January 5, 2018 4.0 This software is more modern that what we were using. It is very user friendly and aesthetically pleasing. It simplifies the steps needed to achieve our goals. Pros I like the clean layout and user friendly design. The customer support team is responsive and helpful. Overall our transition has gone smoothly. Cons I wish there was an app for teachers to make attendance and entering grades simpler. I also wish there would have been an easy way to transfer historical data from grade levels below high school. It would be great if payments could be processed through Alma. The parents like the ease of checking their children's grades and assignments. Cons I am having trouble learning the report card program. I am still receiving training for this but it seems very difficult to have to switch back and forth from one program to another. I sure once I understand it with more training I will like it. Pros We have been looking at new software for a long time. This is the best I've seen. Computer scheduling of classes, Google integration, online enrollment, quick reports, colorful menus, file cabinet for student info, and intelligent communications to students and parents make this software VERY easy to navigate and it will you save time. Customer service is very good and attentive. I can't really ask for more. Contact this company...You won't regret it! Cons Bio area could include more fields. Ease of looking up reports. Easy to enter information. Love the main page of each school, all basic information is on that page. Cons For state reports, we've had to work with Alma to get all the fields in for the reports to correctly extract, and that took some time. However, customer service has been very helpful and responds to my questions within 24 hours, sometimes even sooner. We have a Google spreadsheet set up where I can enter the problems as I come across them, and that has been a great tool for us to use. Review Source KW Katherine W. I grade one assignment in Religion, Social Studies and Literacy. Cons Some reports are difficult to read. I think it will be better if you could download the whole report directly from the site instead of waiting for them to runit for you.. They are also constantly adding new features to make the product even better. Cons The software is very user friendly and any “con” I have had has been taken into consideration by the company and they have made adaptations to meet the needs of my district. The attempt that Alma made to create a reports section is poor. The reports are very rudimentary and are not acceptable. The interactions that I've had with the online support has not been helpful and the reps are rude! Also, the program (Alma) doesn't allow a teacher to go back and look at previous lesson plans once they've been marked completed. Which begs the question of what's the point of putting your lesson plans online if you can never access them again!!! I'm extremely disappointed with the program and staff! Pros The software is very easy to use and user friendly. I am able to quickly take attendance, add assignments and grade all of my student's work in one place. Cons The assignment copying function. Pros For the past few months, I have been on Alma close to every day with the guidance from the Middle school and High School teachers on how to navigate this web site. After a tutorial and managing on my own, I have learned to find what I need to find the correct information. Because of my line of work, I work with staff and students on a regular basis. It brings me great joy to know that I can help a student out by doing a quick glance at their " Alma" to find missing work and to see if other work has been graded. Cons The only downfall is that the company have changed their format a few months ago and I have been having a hard time remembering how to work with a different format. Review Source
