Pros: Very robust platform. Best follow calendar and opportunity evaluation. Easy to chronically events and create follow up timing.

Cons: Not much. It can be a little hard to find all of the features, but they are in there somewhere. Just takes some time.

I have been using ACT! since June 1999. Just keeps getting better and better.

Comments: it's not that I don't like some of the features, it's just that they aren't applicable to my business so I don't use them

Pros: contact management, email, all in one place. The calendar function makes it's very easy to plan my day.

Pros: How organized it is- and how many different ways you can search for someone or something. Lets you know if there is a duplicate. Easy to add new contact and set reminders, and meetings

Cons: All fields do not print, very hard to figure out how to customize to what would work best for you/ the company.

Comments: This is still the CRM that everybody else is compared to.

Pros: Very robust platform. Best follow calendar and opportunity evaluation. Easy to chronically events and create follow up timing.

Pros: I love the options and categories for each contact. I also like the easy integration to my smartphone for communicating with clients on the go.

Cons: I'm not fond of some of the recent updates but I can still operate it with ease. There isn't much I would change though, works very well.

Pros: Can design ACT to do whatever you want with regards to contacts including generating automatic reports and emails along with executable files.

Pros: ease of scheduling is good in this software, adding information to the database is also quite simple and user friendly.

Cons: Do not like the way the different versions of this software sync up together - desktop version versus cloud version do not react well together within our office.

Overall: sales data collection, contact info saved, record of calendar events, etc

Pros: I like how it's easy to you, how it integrates with Microsoft and google very well. I like some feature like creating dynamic groups and the search function.

Cons: Everything is contact base rather than company base. Support is very expensive and if you need the program to do something more than what comes out of the box you might be looking into support services from a professional if you are not savvy enough.

Overall: We use daily to manage our customers, it also integrates with our quoting software.

Pros: There is nothing good about the program, absolutely horrible. Customer support cant handle issues, all i have are negatives

Cons: Hard to use, technical support have zero clue whats going, things that the CRM is supposed to be able to do it is unable to, you cannot sync google or outlook to reflect the information to Act, it goes one way, Act to Google/Outlook but not the other way around. Very dated program, would not suggest to anyone

Comments: Overall good system

Pros: The system does mailings, adding companies and groups together so that you can create different departments

Cons: We are a recruitment company and had problems merging all the cycles together such as interviews tagged with companies etc..

Overall it's been a good system to work with.

Pros: There are an abundance of fields and tools to work with. There is some compatibility with our other programs.

Cons: I don't feel we use it to it's full capacity. Feels slightly outdated and that there would be an easier layout to help manage and prioritize.

Pros: It has a lot of features and using the ACT! Premium its installed onto my PC and allows me to use an App as well. It can be very customizable and doesn't have a huge monthly cost.

Cons: It can take forever to input information unless you have extra software that streamlines the process. It is very customizable and at times that can be bad thing, especially if you don't know what you are doing. You can screw it up.

Overall: It does keep accurate records of when I contacted someone and reminds me when to follow up.

It is just an average product

Comments: I feel for the product that should be at the next level this one is way behind

Pros: Easy customer lookup, and the web feature for location. The ability to add other programs to enhance the product

Cons: Can not set up automatic email for customers based on criteria from the current program. This would be a great product if it was more powerful, seems like it is falling to the wayside.

Comments: I have tried to replace ACT! with another CRM, Contact Management program. Evaluating the value/cost/functionality/support (SalesForce Basic is more expensive and doesn't come with tech support). For the 20 years I've used ACT! I'm still there, plus I introduced it to a bank's division since it was/is easy to use. As a note, I do not rate an A in technical know-how. One might say I'm a semi-knowledgeable user.

Pros: I use ACT! because it is relatively easy to use with many very useful functions. Tracking and organizing emails, sent and received as well as phone calls becomes almost routine. Several years ago I was updating database and came across an old, maybe 10 years, client who's daughter's birth date I had entered after a call. I called him up, only a week late, to wish his daughter Happy Birthday. After being shocked that I would remember I got a new assignment from his company.

