It started rough and ended genuinely well. An early re-engagement campaign to a list I hadn't validated properly produced a high bounce rate and got my account suspended — entirely a mistake on my side. What impressed me was how Brevo handled it: instead of a wall, I got a clear, patient, human review that treated the situation as a chance to fix the root cause. I rebuilt my subscription process (double opt-in, CAPTCHA, separate consent and privacy checkboxes), cleaned my list, and adopted a proper warm-up discipline. Today I have a compliant, healthier setup and a much better grasp of deliverability — and I'm building my whole owned-channel strategy (email, WhatsApp, automations) on Brevo. For anyone serious about owning their audience rather than renting it, the combination of tooling, fair pricing and human support makes Brevo easy to recommend. Just respect list hygiene from day one — they will.

Pros

Two things stand out. First, the breadth on one platform: email, SMS and WhatsApp, with a genuinely usable API and a data model flexible enough to run a real first-party CRM — custom attributes, segmentation, automations, native double opt-in forms with CAPTCHA, an authenticated sending domain, and a doubleOptinConfirmation endpoint that let me wire my own website forms straight into a compliant subscription flow. The free tier is generous enough to build all of this before paying a cent. Second, and most of all, the human support. When my account was flagged, the specialist who handled my case (Danilo) was clear, fair, and — crucially — educational rather than punitive. He told me exactly what to fix, pointed me to the right guides, and reviewed my implementation quickly. I came out of it with a healthier setup and a real understanding of deliverability. That kind of support is rare.

Cons

The account-protection process, while ultimately fair, is abrupt for a first-time sender. Because Brevo runs on shared IPs, a single early campaign to a poorly-validated list can trigger a suspension fast. I'd have loved a clearer warning before sending to a high-risk list, and the self-service reactivation flow was confusing at first — it took a human to clarify what was actually needed. There are also a few API gaps for developer-driven setups: sign-up forms and segments can only be created in the UI (not via API), category-type attributes return numeric IDs (so you need a lookup to read them), and list subscriber counts can lag behind reality. None are dealbreakers, but they add friction when you're automating.

L'API HTTP et le relais SMTP sont simples à intégrer, la délivrabilité est bonne au jour le jour, et les statistiques par email (ouvertures, clics, bounces) sont précises et faciles à exploiter pour suivre nos envois transactionnels (factures, relances automatiques).

Cons

Nous avons connu un blocage temporaire et sans préavis de notre compte, ce qui nous a obligés à réagir en urgence. Le support a fini par résoudre le problème rapidement une fois le ticket pris en charge

My experience with Brevo is okay. More of the bugs have been fixed, but the reliability of the infrastructure is still too low.

Pros

It's very simple to set up transactional email and to get an overview of emails being sent, open stats, and so on. It's also good that you can see bounce statistics. The reliability has gone up a little bit in the last year.

Cons

The reliability is still too low. There are too many outages. If Brevo would become more reliable, we wouldn't have to have a backup provider.

Pros

The Brevo service has been great so far, and customer support was top notch when called upon. The user interface is easy to navigate and there's just the right amount of tools, even in the free plan.

Cons

The only issue we had was a temporary pause on service due to an automated spot check, which was cleared quickly after a manual check. However, we didn't see a notification about the pause, which was a little frustrating.

Overall, I'm very satisfied. Brevo offers a solid platform for transactional emails, automation, newsletters, and business communication. I'm looking forward to using more of its features as my company grows.

Pros

I recently started using Brevo for my company, INNOPAVE TECHNOLOGIES, to handle transactional emails and future marketing campaigns. The interface is clean, email routing and SMTP configuration are straightforward, and the documentation is comprehensive. One thing that impressed me most was the support team. My account was temporarily suspended because my contact form was being targeted by bots. Mr. Jonathan (Brevo) Reached out to me in no time detailing just what I needed to do. After I secured my website with Cloudflare Turnstile and contacted support, they manually reviewed and restored my account quickly. I also really appreciate that Brevo offers a generous free plan for startups and small businesses. Great company, great team.

Cons

As a first-time user, the initial SMTP configuration and account verification process was a little confusing. The automatic suspension happened before I fully understood the requirements for protecting web forms, my recommendation is that, clearer onboarding guidance for new users would make the experience much smoother.
