This service is offered to the consumer free. Cons The other portals zenfits offer are not really price effective. I use Zoho for people tracking which is much better priced. Offer letter generation, custom fields for user specific information that needs stored, custom reports, Club Zen, the HR library and much much more! Anytime I've needed assistance customer service has been prompt and helpful. There are also tutorials and an extensive implementation period to make the end user comfortable with the system Cons If I had to list a negative it would be.... nothing! If you use it to its full advantage, it can do the majority of payroll, insurance and benefit selections, open enrollment, hiring and termination, and employee contact information all for you. Pros Zenefits allows me to easily hire, terminate, and track all employees safely and securely. It is user friendly and allows the employee to manage all of their personal information and benefits as well as benefit selections with ease. Cons Zenefits does have some quirks in their system, they haven't perfected everything but every month they progress and whenever I do find a problem or glitch in the system, the customer support team and service is always very helpful. It was very easy to enter all my information and send it to HR for verification and signing. It also generated my W-2 when i needed for tax returns. Pros It is a great software for people in Human Resources for onboarding of new candidates. It has all the details which are needed for a employee to fill in on his first day. Also it has details to fill on about your address, personal information, tax information, so that the employer has full information. At the end of tax year, it automatically generates the W-2 for tax purposes and you can download it with your login. You can also view your pay stubs and the whole breakdown of your pay. It also gives information about the people in the company and all the benefits of your company. Cons The only thing missing in this software would be that it retains of the employees after being terminated/resigned from the company. We found the service and renewal to be problematic. " April 13, 2018 5.0 Pros Ease of use, layout was clean and easy to understand. I liked that we could set up access levels with permissions for different classes of employees. Cons We liked Zenefits but we ended up letting it go because the plans they offered were no longer competitive for us, which worked out because Zenefits made no attempt to renew our business, and it made it difficult for us with the plans Zenefits had us in. Pros In regards to the "free" areas of Zenefits (the ones that come with having them as your benefits broker) they are limited and pertain mainly to the basics of benefits. I do like that Zenefits can connect to our JazzHR ATS when onboarding. Cons I don't like that you have to pay for benefits related services such as reporting and 1099 compilation at the end of the year. This should not be an upcharge and for my company, the ability to run the 1099 reports and work with the document storage section cost for the year under the Bronze plan. Contacting support is difficult now and there is a constant revolving door with regards to their employee turnover and so it has been hard to even know who to work with when we need help. Simple for new hires to get into the system and turned on as an employee. The compliance tracking is nice, but unless you use the time and attendance aspect of this system, you are going to put in a lot more work to get the years 1094c's completed. Pros The ease of use. Particularly from the employees side when it comes to onboarding. Employees always find it easy to navigate, and finish their onboarding tasks with ease. Cons The rising costs. I can find other systems that offer more features for less. With each additional aspect of your system now each costing their own amount, by the time you add up each module your costs are too much for a small to medium sized organization to assume. Pros I like that it takes the administrative work out of HR's hands. Employees have to be responsible for themselves. It also cuts down on the issue of having incorrect information put in on behalf of the employee, due to things like sloppy handwriting or the employee being confused about what they're signing up for. Cons The reporting function is not good. It's extremely basic and you can't use filters prior to running the report, meaning you have to take the entire Excel spreadsheet and sort/filter to get the fields you want. Other concerns are the difficulty of navigating around the site and the strange fact that you can't print the org chart. Review Source Geoff B. Zenefits has helped us achieve that and provide enterprise-level service to our small startup. Pros I really like having a single benefit platform to access all of my benefits, 401k, pay stubs and time off management. The simple signup process is easy for members and easy reporting for management. Cons So far Zenefits has met all of our needs and we haven't found an area of improvement that I can mention at this time. January 4, 2020 5.0 For me specifically, time off requests, benefits and personal information are all in one place. Easy to access from anywhere. Pros The platform is super easy to use. Having all the important information in one place; clearly being able to look back at history too. Being able to see your team and approve/view all time off or documentation information is excellent. Cons I don't think I can think of one thing I dislike about it. I'm a user and don't have to deal with admin, which I suspect there is more room to improve as always there. Once things got complex, I feel like it made more sense to move to an HRIS where employment information was easier to track and update. However, for the cost and functionality, it definitely helped our company at an early stage. Pros \- easy to use UI - straight forward - gets everything you need done - completes background checks and a place for all employee information Cons \- not super robost - the customer service is helpful for quick things but anything in depth they take a few days to get back to you - not supportive once you get over 100 employees (better off hiring a full-time HR person to manage all the stuff zenefits does) Review Source LP Larissa P. April 16, 2018 3.0 Timekeeper, Hiring, Employee maintenance. Pros I like the ease in which I can hire and even terminate employees. After initial set-up I can easily sending onboarding information to new employees who in turn seem to easily set up their account and complete all of the necessary paperwork to get started. Cons We don't yet utilize the Payroll platform in Zenefits, and sometimes there are issues getting employees rolled over to the platform we use. When I have these issues I try to use the chat feature but am not very successful in getting adequate assistance. It is almost like the help reps are busy and don't have time for lil old me. If you have an issue, there is no telephone number to call and no one will get back to you until 3-5 days later. At least that is what they say. Typically it takes over a week. This is truly the WORST customer service that I have ever encountered. It would be one thing if my issue was a login. The issues though are always about paying my taxes late. Correct, you read that right. They pay my employment taxes late, consistently, and I have to pay penalities. RUN to a different company. Zenefits is truly the worst. Pros The features are great for employees to manage time off on their own, etc. Cons You can't EVER get ahold of a customer service agent. The onboarding experience was smooth and quick. The longest step was the manual work to transition over, but once that was done, everything was automated, especially payroll and performance reviews. Pros I really enjoy how it automates what several different services were doing formally (each was worse separately too), under one platform. Namely: HR, Payroll, Benefits, and performance reviews. The training videos are excellent too as someone who isn't an expert in HR. Cons The website and search capabilities can sometimes take 10 seconds to return a result. We depends on Zenefits daily to track time and attendance, vacation, compliance info, employee onboardings, and more! Their team has always been quick to help if I have any setbacks and they roll out updates to improve the user experience frequently. Pros The simple navigation and easily available support via chat or phone call. Cons The Time & Attendance app user interface can be improved.
