Cons

It takes a little while to figure out how it works but they provide materials to help with learning and using the software.

We had been using FareHarbor and CheckFront a couple years ago, but were no longer actively using it, got back into renting and they would not give us a new account with them, so we had to look elsewhere and glad we did! Because BRM offers much more targeted features more suited to our needs.

Dealing with BRM is great. Technically, it could use a bit more customization for a rental business like ours. Overall, it's a good product and serves it's purpose well.

Pros

Customer service is fantastic. Very quick to respond, understands my questions better than I do, and always has an answer (albeit not always a solution) that makes sense and allows for understanding between my team and BRM. Keep up the great communication as you work towards building out your feature set.

Cons

Feature sets didn't match up extremely well with our business initiatives. However, we were still able to get the job done with what is currently offered.

### "Very good software, essential to our business"

I spent a great deal of time researching POS/Asset allocation systems and came accross BRM a few years ago. \[SENSITIVE CONTENT HIDDEN\] sorted us out and we have used it ever since. It seems to have grown much larger which is great too see. Great for small firm and larger fleets. We have 50-100 bikes dependent on season and works well, they have scope for larger fleets 1000+ too I understand.

Pros

So much customization and features available, we use only a small amount of the functionality. Online Booking, Digital Waivers, Mechanics records, Rental Bike Allocation- its all there. It is integral to how our systems operate and we love it. We can accurately see how many rental bikes we have available, or hired out (and to who). Reports with statistics great too- as well as customers signing in on Tablets. We have recently moved our Online Booking to Bike Rental Manager (was with Rezdy before) but have made it work with BRM and it is great, can highly recommend. We also link it with Lightspeed POS system which is helpful.

Cons

Not a huge amount. New features sometimes take a bit of getting used to for the staff, but it is all there to make the system better so we lean to roll with it (and of course it is actually better than the older version)

In late 2016/early 2017 there werent a huge amount of options similar to Bike Rental Manger Available so we took a trial on BRM and have stayed with it since.

Used Bike Rental Manager for our asset allocations and Rezdy for our online booking due to network of suppliers we could reach. After COVID lockdowns and streamlining costs, we decided to integrate our online booking all to BRM. Took a bit of time setting up the online booking wizard but happy we have done as it all works relatively seamlessly.

### "Super helpful for our bike reservations"

Customer service is very responsive and helpful. The system also has a lot of step-by-step explanations and tutorials for common issues and questions.

Pros

BRM has been really helpful at helping me manage last minute bike reservations, which used to be the most stressful part of my job. Now setting up reservations and charging people is quick and easy.

Cons

I wish there were more flexibility for complicated reservations, like if a person switches bikes partway through a rental I actually have to create two separate reservations for each set of dates, and that gets tricky if the person is part of a family with other bikes in the reservation. Sometimes BRM can't accommodate weird but common situations like that.

Bike Rental Manager was most able to work with our current way of doing things to help us integrate a new system. Staff were knowledgable and helped us customize the set up. At PeekPro and Fareharbor the salespeople made promises about customizing software to meet our needs, but when it came to implementation we were bumped over to new people who hadn't been part of those initial conversations and could not deliver on what the salesperson had promised. At BRM it seems to be a smaller team and my communications with their staff have been consistently with several people that I now know and count on. I don't feel like I'm getting bumped around from person to person. We feel heard and valued.

Jeremy is great, he is a lot of help and super quick to fix any issues.

Cons

Reporting features could definitely have more data, and the reservations page could use some help to make sure times update correctly.

Pros

This software is easy to use on it's own.However, all of the 4 main software/ products we use have their own individual "logic process line and terminology" which doesn't always cross over which can be frustrating for new users.

Cons

Bit slow at times when using - although not sure if this is our connection etc

Overall my experience has been excellent, \[SENSITIVE CONTENT\] has either helped where required or directed me to the appropriate person or link. Any tickets raised have been resolved in very good time.

Pros

The accurate usage data was lacking before, we can accurately price bikes at the end of their use on our fleet. Maintenance records mean no more paper or excel! A massive reduction in man hours. Online booking has transformed our hire business.

Cons

For want of a better way of saying it, a grasp of tech makes the setup easier. All covered in help topics and with support. Its easy to get going and navigate but if you are capable with tech and back office of various software you would be much quicker. Nothing off putting but an honest reflection from someone that's about a 6/10 on the tech capability.