Cons: India call centers = MAJOR weakness. User since the 1990s, V 1.0. Swiftpage is 4th owner. Must have TECHNICAL SUPPORT contract.

Pros: Ease set up and use. Ease in creating many databases - I have one I use all the time, a personal database and one large database of ace, true value and doitbest stores that I can search for contact info. Support is great.

Cons: Sometimes the software breaks...for example I have two pc's and I sometime want act info availabe on both. Sometime the conections are not there. I call support and they fix.

Overall: Ease of use and very inexpensive

Good value, but falls short on key features.

Pros: - great investment for the features you DO get - ability to assign roles to users - customizable to company

Cons: - not able to assign a lead (to a sales person in a given territory) - problems tracking pipeline figures - not "pretty" reporting, needs a facelift - can't track phone calls/emails from mobile device (where a lot of outside sales occur)

Comments: Great value.

Pros: Very intuitive to use. I was able to get right in and start using it from day one. The customer support is very responsive and knowledgeable.

Cons: Would like to customize fields. I sell insurance and things like dependent status and date of birth are very important to run metrics on household size and ages to run quotes.

Pros: I was probably one of the first purchasers of Act. It is a great program that needs a company to put some serious thought behind making it work better. After shopping several other CRM software's I still think it is above the rest in both user friendly and functionality. You price for the product is more than fair (in fact, I think low) but the software runs like it is somebody's part time job.

Cons: Customer service is the worst. The guys in India are great and I have nothing bad to say about them but is there some reason I need to sit on a phone 45 minutes waiting to speak to the representative? Again I think Act could be the CRM leader but I don't see much improvement over the past few years. The principles of this company have sat back and let opportunities walk by not focusing on the customers needs. With all the apps and technologies available Act should have more to offer.When I purchase a product I do not expect to have to spend hours chasing down my answers through videos.

Comments: I would not recommend the purchase of the product to anyone, whether an individual or company. If you are willing to spend additional funds for their service/support fee from the start just to get the product to work, then this is the product for you. The "customer service" group is basically another sales arm to sell you online service/support.

Pros: Long time user (20+ years) of previous versions and had few issues. The only thing I liked about this version was the reputation from previous use of the older versions.

Cons: Not sure how good the product actually is. It never worked. Absolutely no support from day 1 unless you are willing to contract with them on a monthly or annual basis. The product didn't work when loaded and can't use it the way it is. Won't do anything about it from a support standpoint. Never saw a company that had no intentions of supporting it 1 second after purchase. Would not return email or calls once the credit card went through.

Comments: I bought the license in October 2016 for one year. $. Every month they "update" their system which causes 2-3 hours of downtime every single month. Sometimes it takes 3 hours to get the company's tech division in Chennai India. In Chennai, they have a lot of storms and it knocks their power out frequently. Stay away.

Comments: We stayed on 6.0 because it was rock solid and offered everything we needed for 15 years. Now we are upgrading to the Cloud Version. So far they have been the most responsive on call backs and info regarding our questions about a new system.

Pros: 6.0- Never fails. No bugs

Cons: Doesn't integrate with Outlook or have cloud access.

Recommendations to other buyers: These guys have been providing a great product for years. They will be around in 15 years to keep you up to date.

Cons: Syncing with Outlook and Gmail can be difficult.

Overall: Have been an ACT user for over a decade. Works well, but syncing with Outlook and Gmail has been rough. Version 19 is much better, but still needs some work. It would be nice if ACT provided tech support for the first 90 days without paying all the time. Also would like to see contact photos added as it is in Outlook.

Recommendations to other buyers: Add contact photos similar to Outlook and iPhone contacts. Improve choices for syncing with Gmail calendar and Outlook. Add symbol to advise owner that the syncing with Outlook or Gmail is working correctly. I always have to check after sending emails to see if really added it to the history.

