### "This is where I have my courses"

April 21, 2020

5.0

Anytime I have a problem their tech support is great. And I haven't had any tech problems with the platform - my students are happy and use it easily.

Pros

When I was researching all the different software for course hosting, I liked that this had a place to upload documents in the discussions. That might be really important for people teaching code or other products. Then I'm glad I choose this one because others take a % of income AND you have to wait longer for money.

Cons

The layout isn't as clean and modern as others - I'm hoping that will be updated at some point. It's a little ugly.

Alternatives considered

[Teachable](https://www.capterra.com/p/147019/Teachable/)

Reason for choosing Thinkific

Thinkific had the ability to upload docs in the discussion area of courses. And doesn't charge a transaction fee.

### "Thinkific: a clear choice for. someone wishing to focus on content"

November 26, 2025

5.0

An easy to use experience yet complex options and professional support these are what I get from think of definitely a good value for money

Pros

Before starting my online academy I looked at a number of options. I was looking for usability for someone who's never done programming for a webpage and the possibility to integrated it with live lessons. Thinkific did that and more: it made administration so much easier with the number of payment options available I also have very good experience with customer support they usually reply within hours

Cons

It's just my thing I guess but I really don't like that part of courses are called chapters and lessons are part of chapters could be confusing

### "Covers the basics"

October 10, 2025

3.0

Overall, it was a decent experience. Thinkific worked well when our needs were fairly simple — it’s reliable for basic course setup and delivery. But as things grew and we needed more advanced features and flexibility, it became clear that it wasn’t the right long-term fit for us.

Pros

It gets the job done if your needs are basic. It’s straightforward to use and handles core functions like organizing content, course creation and managing users, but it doesn’t go much beyond that - in my case.

Cons

As our needs evolved, Thinkific just couldn’t keep up. It’s fine for basic course delivery, but we eventually needed more flexibility and functionality than the platform could offer — which is why we decided to move on.

### "I love my Thinkific"

February 20, 2026

From start to finish with my course creation, it has been great for a person like me who is not very tech savvy! I Alison like the social hub set up for my cohort students!

Pros

Ease of course creation and adding downloadable PDFs. I also love the fact that thinkific has monthly payment options for my students!

Cons

Nothing really to be disappointed about with thinkific course creating abilities and lesson formation.

### "Truth For all"

December 13, 2025

There is a bit of reading and experimentation necessary. However it’s pretty intuitive to use once you have minimal editing skills.

Pros

One of the things I like is that I don’t have to know anything about coding for me to be able to make a website.

Cons

If I had to choose one it would be that the free option isn’t available. It gave me more options when creating courses.

### "Fun and Flexible Course Platform"

December 8, 2021

5.0

I found Thinkific to be very satisfying. I had everything I needed to launch a single course on the free plan (one free single course), but I was looking for a fully-integrate funnel solution, so I went with a competitor that had that feature. But this will be very good for most users.

Pros

It is very easy to get up and running with Thinkific. The course templates are a breeze to edit; users can easily see how to add and edit content, and the presentation is slick and professional.

Cons

Thinkific does not have an integrated email marketing feature, but users can connect MailChimp, et al., with Zapier. The design templates look okay until the user starts to change fonts and adds more content, then they start to look like a Wordpress template. Not bad, but not slick.

### "The Best Online Course Creator"

September 7, 2019

5.0

We started with an idea to help colleagues and turned it into a course. Thinkific allowed us to get our idea out of our heads and into reality, and a usable product people could buy & use.

Pros

Thinkific made it easy to create & host our digital course for financial advisors. With any platform there is a learning curve at the beginning. Thinkific's support team was always quick to reply and help us learn the ropes.

Cons

I don't really have any complaints. It would be nice if the WYSIWYG editor were as good as Apple Pages, and turned out prettier text layouts in the templates. But, it's good enough.

### "Thinkific Product Review"

September 23, 2025

4.0

I find Thinkific's products user-friendly, look great and are easy to manage. Functionality like the Resource Bank makes it so much easier to build out resources that the modules link out too, so it's great to see it all working in the one system.

Pros

The products are user-friendly and the team is really easy to work with and quickly respond to requests or concerns.

