They even have like a debit card that we can use to maintain our transportation deduction. I totally recommend any office to use Zenefits Cons Nothing in particular. Cons \-My boss and I had many issues with customer service while we had Zenefits. We were given inaccurate information on multiple occasions, which further complicated issues and caused great stress to us and our employees. They have a great culture and it shows in their product, which is inspiring Pros Interface is simple to navigate and find what you are looking for. Full Stack Engineer Computer Software Used the software for: 1-2 years ### "Zenefits - Saving me so much time" August 20, 2018 5.0 I own an LLC as an SCorp and have no office admin, I cannot understate how much time Zillow saves me with payroll and all of the required tax filings throughout the year to keep me tax compliant. Pros I like how easy it is to get setup with payroll for each employee. Also how easy it is to do pay runs and one off payments like distributions. I haven't even scratched the surface with what it offers as I handle my 401k and health/medical benefits elsewhere. It boggles my mind how satisfied I am with Zenefits but haven't even used all of its features. Cons I seriously cannot think of a single thing I dislike about this software. You are able to keep clean employee files, documents, and have new hires e-sign their paperwork. Cons Sometimes the system was very clunky, we were not able to do certain things and some users would have different views, although the same permissions. Support was very poor here. Although we used this system during 2015 when there was a lot of internal turmoil at Zenefits. Overall we made it work! Pros It's a SaaS solution, with the basic option to process payroll Cons Anything that is not a basic payroll is hard to do, requires assistance from support or takes weeks. The support is not good. It is hard to reach and even trivial issues take multiple touches to solve. Pros The program keeps evolving into a better and better product. They have already blasted past all expectations. There is no one in the range of Zenefits that for the price can add the start up tech. The on boarding and work flow and data space is amazing. It's user friendly in that regard and easy to navigate for employees. As a vendor, my Account Manager and her supervisor seem intelligent, efficient and doing the best they can with an inferior product. Cons They have not gotten a correct health benefits payroll deduction since November - it's April. They send you to multiple payroll specialists who you have to re-educate on the problem. I have encountered the same issue with double-deductions being pushed from Zenefits every single month. I am typically left double-checking that the second payroll of the month has been corrected; 50% of the time it has not. No one knows why our benefits deductions keep screwing up. Every time they think they fix the issue it goes wrong again. Ultimately we had to switch mid-year to a new vendor because they couldn't get anything right. This is only one of the multiple issues I have had on the benefits end of things. There isn't enough time in my day to explain to you how challenging they made open enrollment and health deductions. The on boarding of new employee is stemless and easy for both the employee and employer. Been really happy with their product since Beta :) Cons In the begin almost everything was free and when they move to a non free version, I thought that they are more in the expensive side. October 22, 2018 5.0 Great way to document and request PTO and other benefits related information. Pros Simple log in to website. PTO request or other request are very straight forward. You can also see all supported holidays already listed. Cons No documentation as to when submitted. Pros There is a lot of information that I can access in my page. I can see the team that works with me and it gives me a great overall picture of the company. Cons When I enter my hours, another box open in the same day, automatically. This caused that in my first week I entered all the hours of the week in the same day. Lack of attention in my part. However, if instead of the box opening automatically, I had to open it manually, this confusion might not happen. Also the overnight selection, I don't particularly like. Outside of some customer service issues, I have not had any complaints. Pros This software is visually appealing and very user-friendly. It has many features all in one place. Cons The customer service is not as good as I've experienced with other platforms. You can chat in or call them directly, but the hold times are often very long and the quality of service is hit or miss. Once of the times I was told my email issue would resolve if I cleared the cookies and cache in my browser. I'm not really sure this guy knew what he was talking about or was on autopilot. Afterward I was told if that didn't work I would have to call their IT people. My sales person has pretty much abandoned me with the issues I've had since our employees not having email was a point I clearly made on several occasions. He no longer responds. Totally unhappy with their services. Pros Once everything is actually set up, it's very attractive. It keeps everything organized exactly how I'd like it to be done. Cons Extremely difficult to set up. Employees are required to have UNIQUE addresses. Some of our employees do not have phones or computers at home, let alone a personal email address. Pros Zenefits allows you to manage time, payroll benefits, compliance, HR and apps all in one easy to use software. Customer service is helpful and available when needed, which is a huge bonus! Cons Pricing can be a bit expensive depending on the number of employees you have. The standard package is very basic, and then there are add-on apps which cost more. Could be a better value. May 4, 2018 5.0 Pros Zenefits allows me to access my pay stubs, submit time off requests, change my tax settings, view my commuter benefits as well as sign company documents. I can also see company hierarchy and some basic information about members on my team. Zenefits makes dealing with HR related inquires much easier. Cons Zenefits does not show pay stub information before the actual payday. I am used to paycheck software that notifies you a few days in advance of payday of your pay stub being ready to view. Now we have a centralize dashboard that my team can log into to check the status of the new hire from offer letter all the way to signing up for benefits..etc. The ability to streamline your internal processes and paperwork are there, but you do have to set it up yourself. Once you do I guarantee it's worth every penny. Cons Lot of new features do roll out, but those updates are noted within newsletter but some of them are not even revealed. As the HR and office manager for a non-profit school, we are growing very quickly and I needed a resource where I could streamline our on-boarding, get rid of hard copies, and manage our staff's employee files and paid time off in one place. I started using Zenefits this past August and have had a wonderful experience with the product and the customer service. Someone is willing to help and getting back to me. I find emailing is the quickest way to get a response, which is my preferred communication as well. Since I have started using Zenefits under the direction of their new CEO, they are continuing to grow and improve their already great platform. The set up time is as to be expected since not every company is the same and each company's needs are different. I am a huge fan and supporter of Zenefits and their customer service. I am excited to grow with this company and their product. Pros Onboarding new employees and getting all of their paperwork done takes me a few clicks of a mouse to get all of the information to the employee. I am able to manage and track PTO by just downloading a report, and most importantly, everything is done in one place. Cons You have to pay to use their payroll service =) Review Source SG Sandra G. Manager Accounting Used the software for: 6-12 months ### "Zenefits is not great" October 14, 2021 2.0 Out of all the payroll companies that I work with as a bookkeeper, I have to say Zenfits is one of the worst. Pros When we first did a demo call, the staff and sales people were awesome. I had met them before at an accounting conference. Then 2 weeks after my client signed up with them, a hedge fund bought them and it all went downhill from there... Cons There is no way to pull one report that shows how the payroll ties out to what cleared the bank. Sometimes the difference will be thousands of dollars between what their reports show and what was debited from the bank. After calling tech support multiple times we were told that this happens when there are credits but no report exists that lists or explains the credits. Also, their tech support is awful. Switched from [Gusto](https://www.capterra.com/p/131882/Gusto/) The client decided to switch because they had outgrown Gusto and needed someone to cater to more than 300 employees.
