Pros

Alma has been a tremendous upgrade from our previous software. As a faculty and parent, I appreciate the ease of use which Alma brings to our staff and as a parent.

Cons

I am sure there are limitations to this software and at this time, it has been small things which our previous system did and our current system does not do. I am sure they will provide a way to get this updated.

### "I Just Startes Using ALMA, And It Saves Me Time When Using It!"

I really like using ALMA. Any time I have asked for assistance, I am always very pleased with the quick response I get. My questions are always answered.

Pros

I like how easy taking attendance is and there are several ways to look things up. It's versatile. Can find things quickly.

Cons

I would like to see for our school, the attendance for the classroom for the morning only instead of seeing it for the whole day (like specials and other small/quick classes we go to).

Attendance is the best! Tracking our student body is simple. Also the directory for all the times we need to call parents, etc.

Pros

Alma is super easy to use. Having all the information you need in one place makes finding a student and their information quick and easy!

Cons

The reports. I am getting better at using them but they don't always seem to have what I need.

Patience, resilence

Pros

It is very easy to use for basic information and was easy to use on day one. But I believe that the program is more of a elementary program than a high school program. It does not meet the needs of high school in the areas of report cards and reporting.

Cons

Training was poor. We could have used much more training especially on reporting. There is no in-depth reporting. Report card time is an extremely difficult process.

This past week one of my class grades was deleted accidentally by the office while in the process of grading the first trimester. Alma recovered the grades and sent them to the office the very next day.

Pros

The ease of use grading. The software allows the user to add one subject or grade to another class with just one click.

Cons

Sometimes the forms are long and hard to read on display.

Able to learn a universal program that could potentially be used at a different school.

Pros

I LOVE the new and easy way to submit grades. Easy few step process. Before there was a more complex way and now it's a simple three-step process to submit y'all my grades. I have group grades and I LOVE that it separates them by grade.

Cons

There is absolutely nothing negative. The whole system is consistently improving and making it that much easier for teachers to use in our short amount of time to submit grades for all of our classes.

Pros

Finding all the information related to students all in one place. The student and parent portals are very useful aspects of ALMA. The ability to communicate, in bulk, with different groups. School announcements is a good feature. Alma Start is a potentially great service.

Cons

we are not able to use Arabic to enter information (we are a school in Lebanon, where Arabic is the official language) It would be a good idea to be able to share disciplinary incidents on the parent and/or student portals.

Pros

While the majority of the software is wonderful there are a few things that I wish were different. I do like the attendance feature and the assignment and gradebook features. My favorite part is the message board where I can send out one email to all my students and parents at once. This is a great help when doing Online Learning.

Cons

There are several things I dislike about the software. The first one is with curriculum. I would like to be able to copy the entire unit and all lessons included with that unit. I also would like to be able to pick a date to schedule the lessons, not just choose the number of days. This would make it easier to continue a lesson if I needed to spend extra time on it due to reteaching. The last thing that would be nice is if you can reopen and edit your units and corresponding lessons after you have clicked completed. This way if something was forgotten and needed to be added for the next year it is possible to add it.

### "Excited for the future"

Pros-Customer service is great. They work on updates almost every week as their product continues to grow and expand to meet the needs of school districts. Cons-They are developing the transcript and the scheduler component. That is why I rated overall as 4 star instead of 5.(I am a high school counselor). Ease of use is continuing to get better and better with each update they make. It's not that the program is hard to use it is just that occasionally there are a few more clicks you have to make in order to get to where you want to be. However, they have added a few things just in the last week that are making it easier and more efficient to use.(gradebook updates, search bar, etc) Making the jump to Alma was a big leap at the high school because when we started they did not have a scheduler component or a transcript. This made me very nervous as a high school counselor who uses both of these items. However, I was tired of having to track students using a credit worksheet. I know that with a year or two Alma will be were the high school needs them to be. The parents and students have made many comments about how easy it is for them to use their side of Alma. The communication tools within Alma are easy to use and something I use to reach parents/students about different opportunities, scholarships, testing dates, etc. I am excited to be on this journey with Alma and feel like we are headed in the right direction!

I've had very few issues with Alma, those I have had were easily answered by the office staff. Overall this is a great product fur use in schools.

Pros

Once a brief instruction had been given, this software is very easy to use. Customer support is always available if needed.

Cons

I would like to have the iron to automatically drop the lowest 10% of cw/hw grades. This feature is not yet available, which means I must manually search each student's grades and drop those grades myself... time consuming.

Lots of clicking. Must click many times to enter grades. I'd like to be able to 10 key.

The move to Alma has been a great step for our school district. It is simpler and more comprehensive than our old SIS.

Pros

The customer service at Alma is unmatched. They are attentive to the growing needs of school districts and work to try to accommodate feature requests. From the parent side, the interface is simple and clean and has the pertinent information front and center.

The emergency alerting by phone is an area in need of improvement.

I like the fact that I am able to take attendance with ease and email parents if any issues arise. The app meets the needs of the students, parents and educators.

The only thing I had difficulty with was editing the settings of a class after they have already been entered into the system.

I needed to learn how to add a feature. Customer Service tends to forget sometimes that not everyone knows how to use it and perhaps needs to ask a few questions before they send screen shot directions. I didn't know how to add 11th grade for registration on Alma Start. The instructions that were sent took me awhile to understand where the features were. Once I figured it out it was easy to add the feature.

Pros

Alma is easy to use. I use it daily for attendance and to communicate with parents. I use the site for registration.

Cons

When you are not familiar with Alma it can be confusing. Once you learn how to use it you can benefit from all of the features.

Streamlined functions, parent's quick access to their children's grades, and ease of utilizing tools of their pages have all served to make my time using Alma a great experience all around.

Pros

The Alma team has consistently served our school with a great website and easy to understand functions while fixing bugs quickly and communicating effectively. Alma has also been very quick to respond to our administrator's needs for support and help. Alma is highly recommended!

Cons

One thing, which is minor, that I would change is having the settings in the "grades" portion be left where they are the last time I used it for each particular class.

Pros

When logging it you can do that with ease. It is easy enough to switch to different classes in the program.

Cons

It won't let you break up assignments into different categories other than what is listed like classwork and exam. It isn't always easy to use and if a student disappears and reappears everything is lost from them. Sometimes it doesn't save what you have put in for a grade.

Therefore, we allow you to edit the default types or add custom ones via the "settings" tab within your class. You can even have different assignment types for every term! The mobile app is very difficult to navigate. It is ok for checking a grade or assignment, but it is difficult to add or grade an assignment.
