We’ve been using Cin7 Core for our inventory and order management, and overall it has been a solid solution for our business over the last 6 months or so. One of the biggest strengths of Cin7 Core is its ability to centralize multiple functions—inventory tracking, order management, and integrations with accounting platforms—into one system. This has helped streamline our operations and improve visibility across our workflows. The reporting features are also helpful for gaining insights into stock levels and performance. The onboarding experience was positive, especially with support from the Solutions Architect team. They were knowledgeable, responsive, and instrumental in helping us understand how to best configure the system for our needs.

Pros

The Solutions Architect team—and \[sensitive content hidden\] in particular—were fantastic to work with. \[sensitive content hidden\] is highly knowledgeable and did an excellent job clearly explaining our challenges and the available solutions in a way that was easy to understand and act on. His commitment to equipping us with the right tools and setup to keep our business running smoothly has been invaluable. We truly appreciate his guidance and the time he took to walk us through our options.

Cons

There are areas where the platform could improve. Customer support can sometimes be slow, particularly when dealing with urgent issues. Having access to a real-time support option, like a live chat or hotline, would make a big difference. Additionally, occasional system quirks and delays in syncing can be frustrating and require follow-up. I wish Cin7 offered a support hotline for immediate assistance. I submitted a ticket, but the response was routed to a different team member, which caused delays in addressing and resolving our issue.

A lot of initial work was required from what was said before but the onboarding team was extremely helpful, personable, and responsive. This was extremely valuable as I would have been lost on my own. I am very grateful that we paid a little extra for the more personal "at your own pace" onboarding package. I would have been lost trying to do this on my own! As a (somewhat)small business, our resources are limited, and this is like gaining 3 employees to help with order management, purchasing, and inventory management for a fraction of what it would cost to actually do that. Going off of that, those various roles often fall on one person, so this is like having a world-class assistant. Additionally, this is going to make information for our employees, such as BOMs, Supplier Info, and Product Availability, easily accessible, which is crucial to have our team well-informed. I can't stress this enough, but this is going to be a key factor in our business's growth, sustainability, and scalability for years to come. Thank you Cin7 team!

Pros

The value of this inventory system was highly justifiable, given that its cost was half that of another system with roughly the same capabilities. Overall, the insights that this will provide, as well as the processes that it will automate, are going to be a key factor for our growth as a business. I really like the ease of use and well-designed layout/navigation. I also LOVE the resources you provide to walk users through processes such as creating an assembly/purchase order. This will be a huge help when our employees use it.

Cons

The only "frustrating" part I ran into was importing CSV files if the title was changed at all, but that was mainly user error. Aside from that, it took a lot of work to get all of our sku's into the system, but once again, that wasn't anything Cin7 could control and was a necessary cost to get started, considering we had no inventory system before this.

Functionality limitations that we are discussing directly with the developers. A few reporting changes would vastly improve our workflow.

Automation is a big plus things like stock updates, order syncing, and invoicing save a lot of manual effort. Cons

I like the functionality of the application overall. It offers several great features in even its most basic package. But has the ability to be expanded to cover any aspect of conducting your business. Plus they have excellent customer service who are always there with an answer.

Cons

I have noticed that is runs a little slow towards the end of the business day. But it is only a bit of a lag nothing that makes it unuseable.

Cin7 Core has a lot of potential, and once configured, it delivers on many of the operational needs we had. However, the experience highlighted how much the value of a platform depends not just on features, but on the reliability of support behind it. While we’re satisfied with the current setup, the path to getting there was more difficult than expected and has made us more cautious when evaluating support responsiveness in the future.

Pros

Cin7 Core offers a wide range of features that make it a powerful platform for managing inventory, orders, and integrations. Once set up properly, it provides strong automation and centralized control, especially when connecting to platforms like Shopify and ShipStation. When the system works, it works well.

Cons

The biggest downside is the customer support experience. When an issue arises, especially one involving system configuration or integrations, getting it resolved can be extremely slow and disorganized. In our case, it took five months to fix a problem that affected our shipping workflow, largely due to missed follow-ups, unclear communication, and a lack of accountability; not necessarily because the solution itself was complex. The support process left us with little visibility and a lot of frustration.

Pros

so far so excellent. onboarding is great, my rep \[sensitive content hidden\] is awesome and very knowledgeable. the software does exactly what it claims it can do. after dealing with one vendor that provided false promises, CIN7 is the tool we needed all along.

Cons

group onboarding moves at a standard pace, not the pace of our business needed. Could have additional onboarding support after 4 week project plan.

Extremely intuitive layout with exceptionally responsive support. Great value compared to other inventory management software, with the right native integrations for most businesses.

some of the integrations don't line up perfectly (as expected, but a guy can dream) to our specific needs.

Pros

Muditha really understood the issues we were facing and found the source of the problem which I would never have found without her help.

Sync issues with Xero Wish I could alter the average cost of a product without the phaff of exporting and importing again

Al round I would describe my experience with Cin7 as very positive. For the most part it is intuitive and easy to navigate and understand. When used properly it makes my life super easy

Customer support is awesome. They are fast reliable and extremely knowledgeable. The y have consistently solved my issues in a timeous and professional manner

Cons

Slightly bulky for single store retailers. For some reason retail prices, costs, barcodes and SKU's don't sync to Shopify and have to be manually corrected in Shopify.

Wonderful, and Training sessions were the best thing about the Cin7. The best thing that we liked was the onboarding program, which is well-designed, and Jinesh is the best instructor.

Pros

functionality and interface. Cin7 has the best interface to use for any new users. I have used a couple of these inventory management software, but Cin7 is the best.

Cons

Nothing to dislike here, I would recommend everybody to use Cin7. Cin7 has the best onboarding program that will put your worries to ease.

She resolved both issues efficiently and helped me clearly understand the COGs-related problems we were facing due to multiple accounts. The session lasted around 45 minutes and was very helpful in getting clarity on our system. Excellent support – really appreciated!

Cons

To manage COGs across multiple accounts, you need to upgrade to the Advanced Products module, which adds extra cost and complexity. This should ideally be a standard feature for businesses with varied product lines.

Since moving to Cin7 (formerly Dear Inventory), we have faced non-stop price hikes. They keep attributing these increases to "system improvements," but we aren't seeing any benefits from these changes—none of them seem to impact our usage. Why should we be billed for improvements we don’t use? And if they're making enhancements to attract new clients and stay ahead of competitors, why are current customers footing the bill? In our business, we constantly make improvements to our products without charging more, as it drives more sales for us. To give some context: we started with Dear in October 2021, paying $249 per month. After yet another increase, they now want $669 per month. That's a staggering jump. What’s even more questionable is when I asked them why our base subscription costs significantly more than what’s advertised on their site, I received no reply. Their website lacks transparency on pricing for additional services like B2B and POS, meaning they charge whatever they think they can get away with. For anyone considering Cin7, I’d recommend exploring alternatives like Zoho. Something is clearly off with the way Cin7 is handling pricing and communication.