Cons

Currently, the only way to mark courses as complete is by submitting a spreadsheet upload and it is quite manual and time consuming, considering we do this quite a lot. You also can't duplicate learning paths, which is quite frustrating for us and requires a lot of manual copying out.

### "A Reliable and User-Friendly Platform for Online Learning"

September 23, 2025

5.0

My overall experience with Thinkific has been very positive. The platform is intuitive and reliable, making it easy to design, host, and deliver courses to a wide range of learners. I appreciated the flexibility it offered in structuring content, tracking learner progress, and integrating with other tools, which helped create a smooth learning experience. While there are areas that could benefit from more advanced customization and deeper analytics, I found Thinkific to be a strong, user-friendly solution that made online course delivery both accessible and effective.

Pros

What I liked most about Thinkific was its user-friendly interface and the way it allowed me to design and deliver courses without needing advanced technical skills. The platform gave me flexibility in structuring content, strong analytics to track learner progress, and reliable integrations that supported a smooth learning experience. I particularly appreciated how easy it was to customize the learner journey and maintain a professional brand look.

Cons

What I liked least about Thinkific was that, as with any growing company, there were times when priorities shifted quickly, which could make long-term planning a bit challenging. Still, I valued the open communication within teams, which helped us adapt and keep moving forward effectively.

### "Great Platform with Many Options"

December 18, 2025

4.0

I like the system overall and am pleased to use it. I like how it gives you different options of how to organize the programs depending on your needs. It's nice to have documents for download imbedded in the system.

Pros

It's great to be able to create your own course on the platform. There is a lot of flexibility to have quizzes, summaries, or even upload documents that can be downlaoded.

Cons

Tracking the progress can be a little tricky as if you don't click the continue button, it won't register that you did the video. Also, there are a few times the video would lag.

### "Good overall with critical limitations for teaching online live"

February 7, 2021

3.0

Good. They have excellent customer support and they responded to me quickly even during busy times. I actually recommended them for a company that has recorded videos and could benefit from using a modern LMS to share their recorded lessons.

Pros

I think I like the idea of the software. There are alternatives. I think I picked Thinkific first because they have clear description about their software, seemed reputable and seemed like they have good customer service and responsiveness. Their website is nicely responsive for different screen sizes. Although the theme itself is limited, and you are on your own to customize it, I felt that the drag and drop choices for the editor covered everything I need.

Cons

There were critical limitations that I felt decreased the value of the software for my business. The first thing that made me feel uncomfortable is that the website you build for your business through their LMS software would publish to the public immediately as you save the changes. I look thoroughly through the website theme settings, but there was no way to keep the website as "password protected" or "private" before it is published. As a result, I felt I should hold on about sharing important details until I write the entire content of the website, then drag and drop the content for the layout, and then put the content. After that first issue, I felt less excited. There were other limitations that resulted in me losing interest. I didn't feel like I want to pay to customize my website with HTML and CSS. importing your own website website was not a convenient option. My courses were live online but their website had no way of sharing the time on the website based on the user local or system time. I would have to pay for their Pro plan and do it myself with javascript. I could look up and learn how to do it, but I didn't want to. I felt like the software was good for only recorded content. The price they were asking for was not convincing anymore. Slowly and slowly I lost interest. Finally, I saw that they charge a flat fee for each student plus their monthly fee, for any student after the 100th student. I decided not to move forward with them.

### "Awful customer support, slow page load speed and terrible for SEO"

February 1, 2023

2.0

I got the plus plan so that I have a "dedicated rep" who is almost always out of the office. Whenever I contact customer support because of a problem, which is several times a day, they "can't duplicate the issue" so they don't have a solution. The page load speed fails every test. When I contacted them for support on this issue, they recommend I have the site redesigned by a professional who could help with page load speed. I hired one of their "experts" to redesign the site, and her design does not look or feel any better than mine and also did not help with the page load speed so I'm out $40k for no reason.

Pros

I like that it is easy to use, it's easy to upload your course material and publish your course.