Hi Fred, Thanks for your review! Did you know it is possible to add a photo to an Act! contact? You can edit your contact layout to include a picture field. Once this has been added, you can display any photo you like within the field. Regarding the Outlook email history attachments, there is an icon that looks like an envelope with a red X which will display in your taskbar if there are some emails which have been sent but not attached to an Act! contact. This is intended to notify you that these histories will be missing and will give you the option of manually choosing a contact to record them to, or creating a new contact from the info provided. Pros: Ease of inputting and finding any client or prospect, When I can do a mail merge it is great,

Cons: Does not work properly with Windows. Contracts terminate to soon. Have never been able to use it with Outlook

Overall: Overall I think it is a very good program. I have had ACT since 2001. My issues tend to be more technical and ACT's non compatibility issues with Windows , as Windows keeps changing. I also know that I have not used much of the program. I will be getting an update and hope to be able to get better training on the whole program.

Comments: In my 30+ years in Marketing and Sales, I have used Zoho, Sales Force et.....and I always go back to my ACT. It helps me stay organized, informed and meet my deadlines. The tech team is the best with my ACT Premium 18.2 version support, always have solved my problems in a short amount of time. Thank You

Cons: It has a tendency to add my contact to repeat appointments. A glitch in the system I find VERY annoying.

Overall: I have used ACT for over 20 years now in my business. I find it to be very user friendly once customer service explains to me anything I don't know. It integrates well with email and excel programs. A classic contact database system for all!

Recommendations to other buyers: Love the way I have just learned to export certain ID status contacts into excel programs for labels and sharing . Yee haw!

Comments: When we got the first PC over 20 years ago, we looked for contact software for my husband's business. The products we found were ACT! and GoldMine. At the time ACT! seemed more robust. I set up my husband's data base and created custom forms for his business. The software did everything he needed. We are both retired now and the business database contains only a few people. I finally got the personal address books (plural!) consolidated in ACT! some years ago and also use it to maintain Christmas card lists and to print envelopes. I keep notes on directions to peoples homes, children, grandchildren, etc. etc. It seems a bit expensive for my purposes, but I haven't found any "address book" software that can do what I'm accustomed to having in ACT! Since I don't need the latest and greatest features, I don't update the software every time there is a new version. I do appreciate being to pay a single charge for the software as opposed to a monthly fee. Since you took over ACT!, my only contact has been to upgrade my software. I did pay for installation support this time. I don't remember the man's name at the moment, but he was great - especially since there was a problem with the install which he was able to correct. Keep up the good work.

Cons: Some of the features I will never use and some of the features take some time to learn how to use.

Overall: I have been using the program for 15 years. I like that when I last upgraded I did not have to learn everything over again! Microsoft does this and I don't care for it. I use mostly the contact database. However, I expect to purchase another copy of the program because of a new contract that will have extensive telemarketing and reporting.

Overall: Sometimes the amount of data is confusing because there are so many programs to monitor. I would find it easier if there was a program attached the file explaining usage without having to call tech support.

Overall: I work from home and Act is like having a secretary in my office to keep track of all my customers for me. Its easy to use has a lot of features although I probably don't use it for everything it can do.

Pros: Relatively easy to learn to use. Great for scheduling follow up calls, initial contacts and meetings.

Cons: Occasionally it has some "glitches" that cause it to close but I have not lost any info yet.

Pros: Ability to stay in contact, especially the reminders it is capable of generating

Cons: Sometimes slow to load. It still doesn't load the necessary SQL files.

Overall: I depend on ACT to keep in touch with my clients for Annual Reviews and Birthday Cards. I send cards to all family members so it helps to keep my name in front of them. Couldn't be a successful agent without it.

