We have been using CIN7 for nearly 12 years and have grown with the product. Our experience has mostly been positive, and the application has grown with our business, allowing us to do most of what we need from POs and manufacturing, all the way through to quotes, sales invoices, and integration with our Xero accounting package.

Pros

It is a great platform for small-business inventory, sales, and POs. Costing, invoicing, and simple production jobs are all included, which rounds off most of what we need for the business. Easy integration to Xero for our accounting. Easy integration to Shopify for our B2B and B2C sites.

Cons

Generally, the support is quite limited and slow - they have lost all flexibility. Online chat has a limited understanding of the product, and since we have been using it for over 10 years, we tend to know more than they do. We stopped using their B2B site and also their POS software. Both were clunky and limited. Found alternatives through Shopify for both.

We have been using Cin7 Omni for the past 5 years, and overall our experience has been very positive. The platform has been reliable and scalable as our business has grown. One of the biggest advantages for us has been the API, which allowed us to build custom side applications and tailor the system to our specific workflows. This flexibility has made a significant impact on our operations.

Pros

What I liked most about Cin7 Omni is its robust API and the flexibility it offers in the UI. Being able to customize certain workflows and fields, even in small ways, has made a big difference in improving our day-to-day operations and efficiency.

Cons

Overall, there isn’t much we dislike about Cin7 Omni, as it has been working very well for our needs. If anything, some advanced customizations can require additional setup or workarounds, but nothing that significantly impacts our day-to-day operations.

Ever increasing costs for ever decreasing functionality and service. I have just submitted my notification of cancellation after 3 years using the system.

Pros

Cin7 showed a lot of promise early on being able to sync to multiple shopify stores. Interface of the system is user friendly.

Cons

Unfortunately my data including inventory levels and value conti ies to be corrupted. When Iraise these issues with Cim7 support they fix the issue but never share with you what the issue is in the back end. Support is slow and ticketed and often tickets go unresolved.

Time difference with our location delayed the resolution of my ticket. If Cin7 can match company locations with Cin7 support team locations, tickets would be resolved faster. However I have nothing else in mind for a Con.

My overall experience with CIN7 has been excellent. There are some areas that are not ideal but 95% of the program serves us well.

Pros

Cin7 is our central hub for our business where our ecomm and wholesale ordering systems connect. Order management and inventory management quite good although we are using a consignment model and the dashboard does not really support us well

Cons

I find that when creating branches for consignment the dashboard reports SOH and available stock of all branches which is misleading - consignment branches means our stock is located with customers - therefore the SOH and Avail stock should be shown on the dashboard by branch or at least for the main branch, minus consigned stock

We’ve spent the past 8 weeks implementing Cin7 Omni, and while the platform has potential, there were several challenges that hindered our experience. We are a small organization with a team of just 10 people, and given our size, we couldn’t afford a third-party partner to assist with implementation. We were initially sold on the idea of having an onboarding specialist to guide us through the process. However, the specialist assigned to us, though eager to help, was new to the role. While he made genuine efforts to understand our requirements, his limited experience occasionally slowed down the process. At times, we felt that we weren’t getting the most efficient support and that the company could benefit from assigning a more experienced person to the job. One of the most frustrating aspects was the system’s tendency to give error messages when navigating between functions. This issue was frequent, and I often had to log out and back in to resolve it—sometimes taking up to 5 minutes to clear. Another key limitation is the customization of fields. We were disappointed to find that only text-based fields could be created as custom fields, and we didn’t have the ability to make them numerical or include dropdown lists. While we were able to get support for this from Cin7, it required significant persistence and was not a seamless process. We also ran into issues with the import functionality, particularly with Sales Orders. While the copy-paste feature is convenient, it only allows for importing product and quantity. Unfortunately, we were unable to import custom pricing, which became a major hurdle for large orders (up to 500 lines). Additionally, we faced challenges with branch management. The system defaults to a "Main Branch," which we requested to be removed and replaced with our actual branch. While Cin7 indicated that this was done, the Main Branch continued to reappear in forms. We later learned that the Main Branch couldn’t be removed, and we would need to re-import our entire inventory to make this change, which was far more time-consuming than expected. Our Shopify integration also presented challenges, particularly with the click-and-collect feature, which kept syncing to the wrong branch. Despite several attempts to resolve this, the issue persists. As a small team with only one physical store, we can only imagine how complicated things would be with multiple locations. Lastly, the integration with HubSpot is very limited, syncing only basic contact and product information, which was another disappointment. Similarly, the Shopify-Cin7 sync is restricted to a narrow set of fields. It would have been helpful to have a clearer understanding of what data is actually integrated before committing to the platform. Overall, while Cin7 Omni has promise, the support process and system limitations made it challenging for us to achieve the smooth, efficient experience we were hoping for. We hope that Cin7 will address these issues to improve the onboarding and functionality for future users.
