Cons I feel like the software lacks things that other big names have. However, I think this would only be an issue if we were to grow. It is not an issue for a small to medium-size company. When the errors arise on our users' side, as it did here, there are some legal limitations to what we can do to mitigate the effects. HR Manager Marketing and Advertising Used the software for: 6-12 months ### "Zenefits has made a strong come back, still some minor tweaks" September 14, 2016 4.0 Pros The products goals is really to allow employees to handle all HR related decisions online so that HR reps don't need to handle. Employees can enroll and terminate benefits, address changes, vacation requests all from their computer or mobile device. Also all offer letters and signing of electronic documents goes directly through zenefits. This is especially helpful for automatically getting all employees to sign your policy book, non solicitation etc. without needing any paper copies or scanning into a company database. Cons You will be assigned an Account Manager who is very responsive and good. However a lot of more technical questions, like why is there an issue with an employees benefits, need to be handled by specialists that can take a good few days or more to get an answer with. When calling, sometimes it takes a very long time to be responded to, which is a little difficult when trying to resolve an ongoing issue. Pros How easy it is to request time off, manage payroll and find any important document. it is very user friendly and simple to understand Cons as it seems, when you put a specific feature on the time-off feature, zenefits hasn't registered it correctly to remove it from your paycheck. It doesn't seem to register the unpaid time off feature. customer service also sometimes takes a while to reply. Review Source EC Erica C. Cons I honestly don't think there is anything bad about zenefits. I have never come across an easier and more intuitive employee dashboard. Information that we enter is incorrect on Zenefits end and then they tell us it is an error that our company made. We would love it if this software worked as promised. Can access Zenefits outside of the country, while on vacation. Sends reminders. Cons No geo-fencing for users on mobile time-clock. Can't contact someone via phone only email. It allows me to have a very specific sign on employment letter laying out the specifics of an employee's employment requirements. I can also get the required tax information upfront. So simple to use and the customer service has been great with any of my questions! Cons I dislike the fact you now have to pay per employee to obtain the sick/vacation time feature. It handles everything from time tracking to employee benefits. Cons The only downside for me was the performance management component. I would have liked the ability to set goals for my employees. I feel like this is crucial barometer for evaluating employee progress. There is no contact except for chat (which never responds) or email (which never replies). About halfway through the setup, after encountering these issues and doing some research, our doubts about the company overshadowed our patience. Pros Ton of features that we could have used. Great feature set for SMBs who need a comprehensive solution for HR. Relatively easy to do initial setup. Cons Some hiring documents generated contain risky errors. The information presented is not customizable enough for most businesses. Onboarding and accuracy presented issues. Some functions did not work as expected and support was not available. Hoping they can resolve it and I can update my review accordingly. Pros We haven't implemented yet but they've been charging us without proper authorization for several months. Cons I reached out to their customer service department at the beginning of this week after we realized they have been charging us for several months - even though we haven't gotten started yet. We figured it would be a simple conversation with them to resolve as we were planning on getting started anyway. After a 20 minutes of waiting on hold, I was told that they couldn't help me I had to wait for a specialist to call back. They couldn't provide me with any details about my plan or specifics on my account. I fear that when we sign up that this is the customer service I will receive. (To be fair, 4 days later someone did call me and is looking in to what they can do, we will see the outcome and I can revise accordingly). Review Source JT Jessica T. It makes finding an extension number of coworkers or who to talk to if they're out of the office super easy. Requesting time off or working from home is easy and I love that I can track it back to the beginning of my tenure here. Cons The reporting is off for PTO. The roll-up number on the main page includes Work From Home days, which skews the number, and the history view is very hard to follow, has no filters, and doesn't differentiate between what years PTO is for/used, so it can throw off counts. July 22, 2017 4.0 Pros The site is pretty easy to navigate. Customer service is great. When you email them, they respond same day and do their best to find a solution for you. They are open to feedback and make the necessary changes quickly. Cons We did start a little rocky because we felt we had to ask the question to get an answer. You can begin using Zenefits almost instantly without investing too much time learning the ropes, which is great, Cons It did not have enough functionality to be our complete solution across all clients, and instead we chose to integrate Zenefits into Payclocity. Pros What I like about Zenefits is how everything you need is under one platform. We are now paperless and HR on-boarding is soo easy. My employees love it. It has a good reporting system and a good PTO system. It was easy to add PTO days and options. Cons It was free to start and continued to get more expensive.