Comments: I find use of ease is good for how we use the program. I would like to be able to duplicate a contact with the Groups section to also copy and that the Groups section could be edited from the Company screen for all the contacts. Overall: Needed help, they told me I had to buy tech support. I had bought this and then a couple months later I needed help. Wanted me to spend more money. Plus, tech support is all outsourced to India. Do NOT BUY!!! I called a manager in AZ asking for my money back, she was not helpful at all and would not give my money back. Not friendly at all! They can take their software and put it where the sun doesn't shine. I will never buy a thing from the company!

Pros: Easy to use. Stable unless it gets bogged-down with attachments, but cleaning the database fixed that issue.

Cons: We wish that the database could be a little bit robust. Our contacts have reached over 40,000 now, and it seems that ACT is a program designed for smaller databases.

Overall: We use ACT every single day! I like the easy installation, support has been great as well! We haven't tried the remote function yet, but would like to sometime this year.

Cons: Update the templates in mail merge function. They are really old.

Overall: ACT is an outstanding CRM tool, but we use it in multiple ways to not only connect and keep connecting with our customers and prospects, but also use the mail merge function to create packing slips, invoices, and sales orders for our products. Smaller firms leverage all tools they have, and ACT is used across our platform for many multiple uses making it most cost effective and productive for our operation.

Pros: Notes are an essential part of this software for me that I am able to access on my smartphone

Cons: I am a visual learner and need someone to teach me how to utilize the various components of the software

Overall: I learned ACT! when working for an Hawai I real estate firm. The learning curve was challenging but well worth it.
I became so dependent on it, that when I left the job, I purchased it for my personal use on my personal computer. I do not use it for business, thus the many features do not apply to me, but I am happy to be able to sync it to my smartphone and have my info at my finger tips at all times.

Recommendations to other buyers: I wish the tech support was available on weekends. That's when I seem to run into trouble and need help.

Comments: I have been an avid user of ACT! since the early 90s and it blows my mind that they totally missed the boat on CRM / SaaS. IF ALL they would do is allow us to import out Old ACT Databases into the cloud and use it - this would be a slam dunk. but they never make it easy do they.

In addition, they keep on changing ownership - I wonder if there is 1 person left in the product development team who knows the history of the product.

It keeps track of every customer and prospect we have and every communication we've had with them. We schedule activities, telephone calls and meetings on ACT. Cons: Act Pro uses a separate window for notes. The other Act programs allowed you to change add notes directly to the window. I like the direct add and change to actual window.

Pros: Layout and look. All the different features and uses.

Cons: Sometimes when I print address labels, it will go and grab the actual address instead of the PO Box. Also 1 wrong click and suddenly everyone connected with a company has that company's address. Also really had a hard time with Birthday reports. I just want 1 specific month, not everyone in random order. SQL servers don't always boot up.

Overall: Since I've updated it's been 1 a headache after another. I kept ACT Bc of my familiarity with the product. But now I have problems with SQL servers not starting, lost a database, and have to pay for customer service? The Customer support guys do work hard to fix your Problem. But paying to fix a problem ACT created or overlooked seems greedy. So minus 2 stars. Also getting some of the reports is not as easy as it uses to be. I don't use all the features of this software but some of it would be great, but now redundant as I have other programs handling those for me. Overall it's just "C" maybe "C+" for me.

Recommendations to other buyers: Fix the above. Also if there is a software glitch I shouldn't have to buy customer support to fix it.

Pros: it starts all the time.

Cons: it is a bit confusing to move it to a new computer.

Overall: This is a review for the Act Software. I have used it for quite some time. I needed to upgrade to a newer version 3 years ago. I do not use it as much as others, but several times a week it is used.

Recommendations to other buyers: have it hooked up via the interweb.

Comments: I have been using Act for some time now and find it extremely helpful to track my customers.
there is a lot of ways to find what I need and sometimes I am intimidated by the program as there is a large learning curve to understand it all.
however, it is easy to use if you need to make it simple.

