Example: You can't rehire a former employee (when you do rehire someone you have to create a new record for them and the software doesn't recognize that it is the same person, so sometimes we have three records for the same person. Pros It makes onboarding, setting up new staff, and dealing with the government requirements in the many states so much easier. The reports generate pain free, and easily so we can send them off to the variety of insurers require it. HR Manager Computer Software Used the software for: 1-2 years ### "Free-mium Zenefits is a functional HR system, but not ideal" September 6, 2016 3.5 Pros This solution is cost effective and allows HR to have employee files, track PTO, push policy acknowledgements, etc. This is a very basic HR solution with minimal cost. Cons There is little to no customer support, you will work with several individuals to resolve a single issue. High turnover in account managers or points of contact at Zenefits. The system has issues on both the HR user side and the employee side in terms of functionality. Reports and custom reports are hard to pull. Policies often lose their format when uploaded with a 72 hour upload time. Zenefits does not communicate with ADP. You cannot re-activate old hires or profiles in the system (interns, seasonal workers, etc). This has been a cost effective solution for us, but there have been may issues above. Pros It's pretty straightforward and not difficult to use. The pages I need are accessible at all times and I haven't had any serious issues. Cons Customer service is slow in terms of issue resolution, sometimes it can be glitchy. The layout is not impressive and a bit underwhelming. Not the most user friendly software. Employees seem to like the mobile apps too for clocking out. Pros Makes payroll + benefits a breeze. Onboarding is really nice as well. Really enjoy zenefits relative to old our HR software. We use it for every step of our employee on boarding process. We have documents, track Options, track pay, track vacation time, run pay stubs, it's amazing. Zenefits is as necessary to HR as a Hammer is to a construction worker. Cons I know there was some stuff in the news recently that I did not agree with, but the tool itself is amazing. September 10, 2019 1.0 We never completed implementation, I asked to be let out of our contract a few weeks in. It took almost 6 weeks or so to get a decision that went all the way up to their CFO. I had to explain numerous times how awful their product and customer service was, and they still wouldn't let us fully out of our contract. Do not sign a contract, remain month to month. They quietly threw that in there unbeknownst to our team. AVOID AT ALL COSTS. Pros Lots of modules to help with every phase of employment, including COBRA admin, Commuter, ACA etc. That's why we chose the system to make it a true all-in-one. Worst decision ever. Cons Very clunky system and not very user friendly at all. The UI is terrible, not very eye pleasing. All of the comments you read about their customer service is absolutely true. They have the worst CS ever, expect long delays with getting someone on the line. It keeps everyone's information in one spot, digitally, and secure. It saved me so much time by employees being able to request time off from their computers and being able to track their vacation time. Pros Cheap to use, very user-friendly. It's an all-in-one stop for anyone in HR Cons It is free, so you don't get the extreme features of the paid software, but I found that it had everything I needed right there. Using Zenedesk employees can view paycheck stubs, request time off, view PTO balance, get tax forms, etc. Cons The only thing I don't like about zenefits is that it is not as flexible to different shifts. Finding information for employment verifications is a breeze! Cons The batch file reports. They are password protected and they don't give you the password. Now it is much easier and smoother to make sure that everything is done. Also the COBRA process is now taken care of completely for us. Very nice. Pros Open enrollment for health insurance. PTO use and approvals. Information on all employees at my fingertips as Administrator. Cons There are no phone numbers to call for HELP. Computer Software Used the software for: ### "Great Idea, Mediocre Implementation" February 12, 2015 2.5 Pros The onboarding process for my employees has been very easy. I get great feedback from new employees. I like that they can manage their benefits online themselves and I stay out of the way. The reports and information I can see are generally good, though sometimes lacking detail (like tracking changes). Cons I have had problems in several different areas with setup of new products (adding life insurance and 401K for example). There is frequently something broken about their interface and the response time to fix things or answer questions is a joke. I've had open tickets with them for weeks and weeks that still haven't been resolved. I get lots of "we're working on it" or "we'll check into it" answers. And I've had miscalculations and missed deadlines that have affected my employee's payroll, which is really not okay. And for tracking, hiring, or paying contractors, their software needs serious work. I was told by one of their customer support people that the contractor portal is very poor and that they wouldn't recommend using it at this point. Review Source Similar Products Featured
