Pros

DEAR's extensive functionality proves to be an exceptional inventory solution for businesses with complex and established workflows. We at Business Continuum have had extensive experience working with DEAR, and the comprehensive yet easy to use solution has been a selling point for many businesses. After implementation, end users are left with role based permissions, a clean single page view for each function of the system, and an active support team that actually answers your questions and takes on potential changes. A clear road map with regular developments is constantly being updated to improve the system. We have seen businesses of all sizes and natures effectively use DEAR to streamline their processes and gain important insight into their inventory management.

Cons

DEAR's complexity requires dedicated time to learn the system - however, the reward is immense. Certain functions and settings require intimate knowledge of the system.

Cons

Reports: do not give enough flexibility to provide an overview of the business Lack of overal flexibility i.e reports, templates for invoice, PO etc. Integration with Xero needs improvement. Need to have 'print all' function i.e multiple select orders, print all invoices or PO.

Reports are further customisable with ability to ¿drag and drop¿ a variety of data fields and can be exported to Excel for further modifications if necessary. Inflexible invoices ¿ DEAR utilises Word document type templates specifically for this reason, flexibility. You can reach out to support for template customisation at any time as you have done in the past. Bulk printing ¿ you can select sales or purchases from the relevant list and then select the documents you would like to print in bulk. Xero integration ¿ DEAR is a ¿5 star¿ rated Xero application in the Recommended Category and was nominated App Partner of November 2017. DEAR general customer services is very supportive and covered with the software license, we wish they have an onboard service and they should have been more straightforward on telling what works and what does not work, the attempt to integrate QBO and DEAR was frustrating, however we remain using DEAR because the other benefits on orders transfer, inventory per warehouse and BOM, we are using zapiers to link certain transactions to help us keep DEAR inventory updated

Pros

Very complete software work with BOM (assemblies), it help us to track components that are not sold but consumed, program is user friendly and has many ways to be customized

Cons

Integration with QBO (Quick Books) we wasted lot of resources trying to integrate QBO with DEAR and these 2 programs are not compatible when using QBO as invoicing source

Capacity to handle BOM (assemblies), ability to forecast and let us know what we need to order, track components in different warehouses and its usage, cost is reasonable compare with other options

Promised a lot at the initial sales onboarding and specifically some items were not correctly allowed for. As such all new users will then need to add the $$$ add-ons with Cin7 which quickly diminishes the value of this software. Cin7 admits the failure and the requirement for add ons but would not offer a satisfactory outcome due to their mistake

Pros

Great cloud-based inventory and sales software

Cons

Some features that you would have thought every other customer would want to have are missing, the Portal is a total waste - and independent Cin7 voiced "They have lost the battle on the B2B portal" Don't expect this to work as anticipated and look to deploy another type

Pros

Once you get used to the way it works it is a very logical system to use as you can hold orders back from dispatch at different stages and there are plenty of areas to utilise to make notes/customise documents.

Cons

Can be a bit limiting so you have to work with it. Some fields/reports aren't possible to build without a lot of customisation.

I switched to Orderhive 3 months ago and they went beyond any expectation you may have. They answer pretty fast and are always trying to find a solution or fix any issue I may encounter. Great team to work with!

Pros

Very easy to use and very well organized. You are able to create folders for different collections. You can see on the same page what is in stock, what is outgoing and incoming.

Cons

It would be nice to have more details on the inventory log for example and instead of having the order numbers or dates only, it would be nice to have the name of the account. Would be much easier to work with

