Pros I like that everything from onboarding, to document management, time management, and benefits management can be managed in one platform. Reduces risk of human error and missing any compliance documents. Cons So many fees for adding features - To get the full suite of features, it would cost a lot per user. For a company with a tight budget, I have to pick and choose my features (which I guess is a good and bad thing because I wish I could have them all but can't because of the cost) Review Source TL Tobias L. As we add more employees, they roll out new features that make it even easier to manage HR. And quality is improving while adding new features at an astonishing rate. Every time I log in there’s something new that makes a big difference in usability. Pros Their support team has really gone to bat for us on several occasions. They never quit, and do everything that they can to get insurance carriers to make exceptions for our employees. I feel like we’re in good hands in an insurance world full of complex pitfalls and admin burdens. Once Zenefits is on case, they’re compassionate, and really go the extra mile to get the job done. Cons They are still a young company, so they lack some features of much more expensive alternatives. We've had a few bumps in the road, but their customer service got things handled promptly. Pros I only use this software to manage contractors and onboarding new people to our team. We're not growing like a weed so I use it every few weeks and it just works as advertised. The free plan is great for small businesses like mine. Cons Inflexible. Nothing is good at all from the employer standpoint. Cons Support is never available. Takes weeks to get answers. Nothing in the self serve support is located where instructions say. We would request for certain features that were not yet available to be considered in future development, and within a couple of weeks our ideas were added to the software. I like how they simplified the onboarding process. For the most part their HR records platform works pretty well. Cons The problems I came across were from using the benefit platform. The customer service process needs work. You have no direct contact (broker) to call/email when you have issues. There is a generic email address and phone number and a random rep will respond. You may have multiple conversations going at once with different people. There are also quite a few errors that have been made throughout our time with Zenefits, i.e. benefit plans from the previous year were not re-uploaded during open enrollment, therefore, were unavailable to our employees, enrollment apps were not sent to the carrier on time so employees who thought they had coverage did not, eligibility dates were not correct so benefit enrollments were not completed on time and the ACA reporting was a complete mess. In the end I do not trust Zenefits to get what I need and do as much work possible directly with the carriers. Review Source DM David M. As a hiring manager, hiring and onboarding is extremely easy and makes it so I don't have to worry about anything except obtaining i-9 documents on day 1. Every tool they have offer is very user friendly. Also, its FREE. Cons Limited relationships as far as insurance brokers go but we were able to find something that worked for our company. Adding new documents/offer letters during the hiring process takes a few days which can slow down the process. Mobile app has very limited functionality. Account Managers can be hard to get a hold of some times and its easy to just go to the Support Team with questions. Review Source SR Sherrie R. April 16, 2018 5.0 Pros I love how it's clean and simple but also helps put the employees in the passenger seat which helps navigate the process whereas before Zenefits there were constant requests that bogged down the workday. Those that have used zenefits are always easier to track benefits than those that haven't used it. I like the interface, options and usability with zenefits. I have even used it to clock in and out and track time for employees and liked how it works for that too. Cons It doesn't do it all. It can actually be fun to use sometimes. It helps keep me on track for deadlines for compliances and get information submitted for things like payroll and renewing employee health insurance. Cons I would like more options for employees like commission only employees or being able to send an offer letter when an employee is promoted. Pros Slick and clean look. Great google suite integration. Loads of interaction (though many can only handle simple processes). Very good hiring process and HR management functionality. UI was better 18 months ago when my clients signed up. Cons Service took a major hit after their very public issues. When I reached out for assistance with an issue, they didn't even attempt to fix it in a satisfactory way. If they actually want to retain clients, their service team shouldn't just assume it doesn't work for you and infer "take it or leave it." Review Source SM Sarah M. Pros Zenefits is a lot better to use than previous HR software options. The web portal makes it very easy to manage all of my health care enrollments, time off, track vacation time, etc. The portal is very nicely designed and intuitive, which is rather rare for other similar platforms I've used. Historically, third party portals were rife with bugs and a clunky interface. With Zenefits, I can trust that the information I input is secure and easy to access/change. Cons The mobile app for android leaves a little to be desired, as a number of features for accessing and changing enrollment information is not available. While the mobile app is overall very well-designed, intuitive and nice looking, it would be really useful to have full access to the features offered in the desktop version. Often, I've had to access the portal on my phone's browser, and the site isn't optimized for mobile devices.
