The name says it all: this tool is brilliant. Pros I attended a training session with internet marketing legend Perry Belcher, where he introduced Brilliant. It has everything you need to build a community, newsletter, and subscription service. I loved it so much that I purchased additional websites for my other businesses. The onboarding and guidance was great. What I already noticed up front was the outdated design of the platform. Luckily the design can be changed so that was the plus for me to set it up on my own. But I would have given it five stars if it would have a decent out-of-the-box design. The outdated design is also not beneficial to the overall UX. If you're not bothered by design in general Brilliant Directories is a no-brainer. Pros What i love most is the onbaording. The best part? I can contact them immediately about their free listing in my directory. If they need to edit their listing or want to advertise more prominently, I can easily offer different membership levels to suit their needs. This feature alone has saved me so much time and effort in building a comprehensive and engaging directory. Another big plus is the ready-made themes. These themes are industry-specific and come with default layouts and filters that are highly relevant to the businesses I'm targeting. This makes it incredibly easy to set up a professional-looking site without needing to dive into complex design work. Cons One of the main drawbacks I've encountered is the limited filtering options in the Business Data feature. Currently, I can only filter by one business category at a time. Although there's an option for a "broader search," it doesn't quite meet my needs when I just want to focus on a few specific categories. This limitation can make it a bit challenging to narrow down the exact businesses I'm looking to target for my directory. Cons The difficulty of customising the site. The themes are ok but if they are not a strong fit for your use case you really need to know what you are doing to modify it to suit your exact needs. Pros I enjoy knowing that I do not have to create all those automatic email forms, or the privacy policy, terms and conditions. For the most part all you have to do is add a title for your site, the logo, categories and subcategories. The site is clean in design and the best part is that it is already mobile friendly (that alone is a relief) Now, I have used some AI chat bots in my time but the one that is on the admin site is freaking awesome and by far the best I have ever dealt with, so my hats are off to whoever is the mastermind behind that thing. A very well trained AI Chat Bot! Cons I am a a novice website designer and I had some issues with were to start and what the next steps were. BD does a good job at providing training but does not make as easy as I assumed it should be to paint by the numbers. I was expecting a step by step guide illustrating what to do and how to do it.