We are a small online business with over 1000 products selling on multiple channels, & with our product's always increasing, we were desperate to find a cost-effective alternative to spreadsheets & the need to use substandard website plugins, for linking products between sales channels, plus we needed a reliable system to keeping track of product variants, multiple supplier sources and of course our sales v/s product costs, The biggest problem with finding never mind choosing a viable alternative was primarily cost, most of the online cloud based inventory management systems are ridiculously priced & over bloated for our needs, it took us a great deal of searching and demos before we found Orderhive. On reviewing this company & their software platform, i came across a post that stated one of the major concerns with this East Indian based company was a deficiency in language both verbal & grammatical. I can honestly say that as an Englishman I have found their communication within both medians to be exemplary, as well as the quality of the personal customer service I have experienced, their staff are professional, knowledgable & always quick to respond with not only standard information & explanation but also with listening to suggestions (We needed a sort filter to display out of stock / low stock products in the inventory list) within a month it's now available, how cool is that!. The software is also visually crisp simple to use & very responsive, as of yet we have only utilised two of the many available integrations Ebay & Woocommerce, as we were trailing the product & only wanted to pay the starter level price of $49.99 a month, now we are sure & happy with the suitability,functionality & personal professional customer service orderhive offer us, we are planning to upgrade to the business level at a $99.99 annual subscription fee,as this level will offer us a further 4 active integrations, these are needed for adding Quickbooks online, stripe, amazon.ca & Canada post. It is important to mention however that to fully trail the product you need to subscribe to at least the starter pack as the demo version wont allow the integrations, when i queried as to why? the explanation was that when activating the integrations with third-party companies there is a cost to them (Orderhive). So we figured ok business is business we all have expenses & signed up to the lowest monthly plan while i tried their product. Axiology Imports Canada

Ease of use across all of our employees. Decreased costs and improved inventory accuracy.

Pros

Well thought out sales workflow. Really flexible and powerful in ways others weren't to enter sales orders. Takes a little getting used to, but there is a lot in there. Love the ability to price tier for B2B sales. Integrates really well with Shopify and eBay. Need to check out the B2B portal that is available, but haven't gotten to that part yet. Even though the support is all email based, we have been delighted with the speed of response and solutions to any issues we've had. I'd say on average the response time to new tickets has been in the 5-15 minute range with maybe one that reached 45 minutes. Often I'd wait longer on hold with a tech line with other companies than it takes to get a response from DEAR support email. Great integration with our accounting. Easy to implement API for extending the functionality of DEAR.

Cons

There are a few things that still need improvement we've run into. Credit Notes/Memos are terribly hard to figure out and make work correctly if you wish to give the customer a credit to use at a future date not tied to a transaction in DEAR. DEAR does tiered pricing for sales, but there is no way to have volume purchasing discount tiers beyond manually changing every time a PO is created. If a small change has to take place during fulfillment DEAR requires you to revert the order back to the very beginning of the workflow process and complete every stage again. Rather than just let you go back one step. The fulfillment QC process could be strengthened a lot. It's basically based on trust with no verification. Right now it assumes all counts/data entry keyed in are 100% accurate. I'd like to see some kind of barcode based QC verification.

Pros

Ease of use and ease of implementation. Technical support is excellent. They even customized for my needs. Their onboarding is excellent.

Cons

A couple of features to make it easy to add individual photos to variations of products could be more automated and bulk selection of items for orders is needed. Integrated POS would be great too

Orderhive is an excellent solution for small and mid-level businesses. We have set it up for many clients and all of them have had an excellent experience with it.

Pros

Orders synchronization, purchase order management, inventory management, and order fulfillment have really helped our clients stay organized and grow their business.

Cons

There aren't any cons really. There were a few issues a year ago but Orderhive has resolved all of them.

Pros

The ability to custom make invoices is a massive pro. Using Dear has meant that automating emails, bulk downloading invoices and keeping track of what's been fulfilled and what hasn't is so much simpler than it was in our previous system. It has also made things much easier in liasing between our warehouse and sales departments. The customer service has been excellent - everything, from integration information/guidelines to quick fixes on invoice issues that we couldn't iron out, was dealt with promptly and efficiently. All round it's been a fantastic experience and would be my go to system to manage inventory, fulfillments and keeping track of the accounts.

Cons

I think the biggest issue was finding that the integrations with third party shipping providers was severely limited, although it has been assured that this currently under review and likely to improve. A small con in a plethora of pros!

When a previous platform closed down in Australia (thanks Quickbooks Commerce) we were forced to look for another platform. We thought Dear was the one, but boy were we wrong. We used it for 12 months, but it was like we were working for the software, instead of the software working for us. One of the worst platforms I've ever used.

Pros

The ability to apply costs from other invoices to a shipment was very good.

Cons

Cumbersome, clunky, too many clicks to get one thing done, no ability to right click and open in new tab, returns and exchanges in our POS software created a LOT of work in the back end of Dear to reconcile the transaction. When applying a workaround for one issue, it would have unforeseen ( and sometimes unseen, until too late) consequences. Not intuitive.

