Pros Job Budget control screen and interactive reports on job costs in real time. Implementation team was phenomenal at helping to deal with the challenges of leaving an inferior software. We used to log lump sums in Excel without knowing which invoice they came from, then dig through QuickBooks to match them. Now, we just click the line item in Premier, and all the invoices come up. You can drill down instantly and find out where discrepancies could be. That’s been huge for us. The project managers now have more insight into where their project budgets are at, what's being spent on the job and if it's being allocated properly. Without Premier, PMs wouldn't really know what's being charged to their projects or the status of their subcontracts. It was very easy to misallocate an invoice. Cons Implementation was a bit slow. We had some major differences in our opening balance between Premier and QuickBooks that we had to get fixed, but it's all good now. With the project dashboard, each project is almost like its own little company. You have your receivables, you have your payables, your hold back, your profitability. It's very easy to just select the project and get all that information with one touch so we use that all the time. The feature that I rely on the most on Premier for the past 3 years is the OData feature. With this feature, you're able to pull out live data from Premier into Excel with a push of a button and the most important part of this is being able to refresh that data whenever you want. Cons Like with any software, there are always a few things to fine-tune to meet your specific needs. The expense app was a big one for us. It allowed all our staff to upload their employee expenses in real time and do the allocation themselves, which saved my accounting team a lot of time. We have recently implemented the Smart UI, which is Premier's partnership with AI. In terms of entering AP, we've seen a ton of time savings, and I think we're just getting started in terms of AI and it's going to be really interesting to see where it goes. I've had a really great experience with the ongoing customer support. I have a recurring monthly meeting with my support team member, and I leave every meeting once a month feeling like inspired to look into something new to inspire time savings, which is really awesome. A little more information on the implementation process would be helpful. The "muted" meetings could be listened to anywhere. The private 1:1 meetings should involve a group of employees in a large room. I wish I had known that part earlier on. Pros I love the Project manager dashboard. It makes it easy to click on hyperlinks to find all the details I need and to explain my needs to non- accountants. The price point is amazing, I was unable to find another ERP solution in the market at the price point I love that I can click on a number in the Income Statement Report and all the details are displayed Unlimited document storage is great! The workflows for approvals of AP, PO, and CO is very helpful too- no more paper! Cons The foreign exchange functionality could be improved, but at there is foreign exchange of any kind at this price point. I would like more help after implementation with making custom reports/ webinar on how to customize system. Pros The best part about Jonas Premier is that it is a project management software that is fully integrated with the accounting software because it is the same software. Many other PM software systems say they integrate with accounting but the reconciliations are painful and time consuming making executives question the accuracy of data being produced.This is a great software that does the critical things related to project management and accounting better than most. Cons Payroll processing, banking integrations, KPI reporting, foreign currency translations are clunky, credit card module missing, drawings management, and personnel expense submissions. Having both functions under one platform is fantastic for our operations team. The full suite of project management functions means that we do not need additional software to fill gaps in functionality. The best feature is the customer support! The team at Premier actively seeks our feedback, always makes themselves available when we have major issues or simple questions, and the actually use the feedback to develop new features that make the software easier to use. The fact that we can make a suggestion and have it implemented in a relatively short time frame is extremely valuable to us. Cons At the start there is a bit of a learning curve, but the software is very intuitive so people learn quickly. There were some modules that were slightly cumbersome but Premier has been pushing significant updates that have solved those issues and expanded functionality significantly. The customizable client-facing forms let us tailor information to our clients' needs, and Premier’s reporting tools—like exporting to Excel—have saved us time and increased our capacity. Daily bank reconciliations are much easier, and we’ve reduced weekly checks from 150 to just 10 with EFT integration. The compliance features ensure payments aren’t processed until requirements are met, reducing errors and streamlining workflows. I also really love the job dashboard, which gives our PMs real-time insights into subcontracts, payables, and performance reports. As a result, we can make smarter, data-driven decisions. Pros Easy account set up, Chart of Accounts, Vendors, Entering AP, AR, Estimated Budget, Change Orders, Cost to the Budget, payroll are all easy to enter. Bank Reconciliation for Bank, Several Companies, Credit Card reconciliation. Cost hits a job or GL Account and easily reviewed by Great reports and Job Dashboard. you can see a snapshot of the job and see reports from the dashboard. Compliance can be tracked for Insurance or missing documents. Subcontracts can bill thru Jonas for Easy tracking. All Reports Trial Balance, Balance sheet, Income Statement, Financial statement, many more reports etc, AP, AR, 1099 Tracking, Pay on line or ACH re-occurring payments, Jonas has been easy to use and if I can not resolve I email Jonas Help and they get right back to me and set up a teams teaming or Zoom and we resolve. It has been helpful in realizing lots of efficiencies in reporting WIP and submitting monthly draw requests on time. Pros Onboard training was excellent. Support for questions or issues after implementation is excellent. Web-based software so employees and owners can view and add information from where ever they are working. Plus backup is current and ME rollover is smooth and doesn't require lots of processing to accomplish. Lots of reporting options and owners find the information easy to locate and readily available for review as needed. Very intuitive to use once for day to day activities. Cons Lien waivers need improvement - difficult to use. Premier is in the process of updating this feature and we are excited for that to be rolled out. Previously, i felt that both teams had their own "language". This program helps bridge that gap. Also during the COVID crisis, software was immensely helpful in allowing us to work from home. Pros \- Ease of Use - Modern UI (i hated some software that looked like it was an updated DOS. This software has an almost gmail-life feel). - good integration between accounting and pm tasks and responsibilities - very good customer support. they are very responsive to our questions, and very open to suggestions. - Ideas portal: separate software support & feedback where software developers actually listen to users and may incorporate our ideas into the next software update Cons \- customer support time zone. software is located on North America eastern coast, so for me in california, there's only a 4 hour window or so when you can real-time discuss (via zoom, phone, etc). - some accounting features not as strong as QB. (this is a good/bad kinda issue). bad in that one doesn't have the flexibility to make changes like one would in QB, but good in that it actually forces you to be more GAAP minded - could use more out of the box accounting reports; and or report customatization (similar to QB) Reason for choosing Premier Construction Software \- user interface just looked so much better (less intimidating, more user friendly, organized as a modern software should be).