Cons

My main issues with thinkific include very slow page load speed (which kills SEO rankings), dysfunction in the assignment feature (specifically, when clicking "next page" on the assignments, it takes you back to page 1 and you have to start all over), inability to edit a course landing page (my course has been published for 4 years and the URL is out in google so I don't want to recreate and for some reason we can no longer edit the page at all), and problems with user experience (students not being able to load a page, etc)

### "Empowering me to impact more entrepreneurs!"

March 18, 2021

5.0

Pros

Building the sales page was ridiculously simple. The templates kept the process streamlined and allowed for simple edits as needed. Love the opportunity to build my course with so many options for various types of learners and delivering content in different ways to keep students engaged.

Cons

In the course management page, I would love the ability to map out the various elements within each section, even if I don’t have the content ready to upload yet (ie, I want a video to go here and a worksheet to go there, but they aren’t complete yet)

### "Unfortunately a big disappointment and wasted investment"

February 19, 2025

1.0

Their sales team is great at what they do, but that actual service and platform are unfortunately not good.

Pros

Easy to get set up and upload a course. It offers a wide range of features.

Cons

The features aren't customizable and some don't even work. Also terrible customer service. There has been a bug in one of their core features for almost a full month now, and customer service only sends templated responses with no details about when it will be fixed. Many of their features also don't allow for any customization, and the dashboard is not very easy to navigate.

### "Thinkific works for me!"

April 8, 2019

5.0

No benefits realized yet as I just got my first course up and published. I have several courses written but finding the right software for me and my students was my Catch 22... never considered that would hold me back. I kept working on the courses... and finally, the solution was presented to me. I have tried so many different teaching platforms already and never actually published. Just wasn't confident in knowing the site well enough -- but in no time at all, I am published on Thinkific and so thrilled I made the leap. Finally! Pure FUN!

Pros

Thinkific is easy to use. Add a new Module, one click to add content, module after module. So easy! Better yet, I LIKE how it looks to the user. I LIKE how the site can look like mine -- not another platform. It does look different, but MY site name is on top, visible, so users know where they are immediately. I've tried others and never quite liked the look as I work with seniors who have retired... and wanted simplicity. This time I found just that. AND YET -- very functional, with every content option I'd like to add. Thinkific has a great Facebook group too. Very active and helpful, learned how others are doing their classes so gives me new ideas. Some groups were full of people whining about what the software didn't do or needed to be corrected... that didn't work for me either, yeah, picky picky! :)

Cons

I only had to ask Support one question while adding my first course. My only question was: how to add a manual student who paid me privately (or complimentary class) if they didn't purchase through Thinkific itself. I know its there, just chose to ask instead of searching! :) I didn't even use HELP pages to learn how to use it... it was pretty intuitive for me and I love that! Please don't think that means its not a fully integrated teaching service, it really is. They simply "got it" where the user (me, the instructor) and the other user (student) is concerned. Someone did the work to think about how both users will interact with the software. Kudos!

### "Customer Service Very Disappointing"

October 22, 2019

3.0

Very frustrating! Not a customer-friendly service. While they are friendly and say they hope you are having a nice day, they do not answer questions (or apparently read email chains). There is no support for European customers I fed this back to them when I first signed up around 2 years ago and nothing has changed. I have given them all of the feed back given here but they do not take any action. Waiting at least a day for an answer is totally unacceptable. What makes it even more frustrating is that, after waiting for a reply, they ask for information that was already included in your original email (and then you have to wait another day for a response). It just seems as though they work at their convenience, not the customer's. And yet they are happy to take the subscriptions when they are not providing an adequate service.

Pros

I was so excited to find this product and thought it would be ideal for my needs

Cons

The software is not user-friendly. I was hoping that it would be more straightforward and my staff have also commented that is it not user-friendly. There is nobody to call when you have a query and can only email. It takes them a day to get back to you. And we are based in the UK and with the time difference, we have to wait at least a day for an answer. What makes it even more frustrating is that, after waiting for a reply, they ask for information that was already included in your original email (and then you have to wait another day for a response). I sent a query on Monday asking how to do something and the reply said 'see instructions below' and there were no instructions there. In the same email, they asked me to confirm the email address (which I had emailed them on and they had clearly not tried this). I responded right away and just got an email asking how they could help me! (They clearly had not read the email chain). It is now 9pm at night on Tuesday and will be at least Wednesday afternoon with the time difference until I may get a reply and actually proceed.