DEAR Systems support takes 48+ hours to respond and they have no way to call for help. Only options are to create a support ticket that gets emailed and then requires me to wait days for a response. And then when I do get a response they can not help me with my actual problem!

Pros

Ease of use when entering orders and tracking inventory.

Cons

This software does not let me sync properly with QBO and creates duplicates Customers.

### "Great New order management App with superb potential"

A streamlined order management and processing system so we can efficiently get orders out the door. Stock management to allow us to keep stock levels correct in our warehouse and if we used accross multiple channels i.e. ebay amazon and our own website.

Pros

Very cost effective app that has great integration with Bigcommerce to allow us to efficienty mange stock and process our orders. Currently running to versions V1 and V2 the simplicity and ease of use of V2 is great (currently in Beta) but still, V1 gives you all the daily features you need, like editing orders shipping and stock management. Support is amazing. Allways on hand through the chat interface, they are very responsive even in the middle of the night. Very welcoming to ideas and suggestions for improvements to the system and are lightning fast at adding new features.

Cons

Having gotten used to our previous system they do need some automation to reduce button clicks. On the cards for development but still not available are Rules system for automating selecting shipping methods. Really need a template system to allow creation of our own packing slip/delivery notes and invoices. Would love a template system for emails being sent to customers

The business administration is now a multiple of it's previous efficiency. We can track sales, purchases and performance far, far more efficiently than before. The proof is in the pudding - walk around our sales office and at least one screen on every desk will have DEAR open.

Pros

The software is made up of simple to understand modules that have a clear purpose and have extremely good help videos and articles available. There is a "simple" and "advanced" version of most functions which makes carrying out most tasks extremely efficient while still having the power of the full functionality available in the background if needed. Any simple document can be changed to an advanced document with the click of a button.

Cons

The "Jobs" or project module is somewhat more difficult to use than other parts of the suite. Projects are a common part of many businesses and a simpler, more intuitive, module that allowed easy quotes and easy conversion to a Job would be a great enhancement.

Pros

DEAR has great depth, anticipates many issues and has great capabilities. Its focus is on the steak, not the sizzle. I'm confident that it will handle any need I'll discover I need in future. Other apps I use are great at marketing but their capabilities fall far short of what's advertised. With DEAR it's the reverse.

Cons

Customer support used to be off-putting and frustrating -- condescending and cryptic, unhelpful responses that required multiple questions, and defensive, too. Plus, very slow to respond. But it has improved a lot. The staff is knowledgeable and has become friendly -- some bad apples probably left. The answers to queries are now generally excellent. The service is still only by email and still often slow to respond. I'm on my own if I need an immediate response to a problem.

Often times I do run in to a problem, either I entered something wrong and can't fix it, or I need a bulk operation done and need support. DEAR support is always very, very responsive and they keep holding my hand until we get where we need to be. I can't say enough good things about the support. All of the support staff know the product and can immediately understand what I need, they stay with me until I do it.

Pros

The integration with our web store and accounting software, totally automated everything.

Cons

Its complicated, but probably not overly so considering what it does.

We have been using Dear and Xero for a while now and find that it works exactly how we need it to. Integration is very effective and definitely saves us time.

Cons

Functionality can often be clunky/not overly user-friendly until you are used to the way certain solutions are achieved.

Customer service has been stellar and to be honest has made the product even better. The ability to text someone and get an answer is amazing. We don’t always have time to sit on a phone and texting gives staff a chance to put it on hold when a customer comes in.

Pros

Dear’s quick updates of products/prices and such has been amazing. What used to be a several day job is done in minutes. The ability to link with XERo has also enabled us to reduce staff hours of manually entering invoices and such. It’s set up to be pretty automated.

Cons

The feature of only bringing up 5 accounts is a bit annoying when you have several people with the last name.

Reason for choosing Cin7 Core

The ease of conversion and ability to learn how to do stuff without having to have a third party IT team.

Pros

Aside from all the features it comes with when you subscribed, seriously, DEAR has the fastest support response I have encountered in years. Normally support from other companies will take hours even days to reply but DEAR Support answers in minutes and usually it's right on. Great work guys! I just love it.

Cons

You can improve more on your training videos and articles online. Videos that collaborate with other apps. Fro example: How DEAR works with Shopify and Xero per say, not just how you set up a particular integration, how they work together.