Pros: The ability to keep notes on each of my contacts. The cells for information are also very helpful.

Cons: I know that there are several features that I do not utilize and I need to find time to better learn the system.

Overall: I have been using ACT for 22 years and it is the most efficient software for me to organize my contacts. I am a commercial real estate broker and this system allows me to keep track of my clients, listings, and research. Much of my success is due to this program.

Comments: I first started using ACT in 2001 during my first job at a Publishing Company. I loved the simplistic ease of the software. My entire career sales habits have been molded by this product. Fast forward 15 years. I started my own company in 2012 and began to use ACT once again. However, I did upgrade to the online cloud version. From at point on I began to have many issues and bugs. The customer service is extremely difficult to contact (wait times of up to an hour or two) to reach anyone. I didn't feel their cloud version was up to par with other established online cloud CRM's. For this reason, I ultimately stopped using ACT. IF ACT were to develop a product similar to ZOHO or HiRise with stellar customer service, I would be a returning customer. Cloud is the only way to go now.

Comments: Act! CRM software has been around for a long time and is a widely used and accepted product. But you would think for a company that has been around so long, they would have implemented a more user-friendly interface and function. Act! claim to fame is being able to work with other products, but that comes at a cost. Consider initial investment, costs for special reporting and connectivity, and the ability or inability to move your data from Act! to another program should you decide to switch before purchase.

Comments: several functionalities cannot be fixed. Support has been excellent but can't fix the problems.
act continually disconnects from outlook, sync doesn't work 1/2 the time, templates have formatting problems that continue to return. email doesn't copy to act... never could fix that either.

Comments: I had some problems with Act! not getting along with Win10. The Act! program wouldn't start. After a bunch of hrs the tech got, it figured out. Hopefully, the next version will get along with Win 10 better.

Comments: Act! is a pretty good package and we benefit from it as a business. We are highly invested in it as part of our workflow, but unfortunately, there are complexities to using it that often slow us down or cause us to bypass using it to it's fullest capacity, which is inefficient.

This being said I feel that there could be a few changes in functionality that would improve (for us, at least) the group (or shared) activity capability that the program has. I would be delighted to give you more details about my thoughts and the thoughts of my teammates.

There needs to be a simple mechanism that we can use to send suggestions.

Tech support is almost always very good, but there are occasional exceptions when under-trained tech reps keep us on the phone longer than necessary trying to figure out the problem but just giving canned responses, without really understanding the software deeply. It happens but not often.

Pros: Updates give me more feature functionality. And I can easily find and add information on my contacts.

Cons: Right now I have the Premium Edition - I was unable to work off site. I plan to upgrade to the cloud edition which will allow me to work on site.

Overall: I use this daily to keep business and personal information. I use this for mailing as well as e-mail to keep in touch with my clients as well as reaching out to relative and family friends. I live on ACT. Their customer support is excellent. I have been a user since 1999.

Overall: I bought act when I first started my business and have loved it ever cents. It is so user-friendly and manages all of my clients, prospects, colleagues and vendors. Not only that, but it Keeps me on target with upcoming tasks, including calls, meetings, webinars, Skype meetings And miscellaneous tasks. Comments: I have used ACT for several years now. The program suits my needs very well and I have found it to be very reliable though I do not use all of the e-marketing features that are available. There are pretty good tutorial videos to help new users get started. I have one possible bug that appeared after I upgraded to Office 365, but it is fairly minor and may not be a problem with ACT. Other than that, the program works as advertised.

Pros: Multifunctional. Lots of ways to capture detailed info.

Cons: Cannot print out a report that contains status/last call details.

Overall: Unfortunately, I have stopped using ACT. I work in partnership with distributors and it is easier to share prospect lists/updates with them if I keep the info in an Excel spreadsheet. I cannot do this with ACT. If there is a way to do this, I'd love to hear it because my spreadsheet isn't as dynamic as ACT.
