January 31, 2018 5.0 Whenever I've had questions, Zenefits has always been quick to respond. Everyone I've spoken to has been rather pleasant.! Pros We use the free stuff and have been very impressed. I used to maintain paper employee files, but almost everything I wanted in those paper files is much easier to document in Zenefits. I also really like the health benefits administration and COBRA administration. Once the system is set up, most of the communication demands are done automatically within the system. Our employees also like that they're able to use Zenefits to make elections at open enrollment and review those elections whenever they want to. Cons I'd like to be able to eventually be able to use Zenefits for time and attendance and for payroll because the platform is simple and intuitive and because our employees would really like the integration with their existing Zenefits accounts. The price for us, however, is not competitive enough with our standard Quickbooks system to justify the switch. Review Source Amber C. I've personally liked using it for about four years! Pros As an employee who uses Zenefits to manage my time off, benefits and more, I love using it! They make the features easy to use and easy to understand, plus it's nice to have one place to look up all of my administrative activities and policies. Cons I hear from my boss who manages our businesses HR duties in Zenefits has had a bit of trouble with support. Personally from using the platform as an employee, I don't have any complaints! The benefits of the zenefits solution are clear in the ability from the onset in onboarding to offer employee self-service, which allows employees to make informed decisions, actively manage their accounts. There is a significant depth of add-on modules to grow with organizations' complexity and expand into comprehensive HR solutions in managing performance. There is an extensive tutorial library of salient human capital related content to better engage with employees throughout the lifecycle. Cons We're new into the evaluation so it will take some time to come up to speed on the breadth, depth of full capabilities - including integration with other systems in the future. Right now, it suits a start-up to get up and running on a full onboarding experience with comprehensive benefits and has the capacity to scale as we grow. Seems like they are working on the options we would like. Though, the Vanguard issue is just more whether they can strike up an agreement or not. Pros Streamlines onboarding. All payroll and hours records in one place. No more clunky spreadsheets and manual tracking. Cons \-Cannot integrate Vanguard retirement benefits. -Cannot allocate type of pay for personal or holiday pay by department (needed for grant management with our organization) -Cannot put exempt and non-exempt employees on same payroll - have to be processed separately. I just love them. Keep it up and bring the system to SA. Pros I have been exploring Zenefits and it is amazing. The people management service does what they say it does, or better more it does more than that. The level of service from their customer service is outstanding. They follow up to make sure that their clients are happy or if they need help. Cons The cons are that when you are building the profile and you don't finish it after 30 days it gets deleted. January 5, 2017 4.0 Zenefits is great for start-ups that are looking to grow. Easy to use and employees have the ability to view personal information along with benefits, compensation, it interfaces with Expensify, Lever, and many more apps. Easy to make changes to employees profile, makes everything paperless when it comes to managing employee information. Reports are great, you can create your own or use the ones they provide. They offer the ability to manage not only benefits but corporate liability insurance, FSA and commuter benefits. Payroll syncs easily if you use one of their partners or use Zenefits own payroll service. If your company is on a budget this is the way to go as you have insight into everything! Do away with PEO's as they are costly! Pros Easy to use and syncs with many apps out there. ADP workforce, Lever, Slack, Expensify and many more. Cons Sometimes hard to figure out where stuff is in each of the sections from and administrator point. April 18, 2018 5.0 Pros The software is easy to use and understand. There are constant improvements and upgrades, but it is always easy to use and understand. The program answers your questions as if you are working with someone on the other side of the program to assure you things are going well and that you completed the task. Cons Sometimes I feel that the improvements are too slow. I want the phone app to be able to do alot more as an admin person. Cons I will have to say that the lack of integration with other programs out there is disappointing, specifically Unanet and with our 401k platform. There is also a lack of customization. For me it was in the areas of bulk upload of data being limited, unable to sync with my companies pay periods and schedule, and being able to customize reports to allow me to see only what I need and not have to choose from a pre-set list. The company phone book is also really nice to have for ICE type events. They also recently released an iPhone app which has come in handy on multiple occasions. I could quickly request a day off from home without needing to login to my desktop or wait til I came in to work the next day and do it. Generating pay statements is also a snap. since I have direct deposit set up, anytime I need to access and remind myself what I got paid and when, I can use Zenefits. Cons I hate to leave off a downside, but I have not run into any issues using Zenefits. Yes, there are other services out there for this kind of thing, but Zenefits has just proven easy to use. I don't have to re-learn the UI or how to request time off (etc) everytime I log-in. Most everything else, for me, is not of much consequence. Review Source KW Katie W. It's more "boutique" and feels like more personable than an ADP or bigger Benefits/HR software. I would recommend it to others. Pros It's easy to navigate and I like the look of it. The insurance set-up is VERY easy to use and always quick. Cons There is only one con -- the "Time off" doesn't sort by the type of time-off you have taken (sick, vacation, work from home days). So when it says "time off taken this year," that could mean sick and WFH days. It doesn't show you your true vacation hours, year to date. Pros The platform it's easy to use. It was also easy to implement. It communincates smoothly with the payroll provider(ADP) through API. As long as the product is free to use - I would use it. Cons Modifying templates could be a little bit trciky. The health insurance part is done through another company One Digital. When using the payroll system the software emails the employee reminders for submitting time sheets before payroll is approved. The software stores all of our personal information securely. It also allows access to some information about the company or employees in regards to department breakdowns and heads of departments. There is an app so it makes it easier for people to use the software. Cons I have not really had any issues with this software and I think if there was a problem it would be really easy to get help with all the ways they offer support Review Source Ryan D. However, Implementation and Service was a nightmare. Never able to get in-touch with our representative. Enrollment deadlines were messed up. Directly due to the Zenefits fiasco our start date was incorrect with our provider resulting in several thousand dollars of fees for service we were not enrolled in. Then resulting in a loss of coverage. You get the same rates going with any benefits broker. I would advise going elsewhere. And give Zenefits a few years to grow out of their infancy. Pros The platform is nice and helpful for on-boarding new employees. Cons The company appears over-loaded with work and always behind on timelines. Near impossible to get in-touch or feedback from any representative we worked with. Considerable loss of money due to them getting our start date wrong. While other providers restrict options more (particularly the benefits aspects are more all or nothing), Zenefits has a more a la carte model. For sure, it would be simplest to manage all things through the platform, but sometimes the timing is not great to make major changes or there are other circumstances that make it beneficial to not do so (for example, we had no interest in changing our major medical offering). Cons Pretty significant setup fees. The way Zenefits withdraws wages and then payroll taxes doesn't cleanly align with bookkeeping. It requires a bit more manual work to separate out than i would like. Overall though, there's a lot to like. September 5, 2019 5.0 We've been able to streamline all of our HR needs in one solid platform to facilitate growth here. Pros This is the strongest platform we've used over the last year. We switched from Gusto and never looked back! Without fail this platform has served the growth of our agency so much and offers independent employee portals, paystubs on demand, even connecting to platforms for 401k! Cons The UI needs a lot of work vs. the competition, often it's hard to navigate and find things in so many submenus you'll get lost easily.
