Pros We searched long for an LMS to use for our online training venture and after testing some of them we came to the conclusion that there is nothing on the market that can compare with TalentLMS with the wide functionality offered at a very economical price. Since we develop our training modules in a 3rd party application we were very happy to see that after importing it into TalentLMS with SCORM the training modules looked exactly as we created them (after applying some functionality offered by TalentLMS). Then we had the further advantage of adding modules and tests with TalentLMS which were noy really available with the 3rd party software. Cons There was a little confusion between the administrator/lecturer screens and the one that the students would see. But this was sorted out quickly. The system is very easy to use with minimum training required. Cons There are some limitations such as there is no option for learners to upload a document within a discussion board for other learners to view it. This could be possible through a different element if not a discussion board. It helps for learners to compare their work, and I haven't found any way to do that within this LMS. I was worried about not having a fixed representative who I could always call, but Talent has their system down. I email them and they reply usually within hours with an answer. We are an equipment manufacturer and have different needs than colleges. The features included standard with TalentLMS meets our unique needs. It´s very good that you can change the subscription so easy (monthly). When we don´t have a course going on, we change subscription to the free level in that way we can keep our courses that we have made. Pros It\`s easy to put up a Quiz with different types of questions. For exampel 5 questions with Multipel choice and then 1 question with Fil the gap and so on. You can vary the types of questions in a easy way. Cons I got help to set up and get started. It was a little bit difficult to edit the course in the beginning. It wasn't that intuitive. But once you have done it it´s easy. In fact, we even used another LMS system for over a year while our course content was being developed. Just before 'going live' with a learning system for our customers, I discovered Talent LMS, and we made the switch. I'm very glad we did. Certain functionality that was important to us either wasn't in other systems or required complicated setup. For example, with Talent, a user can browse the course catalog and see each course's outline (list of training modules) before purchasing. Also, we can easily assign users to courses OR courses to users; we aren't forced to do it one way or the other. It's also very simple to copy a training module from one course to another. Notifications (e-mail alerts), certificates, quizzing, and customizing the interface for branding purposes are all very easy to accomplish without much training or digging through documentation. I like their support site, too. You can make a suggestion for a future enhancement or vote on other users' suggestions. Other LMS systems definitely have more powerful features if you need to create complex reports, branch course content, or comply with complicated certification rules. However, Talent's strength (for us, anyway) is the fact that it makes the common tasks we do over and over again ' adding videos, organizing modules within a course, and assigning users ' extremely simple and fast. You can track the progress of your Learners. You have the ability to use different types of content (video, audio, presentations...) which is a great + in the learning process. Cons I wish the platform might improve by making the page expire after 15-20 min of inactivity, so the time you are not using the page is not tracked as learning time. Currently, it expires after 3 hours of inactivity. For smaller organisations, I would recommend a Moodle-based LMS simply because of the available documentation and help. Pros I trialled TalentLMS for a little while for a project. I liked that it comes with a lot of pre-configured settings which makes getting started really straightforward. A good set of features including the built-in course builder. Cons Not an open-source platform - I ended up going with a different Moodle-based LMS instead. Also, a bit on the pricier side for me.