I'm happy with the increase in capabilities and potential of BRM for River Riders. Based on this I'm confident we can continue to grow our rental operation with BRM.

Pros

BRM to Stripe to XERO(accounting software) integration made book keeping much more efficient and online payments increased. When given the option to complete a booking form or express booking via BRM the majority of customers choose to use BRM

Cons

Training staff how to make manual bookings and use brm. Setting up bike servicing processes. Glitches with loading the app. Limited functionality on mobile device.

Very happy with the program and beyond impressed with the customer service. I'd especially like to say that I hope the CS agents are paid generously for the work they do. They are the reason I am sold on this service. Without them, I'd shop around more. Program is great, but a work in progress, as all computer programs are. Having excellent CS is what keeps customers.

Pros

We could not function as effectively as we are without it. BRM manages our rental fleet very well, and gives me a ton of tools to manage the bikes.

Cons

I would like to see a feature to record bike services for customer bikes, not just our rental fleet maintenance records.

Brm allows us to offer customers smooth and easy experience doing their online booking, as well as a quick in store booking interface. The most critical ux facing the customer has minimal obstacles.

Pros

Smooth work flow after using the software for a while. Web interface and user experience on the front end is great, and it does a lot of work you wouldn't think of for you. Support is amazing too.

Cons

Searching for settings or features can be a bit tricky, the ux is constantly improving but still has some ways to go.

The overall experience is excellent. It makes my life easier. Our business is very small for now, but we hope it will grow and feel BRM will be a key tool enabling that growth. When we started last year we sought the best possible solution to start our rental business on solid IT foundations. BRM has proved to be the right choice.

Pros

It integrates bookings, inventory management and reporting in a way that is suited to our business. It is easy to use and reliable. Customer support is reliable too. They are also striving to improve and add features continuously.

Cons

I would very much like them to have a mobile app from which to control the backend of my business.

Very good and helpful

Pros

They put a lot of thought in it and it’s highly customizable to your needs. New features are implemented every year

Cons

It’s hard to get into. Might be solved due to version 2.0. Some system issues occasionally cause problems. 99.9% of the time it works perfectly fine but these 0.01 are still an issue sometimes. (Caused double booking recently - but we are optimistic that these problems will be solved in the future)

It is very customizable, and the learning curve was fairly simple.

Cons

No real con's... In my business I do not use the software to its full potential. In that, I think sometimes I miss some of the ways to make shortcuts or 100% understand the workings of the software.

It was really a tool to get online booking live for us. Havent used a lot of the other functionality yet but that will come in time. Overall its been very good for a small business and looks to have good potential as we grow.

Pros

Pretty easy to set up and use "out of the box" - I didn't want to have to become a software developer and BRM was pretty easy to implement for someone who isnt an IT person.

Cons

Processing payments is a bit confusing. For a smaller fleet, I had to use workarounds to manage our inventory as i wanted to. Reservations view isnt really compatible with a laptop screen.

We sampled, tested and immersed ourselves in all systems we could find for bike rental. BRM was the obvious choice and on the occasions we needed assistance - the online help facility and personal help was exceptional! It is set up in a way that makes it very intuitive to use.

Cons

Only because my business is different to other bike hire businesses, it would be good to have inventory management capabilities that deal with the complexities of the different services my company offers. Therefore meaning the meta model in place enables both bicycles and bicycle accessories to have a one-to-many relationship to the various service packages offered.

The trial makes it very easy to set up the service and the BRM team are very proactive with getting in touch to see if there is anything they can do to help.

We're a small shop but do a big rental business. We really needed a comprehensive system that was within our price range, and BRM was the answer. We've been using it for a year now and it has improved our efficiency greatly, plus the Online Booking Wizard has reduced our workload tremendously. I was going to give only 4 stars for ease of use, but I have to say that simplicity hinders flexibility; something this powerful will take a bit of time to master, yet my staff was using the system successfully within 1-2 days. And the customer support deserves 6 stars, so my review would average out to 5 stars anyway. Make that 6-1/2 because value deserves 6 stars as well. My compliments to Doug and his team, despite the difference in time zones, we always get quick answers to our questions, and their on-line Knowledge Base is very comprehensive as well.

Cons

It would be nice if there were all menu items in German. Then the incorporation of employees would be a little faster. But you can not have everything ;-) We are happy so far!