I did set up a course and everything worked as it should. I didn't feel it looked the way I wanted and so looked at other software.

Cons

### "So Far So Good"

April 13, 2022

4.0

I was brought on board to help manage my client's Thinkific site. I did not have previous experience with Thinkific. So far, I've been satisfied with my overall experience.

Pros

I had no experience with Thinkific prior to jumping in to help my client with her account. However, I had some experience with other landing-page builders, and it was not too difficult to get the hang of using the Thinkific Site Builder. Also, I quickly found some YouTube videos that helped me out as well. My client already had a published Thinkific site. Thinkific has the option to create an offline copy so we can experiment with a new design and not worry about messing up the live site or causing disruptions for students. As a newbie, I was relieved not to have to worry about messing anything up. The Theme Library has a decent selection of templates - just enough to find a good starting point but not too many to be overwhelming. The sample landing pages are great inspiration as well. I love the "smart" blocks that pull content from elsewhere in your account. For example, the instructor's bio or course curriculum or student reviews.

Cons

I encountered a few limitations: - The Site Builder includes about a dozen or so recognized fonts, but I did not see a way to add custom fonts. Maybe this is comes with a higher plan. - For the instructor's bio, I didn't like the default design of the "Instructors" block, so I just used a "Text & Media" block. That would have seemed fine, except the text and photo are too close together. I couldn't see a way to increase the space. - You can get a pretty good preview of the page using Fullscreen mode inside the Site Builder - but the links and buttons are not clickable. I didn't find a way to preview the course landing page with live links/buttons so I can make sure they are working properly. If I'm working with an offline copy, I would like to be able to check links and buttons BEFORE publishing and overriding our existing live page.

### "Thinkific is everything you need to publish online courses. There are different levels , even FREE!"

November 9, 2017

5.0

It allows a person to publish an online course and customize everything, including the price you sell it for. Thinkific has everything you need to be successful. AND they offer lots of webinars and training as you need! I look forward to using it more as I grow my online publishing business!

Pros

I like that it is customizable. I like that Thinkific offers lots of webinars and help with all aspects of publishing online courses. It allows a couple ways to collect money for your courses. They spell out exactly what to do! For a newbie like me, I began setting things up months ago while I was working on my course. As I completed it, I began uploading the lectures and made some changes to my text and landing page and other info. Easy to make it your own. I am happy with how professional it all looks. Now I will get busy with the marketing end and Thinkific can help with info about that too! Customer service is awesome and they reach out frequently to see what they can do to guide you! I highly recommend this solution for getting an online course published. I am at the entry level, but am testing the waters until I need to go further and unlock more features.

Cons

As expected the free version is basic, so in order to get to some of the good stuff, you have to upgrade. Not a big deal really, since I am producing my first course and need to go slowly.

### "Project your career by making your courses known on the net"

April 23, 2018

4.0

An excellent way to place and sell your courses on the net, making you gain prestige in the online educational area.

Pros

A very easy to use application that projects your career as an instructor and educator, you can sell the courses to students or companies, allowing you to take better advantage as it allows you to enlarge your professional profile, showing the courses you have done and who and how many have seen, making you notice in the professional area, it is quite complete and easy to use, with an attractive cost for the market.

Cons

I think they should improve a little the visual and design area, to make it more pleasing to the eye, allowing you to customize more each course and let your imagination fly to catch a larger audience, doing this would improve even more this excellent application.

I tried and tried to get online help but it's hidden behind chat bots. If you do manage to get someone on the phone, you only get 15 minutes and they kick you off and you have to rebook more time! This could be the following day. So you can't get a cohesive amount of time to actually learn how to use the product. Only software experts or those willing to invest full time in figuring out this nuanced offering should bother. It is NOT easy to use as advertised. Far from it.

Pros

No pros. Incredibly difficult to use and impossible to get human help.

Cons

This product is incredibly difficult to use. You don't realize it until you've already signed up and they won't process your refund. AVOID unless you want to devote full-time effort to figuring this coursework out. It's also very hard to reach a human being to get assistance.
