Customer support is the worst I have ever seen. Chat room doesn't know shit, and when you call them they never return calls. Software design is poor and lacks basic functions. Time tracking is a joke, doesn't work 50% of the times. I opened a ticket to add a contractor's bank info and I am still waiting to hear back from some one after 2 MONTHS!!!!!! Pros Absolutely nothing! Not sure who would benefits from this clunky software. I honestly don't. Cons This is a scam. Believe me , all positive reviews are fake. Just ask for a trial and try setting things up yourself and call customer support to get help. You'll see it by yourself. Do yourself a favor and never sign an annual contract. Co-founder Information Technology and Services Used the software for: 2+ years ### "HR automated" June 20, 2016 5.0 We started using it from the beginning of forming our company (over two years ago) and have been really pleased with the amount of features and support that Zenefits has provided. With any new company, there are usually some hiccups, but, they are always quick to fix problems and always available. We initially started out by using it as a platform before using them as our broker and haven't looked back since. We have two offices in California and Arizona and it has been really easy to onboard new employees remotely. Pros Speed of onboarding, new features, seamless integration to QuickBooks for payroll, price, automation of most things HR. They have an iPhone App which is nice for checking in on things on the go. And they have lots of great integrations with other systems we rely on! March 14, 2022 1.0 Worst customer service experience I have had in over 20 years in the corporate and HR world. They did not fulfill their side of implementation and then refused to refund the pre-payment for the 1st year of service although we never used the software. Pros The pro that I could find was the the sales team was great to work with and helped you understand the product that the had to offer. Cons Everything!! The implementation was a nightmare! The team I worked with did little to nothing to help implement their product. I had to cancel before completing implementation as I had lost all confidence that this software had the support and care needed to handle an entire HRIS. Zenefits couldn't figure out how to withhold and remit Pennsylvania taxes properly. Continuous attempts over a one year period to rectify the situation led nowhere. I'm no longer a customer and have yet to receive a resolution. Since they had already received my money for a yearly subscription, they apparently didn't care about lending any assistance. I cant imagine a worse experience for a new business owner. All I expected was to get a service that kept me compliant with tax laws, since that is what I paid for. Pros Nothing. They take your money and don't care about providing the services that you paid for. Customer service is almost impossible to get ahold of and complete garbage when you can get through to them. Switching back and forth between your personal user dashboard as well as the admin dashboard is very nice. The reports are great and the customizable reports are perhaps its greatest quality. Cons Sometimes the system will run quite slowly. Additionally, it misses out on many other integrations. It is clearly a software for smaller businesses as it simply doesn't have the integrations to other HR components to be considered an all-in-one solution that larger orgs need. Review Source Nick A. I don't have any qualms. I received payment, even though it wasn't consistent and I was able to update information or access important documents when and where I need. The cloud-based service is nice to have. Pros I used Zenefits in the past when I did work with an online non-profit. This was used as the cloud-based HR service and how we were paid, received personal documents, etc. It was simple and effective. I like how you are able to manage your own HR needs and on-boarding seemed simple enough for me. I could see this being advantageous for small businesses, but could be daunting with larger groups. The self-service feature is a pretty awesome thing to have. So often you have to jump through hoops to access important documents. Cons It seemed limited on what was possible. Even as an end-user, there wasn't much I was able to do. Also- payroll was off at times. Just was not consistent. Also- I think being cloud-based, it misses the personal touch, which may be needed when working with HR documents and needs. Didn't even pay taxes right. Cons Zenefits didn't file any of the state taxes despite saying they would - leaving a massive mess for us to clean up We therefore decided to terminate, and Zenefits has all our employee records and refuses to turn them over and shut off all access, making it impossible for many of our employees who didn't get these records prior to termination to turn them over. Office Manager Insurance Used the software for: 1-2 years ### "Lacking in Customer Support and Functionality" February 13, 2017 2.0 Our needs are fairly simple for a small company with under 10 employees, but we have discovered that Zenefits can't even handle some of the smaller requests we have inquired about, to totally messing up our insurance enrollment and leaving our employees having to pay out-of-pocket to doctors for the first 2 months of our plan. Pros PTO tracking - but now Zenefits is going to charge for this. Cons Poor customer service - you need to have a designated rep instead of inquiries and problems going to a general support team. Your software is too rigid for a smaller company and allows no flexibility to accommodate a smaller company's needs. The software can be very difficult to navigate. Reception Veterinary Used the software for: Less than 6 months ### "Zenefits" March 10, 2022 5.0 Pros This software is truly an all in 1, you can see your benefits, paystubs, tax information, time clock and really everything you need as an employee on this app. We recently made the switch from When I work and now use Zenefits for everything. I like that when you take your lunch break it deducts it from the total hours you worked that day so you know exactly how many hours will be on our paycheck, you gets alerts when your paystub is ready to view and are able to fill out all important documents, right on your phone. I think it is a great software. Cons I cant think of any cons of this software, I think it is great. It is a great tool for businesses to keep everything in one place and avoid employee confusion of having to look multiple different places for their information. April 26, 2018 1.0 The BBB has advised me to contact my state attorney general about Zenefits. If you've had similar issues with them, I suggest you do the same. Pros The interface was very easy to use, when it worked. The problem is less with the tech interface, and more a problem that's becoming more common in both healthcare and the tech industry. Cons Zenefits is a BBB-unaccredited company with a history of corporate scandal, whose CEO has been fined by the SEC and accused of creating a toxic culture. My experience with Zenefits was inexcusable. I paid for medical insurance directly to them for 4 months before seeing a doctor. When I did seek a doctor, I discovered Zenefits had never contacted the insurance company. My medical card was useless - they had simply pocketed my payments. I complained to the Better Business Bureau, and Zenefits ignored them. A month later, I was notified that I now had health insurance, backdated for 5 months. Imagine how useful it is when a doctor refuses to see you because they can't verify your insurance. It took several days to determine that no, I have no insurance, but 1 month from now I'll have had insurance for the past 4 months, and I've already paid for all of it! These companies aren't simply supposed to provide a tech interface. They are also supposed to conduct business in an ethical manner, providing the services that are paid for. This product should be outstanding - but it's not. Commuter Benefit claims submitted get "stuck" (actual description provided by the company) on a regular basis. Of the last 20 claims I've submitted, more than half didn't get paid and required extensive amount of time on the customer's part to resolve. The company is aware of this but apparently is incapable of resolving it. This has been going on for over two years. No fix in sight. Claim submitted just a few days ago (May 2019) - again stuck. Cons The inability for the claims process to work without involving excessive amount of time contacting support and tracking their errors. Review Source Taddes K. It provides an easy place to track your time off, register for time off, manage health benefits, access important payroll information and manage just about everything related to your work. I love how responsive it is, that there is a mobile application that is streamlined, and how you don't require hackneyed, inefficient platforms that separate one part of HR management from another. Cons Nothing. Compared to custom benefits platforms or other HR implementations similar to this, none hold a candle to Zenefits. It is great for beginners to get into an HRIS system. Pros Its easy setup was the part I liked the most about this software. Cons The ability to adapt to our changing needs and environment. Its inability to support Iphone usage for internet calendars. No integration for tracking FMLA, lack of options for background checks. Does not integrate well without other systems.
