The reports that are used weekly are easy to generate and clear and simple to read. The busybusy program has cut down on the amount of time that management uses to verify hours, especially compared to a manual punch timeclock Pros BusyBusy has been an instrumental way that we track the time students spend with their projects. BusyBusy has detailed reports that allow us to see quickly and easily the amount of time spent on a project and that they were at the correct location. Allowing us to set up a geolocation circle has helped us ensure that the time spent was spent where it was supposed to be. Cons I'd love it if there were a way for the version we use to send push notifications to users to remind them to clock in when they arrive at the geolocation we've set up and to clock out when they leave it. Other than that, we have had no issues with busybusy. Office Administrator Construction Used the software for: 2+ years ### "Easy answers to complex needs" April 4, 2023 5.0 With guys in construction it is great for them to clock in and out where ever they are. If they forget it is easy to fix. I get follow up calls now and then from busybusy to see if I am using what I need or if I need more access. Being able to choose which job they are at helps us code our workers comp class codes. Pros The ease of employees not needing training much for this app. It does so many things we don't use but would find valuable such as the gps and equipment used. Cons I do not have a complaint about busybusy. Reason for choosing BusyBusy We only have 3 employees and with no need for the full usage it is nice to have a free version. I have also worked for a company with 15 employees that did use the features so I am familiar with other aspects such as gps and reporting. Pros We use busybusy to complete payroll, target project management needs, and capture billable hours Cons We actually don't access all features we could in busybusy. For our small business it, we are finding our use appropriate and essential. So we actually don't know what we are missing. WE are having trouble with our management force buying in to the concept. They feel like we are tracking them. I really like that we are looking at the same thing. Cons I have not really learned any more about busybusy since we first started using it almost 2 years ago. I am not very tech savy, and so I have not done any self learning. I have reached out to my rep to go over new and interesting things but we just have not been able to connect. To be fair to busybusy, every day I log in, there is self learning updates right there at the top; I just have never looked at any of them because I don't know if it will apply to us or if it will even make sense to me. However, I have attended a few meetings that were actually sales pitches for timekeeping in excavation specifically. I was not remotely interested in any of them. Pros I love that busybusy offers a free, online time-tracking solution for my small company. Because of our small size, I don't need, nor do I have the budget for, a sophisticated HR platform. I used to have my employees fill out time sheets on paper. This required lots of coordination and caused headaches. Now my guys can clock in and clock out from anywhere and I can access their time records when I need it. Cons With the free version, my employees are unable to edit their time if they forget to clock in. I have to do that as the admin. I understand if we used a paid version, I would be able to give my guys access to edit their time. We might do that in the future. For now, it's not too much of a hassle for my guys to reach out to me when they need to make changes. They can't sign in until they on site. That was our original purpose in signing up for this app. We have found other good uses such as seeing where the truck is when needed, and for me personally, I can see which employees are on the job and where they are. Pros I like how intuitive the program is. I like that, as the administrator, I can set the rules in the settings. I love the QuickBooks integration. It imports directly into the "Enter Time" part of QuickBooks. I like the customer support. They are quick to respond. Cons There are aspects of the software that I would never have noticed except via customer support like being able to sort by last name instead of first name, and payroll mapping. If I don't have everything correct, it won't import that employee hours. Owner Used the software for: Less than 6 months ### "Looks great, but features are lacking." May 22, 2018 3.0 None unless you want to consider a giant headache a benefit. Pros The reporting is great, lacks a little but is still better than others out there. It's quicker than some others when having to adjust time as well. Cons 1\. Must refresh almost constantly because the software doesn't update like it should. 2. When changing time it must be done from reporting if doing more than one employee. When doing so, if I'm working on someone on the bottom of the list of employees, instead of remembering where I left off, it goes back to the top every time. 3. App doesn't work most of the time - if you're in a dead area, recording does no good as there's no wifi to connect the device and record the information. 4. Employees unable to change their time, even when the option is selected for them to do so. 5. When initial login happens, it NEVER remembers the password and an entire fiasco happens because of it. Not good when you have a lot of employees all doing this at the same time. It certainly takes a lot of time away from the person setting it all up. 6. No feature to make the signing of time sheets a requirement, only an option, and no one signs the time sheets because they're not required to. 7. GPS only takes a snapshot of the location where they initially clocked in. It doesn't record locations throughout the day. When accountability is a factor, it's key to get real-time, readable GPS. 8. More expensive than many others that promise less functionality. BusyBusy promises more functionality, therefore making it one of the top charging companies, but doesn't deliver anything near what you expect. We cancelled our subscription and went back to paper. The offline capability was critical and it was easy to adopt. We even use it to track when we're out of town at different job sites for per diem purposes. Pros It is easy to record hours and switch between different tasks, our employees picked up on it quickly (even users who struggle with technology), and reports help us understand and improve profitability. Having these numbers lets me know if there is a problem I need to search for and find. I can also do my yearly budget for the business better, as I'm able to track hours that need to be applied to overhead from year to year. Pros I love the report dashboard, which allows me to see everything about the labor in my company in one glance. If I need to drill down into any issues, the reports tab makes it easy. Cons I have turned on geo reporting and required my guys to send a report of their location when they clock in. I turned it off due to privacy concerns. BusyBusy was tracking them 24/7. Their location was recorded on the weekends, at night, etc., and it was invasive. The racking was a couple of years ago, so I don't know if it is still a problem. It has a functionality to support many types of employees (Feild workers, trucks/delivery drivers, office). As both a user and an administrator I can attest to the ease of use and its user friendly functionality Cons We as a company have used busy busy for many years and have used a few versions of this program as they have gone through updates over the years. In the last update there was a feature or two that I felt was lost when most reports were encapsulated in the "legacy reports" specific job perchance and job costing reports by specific project that I can no longer access.
